Description

Mana is incredibly precious to someone who practices magic. Generated by receiving the moonlight of Eweca, mana is not replenished during the day when Eweca is not in sight. But you can use this Meditation skill to put your mind into a state of extreme tranquility, increasing the mana absorption rate.

Details

• A toggleable skill that increases the recovery rate of Mana.
  • Stacks with Nighttime, Enduring Melody, and Restful Wind.
• Meditation forces the user to slow down to a walk, unless a Wand or a Staff is equipped.
  • This still applies if the user is mounted on his or her own pet, but not when on a party member's pet or other mount, or when flying on a pet.
• Unlike Mana Shield, Meditation may be used while using the Play Dead action.
• Meditation stops the recovery of Stamina. It also causes the player to become hungry at three times the normal rate.
  • Stamina Elixirs will still recover Stamina if used while Meditation is active.
  • Players may still regenerate Stamina while Resting near a Campfire, although the regeneration rate will be reduced.
  • Players using Enduring Melody, and Restful Wind will still recover Stamina, although the regeneration rate will be reduced.
  • Stamina regeneration from Awakening of Light, Respite, and Fantastic Chorus's Life Anthem is not halted nor reduced.
• Meditation does not force a controlled marionette to walk, as the status only affects the player.
• Meditation is canceled upon revival, rather than defeat.
• Rank E Meditation is a prerequisite to obtain the quest for learning Inspiration.
• Rank 9 Meditation is a prerequisite to obtain the quest for learning Spellwalk.
• Currently capped at Rank 8.

Obtaining the Skill

• Everyone: Talk to Stewart in Dunbarton about Skills after having obtained Icebolt, Firebolt, and Lightning Bolt.
  • Caution: Talking to Stewart with "the Elemental Apprentice" title equipped and an Ice Wand will have him give you the Ice Spear quest instead.
  • Caution: Talking to Stewart with "the Elemental Apprentice" title equipped will have him give you the Fireball quest instead.
  • Caution: Talking to Stewart with a Lightning Wand equipped will have him give you the Thunder quest instead.
• Elves: As an alternative to the above, talk to Castanea in Filia about Skills after having obtained Icebolt, Firebolt, and Lightning Bolt and the other skills she asks from you.
• Giants: As an alternative to the above, talk to Weide in Vales about Skills after having obtained Icebolt, Firebolt, and Lightning Bolt.
