Spinning Slasher

A skill that pulls in a mass of enemies, pounds them, and then flings them away from you. This technique is especially awesome when combined with an AoE skill.

Details

  • Requires a Chain Blade equipped to use.
  • Gathers enemies within a 100° angle to the right of the targeted point and pulls them in, then attacks with a 8-hit spin that pushes them back.
    • Enemies within the spin's radius will still be attacked even if the pull did not hit them.
      • Enemies can still be knocked out of the attack range during the pull, causing the skill to miss.
      • Enemies possessing Advanced Heavy Stander will not be pulled in by the sweep, but may still be hit by the spin attack if close enough.
  • When the skill is used, red arrows will mark potential targets who will be affected by the skill.
    • Enemies that cannot be pulled will instead have a grey arrow.
    • However these arrows are only guidelines as enemies can move in and out of range during the skill's execution.
    • Where you click will determine the angle at which you sweep.
    • It is required that at least one enemy is within range to use this skill.
  • The user cannot move with Spinning Slasher loaded.
  • The multiple hits dealt by slashes are purely cosmetic.
    • The total damage of all the hits is equal to the actual damage dealt.
      • However, unlike Pummel, enemies do not take a minimum of 1 damage per hit and therefore creatures with 100% Damage Reduction from Protection, Level 3 Heavy Stander, or Invulnerability receive only 1 damage from the skill.
    • This means that Proficiency is gained and Durability is lost for only one hit rather than eight times, Critical Hit is calculated only once rather than separately for each individual hit, and if a Critical Hit is scored, each hit will deal a Critical Hit on all enemies.
  • Causes all impacted enemies to aggro.
  • The user will exhibit Advanced Heavy Stander while in use unless they are knocked into Deadly. However, the attack cannot be interrupted even if the user is Knocked Unconscious.
  • Rank 5 Spinning Slasher is required to obtain the quest to learn Bachram Explosion.

Training Method

Tips

  • "Get a Critical Hit" and "Perform a finishing blow" count multiple times per use if you crit/kill multiple enemies.
    • Since "Perform a Finishing Blow" is likely to complete itself well before "Get a Critical Hit," it is beneficial to create a solo party and set the Finish Rule to "Anyone in the Party." This allows you to get multiple opportunities for critical hits while reducing the amount of time you spend positioning enemies.
      • As a side benefit, building Dorcha is also easier as you can get an extra hit on finished enemies.
      • For those who have it, the Dorcha Snatch Master title will also reduce downtime between using the skill.
    • Enthralling Performance followed by Lullaby can be used to gather enemies
