Lightning Rod.png
This skill uses mana to generate a massive blast of electricity. You must be equipped with a staff to use this skill. You can use this skill as soon as you charge it, but you will deal more damage after charging more by pressing the hotkey or mouse button.

Details

  • Requires a Staff equipped in order to use.
  • An advanced Lightning spell that channels lightning into the staff and discharges it in a straight line.
  • Charging requires the player to hold down the skill's use button or hotkey, then release to attack.
    • Fully charging the skill will increase its damage.
  • The user cannot move with Lightning Rod charged.
  • Enemies hit by Lightning Rod will not aggressively aggro the user.
  • The direction that Lightning Rod travels is based on whether the skill is charged or not.
    • If the skill is not charged at all, the attack will be aimed in the last direction the player faced when moving.
    • If the skill is charged even partially, the attack will be aimed towards the user's cursor.
  • Casting Speed boosts (e.g. Vivace, Staff Upgrades) have no effect on Lightning Rod's charge time.
  • Ignores Magic Protection when calculating critical rate.
  • Cannot be used while Rafting or Hot-Air Ballooning.

How to Get Quest

Log in or change channels after acquiring rank F or higher of Lightning Bolt, Thunder, Lightning Shield, and Lightning Mastery.

Briefing Those who can separate ergs can also combine those same immense energies to make them much more destructive. Work with ergs as much as you can if you wish to learn how to control such power.

Training Method

Tips

  • The Sulfur Spider inside Shadow Realm on Basic difficulty is an effective way to train lightning rod, playing dead just before a wave spawns in the "Big room" and then triggering the spiders' aggro, charging up as they head for you, and then firing after they are close enough. Be sure to use inspiration/drink MP pots before you play dead.
