Description

Lets you gather and research specimens of animals and plants from the Shyllien Nature Reserve. You will need a Blasted Oak Wand to gather plant specimens.

Details

• Passively increases the success rate, reduces the time needed to gather shyllien patches, and grants a chance for the shyllien patches to drop multiple resources at once.
• Equip a Blasted Oak Wand and click on a shyllien patch to gather resources.
  • Gathering will continue automatically until the skill is canceled, mana is depleted, an enemy attacks, or a failure to collect occurs.
    • When gathering fails, the player will be knocked back.
    • Partners will not gather an additional resource.
  • Base collecting time is 4 seconds.
  • Each success depletes the number of remaining materials in a patch by one, even if a Lucky Bonus or the skill bonus multiplies that one into two or more, regardless of which item is obtained.
  • Each gathering attempt reduces the Blasted Oak Wand's Durability by 0.1.
  • Mutant animal specimens are normal drops from the mutant animals rather than gathered from.
• Shyllien patches can only be found in Shyllien Nature Reserve.
  • There are five kinds of patches, based on location and appearance, and each has its own time between respawns, amount of materials that can be gathered, base success rate, and success reward probability list.
  • The glowing effects of the patches are invisible if Mini Effects is enabled.
  • Rain does not increase the number of materials that can be gathered from a given location.
  • Available materials do not regenerate over time; the gathering point must be exhausted and a new one spawned to re-fill.

Obtaining the Skill

Purchase a Blasted Oak Wand from the Master Botanist or Grandmaster Magic Scholar at Shyllien Nature Reserve and equip it.

Training Method

• "Obtain Mutant Animal Specimens" means to kill the enemies in the Shyllien Nature Reserve; the enemy must drop something in order to gain training proficiency.
  • Their drops do not need to be picked up.

Tips

• When gathering from the large Shyllien deposit in Outskirts District 2, you will receive two counts of training rather than one. The gathering success rate from the large deposit is 100% regardless of rank, so this may be the ideal method to train the skill quickly, provided that it can be done so safely.
  • Shyllien Assimilation Essence is easy to craft and using it will allow you to gather from nodes unbothered from the local creatures.
• Obtaining multiple herbs or Shyllien Crystals will count towards each training requirement it meets; For example, gathering 4 Poison Herbs will train the 4 herbs requirement, as well as the 3 and 2 herbs requirements simultaneously, while getting 3 herbs at once will only count towards 3 and 2.
  • Scoring a Lucky Bonus will also count towards this.
• "Obtain Mutant Animal Specimens" can be easily trained in Outskirts District 1 against Mutant Rabbits.
