As the Milletian attempts to defeat the White Dragon Languhiris using the Brionac, an Unknown Man, labeled as "Cessair," appears and uses its magic, labeled as the Red Eye according to Shamala, to stop the Milletian and render them unconscious, seemingly to the dismay of the dragon. After the Milletian awakens, they are told that Languhiris lost its "fun" and fled.
After the Black Dragon Bhafel pushes back the defending forces of the Shyllien Nature Reserve, a white Unknown Man, called Black Mask, appears and orders the dragon to stop messing around and fall back, much to its dismay.
Black Mask is seen talking with the Black Dragon Knight. A Cessair then reports to Black Mask that the leader of the shamans, Akule, has been dealt with, but Black Mask states that they need to eliminate the rest of the shamans as they cannot leave everything to chance. Black Mask then dispatches Cessair's Heart and their followers to find the holy land of shamans.
Later, a Cessair reports that their enemies have completed the charm, nullifying their magic, but in return they have found The Holy Land of Shamans, and their enemies are now attempting to reclaim Hillwen Mine. Black Mask then has the Unknown Men, the Black Dragon Knight, and Bhafel mobilize.
The Elves and the Giants successfully reclaim Shyllien Nature Reserve and Hillwen Mine, respectively, but they notice how strange it was that there were too little forces defending the areas and how easily they were recaptured. Millia has the Milletian achieve her vengeance by marching straight for Zardine, where the Cessairs are stationed at.
Cessairs, Languhiris, and their goons attack the Milletian, Millia, and the elf and giant forces to the entrance of Zardine. Languhiris acknowledges the Milletian as a worthy opponent, but a Cessair questions the White Dragon, but Languhiris responds that the Cessairs have done as much as they pleased and now it is the White Dragon's turn to have fun before flying off.
Cessair's Heart later places a mole Royal Guard and a Great Scholar at Shyllien Nature Reserve to antagonize the Milletian, falsely claiming that one of the Reserves' documents he deciphered states that Milletians will rule Erinn while becoming monsters that destroy everything in their path. The other scholars immediately jump to various conclusions and then leave to report this.
A Cessair later then attacks The Holy Land of Shamans with Bhafel, but notices something familiar about Lelach.
Black Mask, the Black Dragon Knight, and their army of Unknown Men battle the Milletian and company at Zardine. Black Mask asks the Milletian to sacrifice themselves, stating that paradise will truly come if they do, but they refuse. Taking matters into his own hands, Black Mask and the Cessairs use their Red Eye magic to instantly subdue the Milletian to their knees and then transmogrify the other, charmless Milletians into demons to attack everyone.
Bhafel reveals to Lelach and Shamala that the plan of the Cessairs is to put Milletians under their control and separate Erinn from its Gods.
Black Mask, angered upon detecting a explosion that caused the disappearance of the Black Dragon Knight, Ruairi, tries to find a medium to a goddess' manifestation, and entrusts Cessair's Heart to continue their plans.
Cessair's Heart removes her robe before she and her goons ambush Vales as an attempt to assassinate Krug to sever their alliance with the Elves and Milletians, but the Milletian arrives in the nick of time, forcing her to order a retreat.
Black Mask appears in Connous Oasis where Millia found Ruairi and finally unmasks himself, revealing to be Tarlach, concerned for his best friend. He realizes Millia is the medium to a goddess' manifestation and Ruairi considers using her for an offering.
A Cessair appears at the ending of the drama commenting, ordering the Milletian interviewer to stop ranting to the Tuatha de Dananns who despise the Milletian race. After the interviewer insists on continuing to rant, the Cessair uses the Red Eye magic to subdue him.
The Cessair's base of operations is revealed to be in Renes. Akule requests the Milletian to request the aid of Castanea, Krug, Eirawen, and Admiral Owen to combat the Cessair and fight in a war that will determine the fate of Erinn.
Meanwhile, Shamala is sent to scout Renes, taking the form of a Dungeon Rat. She overhears the Cessair mention about Black Mask being the one from a prophecy that would free the Cessair; another mentions that anything after thousands of years of oppression would be an improvement. A few of the Cessair members are also wary of Shamala's presence as a rat, believing that there are always ears listening. However, Ruairi eventually detects the presence of magic and discovers Shamala, forcing her to flee.
Shamala manages to escape the Cessair by transforming into a Rat, a Wasp, a Turtle, and a Black Panther. Ruairi orders the Cessair to let her go.
Shamala then returns to Akule, the Milletian, Odran, Dowra, and Maike, reporting that the Cessair's true plan is to use Millia as a sacrifice. The race captains then plan to use themselves as decoys while Akule, the Milletian, and Shamala infiltrates in secret.
