Description
Cichol (written as Ciocal Gricenchos in the Irish Mythology) is a God who governs the Fomorians. He appears as a major reoccurring main antagonist for he leads the Fomors and tries to kill Humans that stand in his way.
His intentions are to destroy every "irrational idea," and he wants "everything to reset and start from scratch, fair and square." Cichol attacks Erinn and its residents in order to reshape and cleanse it with "blood purification."
His antagonist role seems to have declined since Generation 11, ceasing his plots all while assisting Milletians. This, however, seemed to have spiked rebellion from his disciples.

—Cichol |
A long time ago, Cichol used to be friends with Morrighan. They discovered a "hole" in the sky, presumably the portal to another world in which the Milletians came from. After Morrighan creates the Soul Stream, he urges her to seal it to prevent outsiders from entering, but she refuses. Cichol states that Morrighan had turned him into an "unstoppable monster" since she never heeded his requests. Since then, their friendship disbanded.
Cichol appears to Shakespeare numerous times in the past telling him that he is not welcome in Erinn and that he should leave.
Three months after Shakespeare's revival, he returns to Avon, exactly the same place where he died. He searches for Bella, and Cichol appears, guarding an unconscious Bella. The God is intrigued that Shakespeare is gifted with prophetic dreams from another star. He finds it foolish how Shakespeare developed feelings for Bella, and orders him to leave Erinn otherwise he would have to kill him.
After disposing of Cichol's minions, the God himself attacks. Morrighan intervenes and tries to seal Cichol within Avon, but the God redirects his attack. Shakespeare interrupts and pushes the Goddess, releasing her spell. Cichol again warns Shakespeare to run far away, and disappears with Bella. Morrighan then reveals that Shakespeare will soon rule over Avon, and takes him away.
During the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh, at Taillteann, Shakespeare tries to help Fallon's Guardsmen. After what appears to be a successful battle, Cichol appears and destroys one of the Guardsmen with his blasts. He then orders his Black Warriors to kill the remaining soldiers. Shakespeare demands Bella, but Cichol ignores this, remarking that he had grown stronger, and the speed of his growth is astounding, but is still weak. Cichol tells Shakespeare that he is merely Morrighan's puppet, bound by her false promises, and that he is merely fighting for nothing. "Remember this... The future that's been promised to you is a lie, my dear uninvited guest." the God says as he disappears.
At this time, no one knows Cichol's motivation or his true face. What is known is that he desires the destruction of all beings in Erinn (or at least those who stand in his way).
Morrighan was sealed away by Cichol so that he could disguise himself as her to trick the humans. It is said by Shiela that he was supposed to be dead; however, he is still very much alive.
Disguised as Morrighan, Cichol convinces Mores to join the Fomors as humanity had betrayed him.
If one uses the keyword "Cichol" on Duncan, he claims that Cichol was the one who began the wars between the Fomors and Humans, sent Glas Ghaibhleann and Cromm Cruaich to Erinn for destruction, petrified Morrighan and took her form, and manipulated the humans into thinking that Morrighan is a traitor.
In the finale, after Glas Ghaibhleann is defeated, his false identity as the goddess Morrighan is uncovered. Mores states that when the false Morrighan demanded that his daughter, Mari, was to be slain, Mores saw through the disguise. However, Cichol explains he expected Glas Ghaibhleann to die as he infused Dark Mana to draw Tir Na Nog and Erinn together. Mores attempts to battle Cichol, but dies in the process. Cichol then turns his attention to the Milletian and attempts to kill them, claiming it is their 'fate for having been born a pathetic Human,' but is shortly stopped by the real Morrighan. Cichol remarks that the Milletian 'must have been worth something' as they 'even managed to save the Goddess,' and is impressed by their ability to defeat Glas Ghaibhleann. He remarks that he will remember their name, realizing the Milletian is now a threat to him. During an argument with Morrighan, Cichol claims that a 'true paradise begins with the annihilation of Humans,' and then flees. Morrighan says to the Milletian that Cichol's influence between the two worlds allows his army to invade easily.
Cichol and Morgant had recruited Ruairi to their Dark Knight Army. The God then demands that all the Goddess Statues on Uladh are destroyed so that his army can invade with ease.
Later, Cichol attacks the Milletian after suffering from Ruairi's fatal blows, and scolds his minion for meddling with a 'nobody' before realizing it was his ultimate nemesis, and attempts to attack. Unfortunately for him, Price comes out of nowhere, which surprises the God. Price leaves with the Milletian, angering Cichol as they survived him. Ruairi pleads to follow them, but Cichol declines, saying its not worth it as their plans are almost complete. The God leaves the scene.
He then attempts to use Triona's body as a sacrifice to summon the goddess Macha. At the end, he attempts to blast Tarlach, but Ruairi fights Cichol, only to fall in agony. Cichol then uses him to re-summon Cromm Cruaich and leaves afterward. He also states that Morrighan lied to Humanity because she did not tell them that Tir Na Nog was in fact, Erinn.
Cichol appears in the finale, right before the Claimh Solas battle. He mentions that the transmutation of the sword was only half complete. He makes a short speech saying how history repeats itself, and leaves.
It is said that Cichol's influence on Iria caused Shadow Ghosts from Metus to appear in the Shadow Realm.
Cichol himself appears in Longa Desert Ruins as an attempt to murder the Milletian by using a Caliburn-infused Cai. After Cai defeats his foe, the two leave.
He, along with Mata, several Bone Fighters, Lancers, Archers, and Shadow Ghosts, appear in the Shadow Mission, Assist the Shadow Realm Expeditionary Force. Cichol says that Caliburn and Courcle's Heart belongs to the Fomorians, mocking the three races that the Goddess Neamhain was not on their side. He attempts to kill everyone in front of him but stopped shortly by Elatha, who Cichol insults. Elatha says that their deaths would do nothing to support Tir Na Nog's doom, but Cichol wants them to die 'by the method they deserve.' Cichol then casts his magic, who Elatha is no match for, and states "Damn the Gods." Cichol fires his spell, but Elatha appears to have survived, surrounded by a white aura. Cichol is intrigued, and decides to let everyone live longer so long as Elatha makes a "Nortiar Arat" Pact ("World of Darkness" in Fomorian, stated in the previous Generation) with him. Elatha agrees, and all the Fomorians leave the battlefield.
Cichol alongside with Elatha appears in Light and Darkness as Neamhain bonds Caliburn and Courcle's Heart together. Neamhain questions that Cichol had the same goals for Tir Na Nog, only that Cichol intends to 'purify it with blood,' and the 'purification' will start with the destruction of the Soul Stream. Cichol then says Elatha is bounded to him with the Nortiar Arat pact so he could save 'useless' lives. The God then proceeds to convert Elatha's life into Cai's Doppelganger's Shadow, using his powers to fuel it to begin destroying the Soul Stream. Elatha is then absorbed into the Doppelganger, who teleports to its designed destination. Cichol begins attacking, but Neamhain, angered by the loss of her son, also attempts to rally against Cichol. Morrighan steps in and breaks up the battle, telling the Milletian to save the Soul Stream. Cichol compliments how all the Gods in one place (excluding Macha, Aton Cimeni, and Nuadha) and mentions that it would be their last 'banquet' before the prophecy of Tir Na Nog would be completed. Morrighan corrects him, saying that the prophecy will only be rewritten by the Milletian.
He allies himself with Milletian, saying that the Caliburn was threatening all of Erinn; a threat to both Humanity and Fomorian alike. However, he had attempted to murder the Humans and the Milletian several times, leading Arzhela to believe that Cichol is not trustworthy.
Mata, one of Cichol's Dark Commanders, has betrayed Cichol and disowned him as his king, because he had "forsaked" the Fomorian's dream. He, along with his minions, attempt to attack the Milletian, Leymore, and Cai.
Cichol later attempts to relieve Jenna of the Brionac, warning her of Tir Na Nog's usher of destruction. Jenna mocks him, claiming he does not fear death, and casts Shock. Cichol is surprised by this moment and is impaled by Brionac's Lightning. Jenna states that Elatha's "revenge" from the Brionac has come true and leaves. Cichol, who is fading, comments that Neamhain was a fool blinded by greed and unknown of the truth. He then says that the Milletian will 'ironically' be the last hope for their enemies and grants them his power: Shadow Spirit, causing them to groan in agonizing pain. Cichol vanishes into exploding darkness. Leymore rushes in and takes away the Milletian, who still suffers in pain from Cichol's darkness. All of the power is soon quickly sealed in the Shadow Stone.
Last words before vanishing: "I give you the power of Cichol. You now possess the power of the Fomors. A power of strength, from the spirit of darkness... Which will lead to a brilliant annihilation."
As revealed in Day of Liberation, Kinu witnessed Cichol's apparent death, which in turn brought out fear amongst some of the Fomors. A few ended their evil ways and agreed to coexist with Humanity, while the rest were either left confused or retain their wicked path.
According to the Python Knight, Cichol and the rest of his race were tools of Morrighan just to kill all the Partholons.
An image shows Cichol commanding his Fomorian troops, including Cromm Cruaich, in the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh. This suggests that Cichol is responsible for Nuadha's death.
Cichol appears in Falias, right in front of the portal to its throne. He states that he and Nuadha haven't seen each other until this day. Cichol mocks Nuadha before leaving to let his nemesis suffer in his eternal prison.
According to the credits, this event is Cichol's "rebirth."
Marlowe unravels the history behind Shakespeare and his involvement with Cichol, revealing why he is now against Morrighan and the Milletian Race.
Cichol takes note of how Another World is being destroyed, and its condition is continuing to worsen.
The most recent "death" of Shakespeare caused him to be sent to the Soul Stream once more. However, Morrighan shows up and prepares to seal Shakespeare back to Avon. Cichol intervenes and brings Shakespeare to the Crossroad, where he reveals that he took Bella to protect her from Morrighan. He also explains that Milletians are a cancer to Tir Na Nog and the Soul Stream was the lead of its destruction; Morrighan believed that she could use Milletians to save Tir Na Nog, but when that failed, she plots to seal off the Soul Stream and destroy the Milletians. He unravels more of Bella: she is the Emissary of Destruction, with the ability to corrupt and control the minds of others, a power which Morrighan wants to possess. An example of her ability was how she manipulated Lugh into believing she was Triona. Cichol tells Shakespeare that he must experience pain before he can foresee the truth, and tells him to return when he is ready.
In Another World of Tir Chonaill, Shakespeare indeed finds Triona's grave, which leads him to believe that Cichol was not lying. He agrees to assist the Fomorian God, who tells Shakespeare to create the Sphere of Truth. Cichol uses it to create the Truth Helm, which allows Shakespeare to approach Bella without succumbing to mind control.
Along with Morrighan, Cichol appears in the Milletian's dream. Morrighan warns the Milletian that Erinn is in grave peril, but that neither she or Cichol can directly intervene. As the two gods continue to watch the Milletian, they offer their blessings and give them the Goddess Feather and the Mysterious Stone.
Much later, as the Prophets Brilluen, Pennar, and the Black Wizard attempt to use the Milletian as a vessel to see their plan through, Cichol appears, stating that he can "no longer sit and watch this farce." One by one, he belittles each of the Prophets before banishing them. Afterwards, he turns his attention to the Milletian, claiming that he had previously doubted them, however they managed to make it all the way to the Sanctum. He then transports the Milletian to an arena within Falias.
Within the arena, Cichol tells the Milletian that they continue to exceed his expectations, as they not only met the followers of Aton Cimeni, but reached the sealed sanctum of Avalon as well. He continues to point out the Milletian's desire to preserve and protect Erinn from outsiders led them to the "high holy land" and that the Mysterious Stone given to them also allowed him to enter. In addition to this, he expresses his gratitude to the Milletian for trying to prevent the summoning of the otherworldly god the Prophets so desired to bring forth.
Afterwards, Cichol states that he intends to enact the plan he ruminated on for so long, as the opportunity to do so has made its way to him. He summons a Doppelganger of the Milletian that appears to be in demi-god state, leaving the Milletian no choice but to fight against it.
Upon the conclusion of the battle, Cichol questions the Milletian, asking if they have ever considered leaving Erinn, wondered where their soul is anchored, or desired true peace from their neverending cycle of reincarnation and regeneration. He continues to ask if they remember the Glas Ghaibhleann along with other long past events and how it feels to be a being of such uncontrolled power. Cichol then states that despite everything that the Milletian has done, they still do not belong in Erinn and possibly were never meant to be there.
Finally, Cichol claims that he carries no ill will towards the Milletian. He begins to chant the spell necessary to return them to their original world. However, before anything more can happen, Talvish inteferes.
After the situation is resolved, Llywelyn remarks that when Talvish appeared, he faced down Cichol, causing the god to vanish as though he were chased out.

- Cichol is sometimes referred to as Keyhole because of the name's pronunciation.
- The White Wing Staff was inspired by a White Winged God, presumably Cichol.
- The Demonic Cylinder and Demonic Gloomy Sunday was created by the legendary blacksmith Goibne under the orders of a Fomor King, possibly Cichol.
