Description
Morgant, occasionally referred as the Dark Lord, is a high ranked Fomorian leader. He does Cichol's bidding and fulfills the Fomor's plans as he pleases.
History
Revealed throughout Generation 1, Morgant (called the "Dark Lord" throughout the whole Generation) served under Cichol, who was disguised as Morrighan. The Dark Lord tricked Mores into helping the Fomors, showing him a vision that his wife Shiela and daughter Mari were murdered under the order of the previous Lord of Emain Macha. After being brought to "Tir Na Nog" and "Morrighan", Mores agreed to help reconstruct Glas Ghaibhleann.
Meanwhile, The Three Lost Warriors (Ruairi, Tarlach, and Mari) receive an urgent warning from Morrighan informing them to rescue her in Tir Na Nog. After they arrive, Morgant intercepts them, only to be defeated, but before he disappears he curses them under Morrighan's name before vanishing. In the next room, housing the incomplete body of Glas Ghaibhleann, Mores appears and orders the Dark Lord to capture the trio, but when he learns that his daughter is alive and with Ruairi and Tarlach, Mores orders the Dark Lord to stop. But "Morrighan" appears and orders the Dark Lord to continue his onslaught, and he proceeds to incapacitate Ruairi and Tarlach while killing Mari.
Revealed in Generation 2, Morgant had a daughter named Triona. While she was a baby, she was kidnapped by Redire in Math Dungeon under the orders of Esras. This led to The Tragedy of Emain Macha, where Morgant led Fomors into attacking the city of Emain Macha in order to find his daughter. Redire arrives late into the fight and engages Morgant, only to be disarmed and his sword flying out to impale Rian, the current lord, who would die shortly after the tragedy. Esras quickly brought Triona back to her father, who then retreated. It is later revealed that Esras plotted the entire events of the tragedy, though it is unknown of Morgant was aware of this.
It is also revealed that Morgant saved Ruairi from death, only plotting to use him for Morgant's and Cichol's greater plan.
Revealed in Generation 9, Morgant watched over Elatha, the child of Neamhain who bore a striking resemblance to an Incubus, and later convinced Lebbaeus to accept Elatha into the Incubus race. Later, Morgant also convinced Fallon to join the Fomors, stating that his dreams would come true if he did.
Mainstream Story
When the Milletian tries to fulfill what is left off by The Three Lost Warriors, the Dark Lord intercepts them. After being defeated, he warns that they cannot stop the chaos of what Glas Ghaibhleann will cause in Erinn before leaving.
During flashbacks, it is shown that Ruairi was unconscious for a long time and, after awakening, is still quite weak. Morgant had Triona, his daughter, looking after Ruairi in a dungeon. Morgant appears and calls Ruairi "interesting" for defending Mari and gave up becoming a Lord of Emain Macha by giving it to his brother Rian. Morgant then informs him of how evil humans are, claiming that they continuously bring themselves down through infighting and even claims that Esras, whom Ruairi trusted to look after his brother, murdered their father so Rian could ascend the throne of Emain Macha and says that Esras has all of Emain Macha and his brother under her hand. Morgant also warns Ruairi not to leave or the humans will attack him, but remembering his promise to protect his brother, Ruairi ignores the warning.
As Morgant said, Ruairi was attacked by Esras and her Paladins, who fail to recognize him. Morgant returns and scolds him, telling him that this is what "human justice" is all about, before taking him away. Afterwards, Morgant informs Ruairi that he knows almost everything about him, and that the purpose of Dark Knights is to correct humanity's arrogance and tyranny. Morgant also claims to be "a human who desires to destroy every irrational ideas... and wants everything to reset and start from scratch, fair and square."
During the final battle with Tabhartas, the Milletian transforms into the "true" Paladin for the first time and overpowers the golem. Afterwards, Morgant appears and strikes at the ruins of Tabhartas, causing Rian's dead body to fall out. Ruairi, who appears right after, demands to know who is responsible; Esras, who actually sacrificed Rian to create Tabhartas, immediately points the finger at the Paladin. Ruairi, despite being informed not to trust Esras, immediately vows revenge. Morgant promises Ruairi that he would aid him in receiving his revenge, and the duo leave.
After the incident of Rian's death and Ruairi's misunderstanding of it, Ruairi becomes a Dark Knight and is given Pragarah, a sword that belonged to the Lugh, a famed Paladin. At this time, Ruairi finds out that Morgant's real identity is Lugh himself, though Morgant refuses to be called by the name.
After Ruairi beats the Milletian to a pulp but is later rescued by Price in Alby Dungeon, Morgant appears and when Ruairi asks him about Triona, Morgant assures him that everything will be all right. Morgant also states that he is using Cichol for his own plans.
When the Milletian tries to stop the resurrection of Macha and Cromm Cruaich, Morgant and Ruairi attacks the Milletian. Before Morgant can deliver the finishing blow, he is knocked out by Tarlach and had chipped a piece in his helmet, making his eye visible.
After the defeat of the false Cromm Cruaich, Morgant and his daughter leave, but states when the Light and Darkness cross once more, he will return.
When Elatha tries to find out about his past, he finds Morgant at Ciar Dungeon, who is surprised at Elatha's appearance and states that too much time has passed. He also says Elatha had went too far on killing Lebbaeus and Elatha had acted in such haste. Seeking his destiny, Elatha says he wanted to know about his suffering, and knows that Morgant played a part of his birth and had a transaction with the Incubus kinsmen. Morgant replies that Elatha awoke from a dream into a nightmare. Elatha says he is prepared to know the truth, but Morgant only says the answer lies within Iria.
Vayne briefly mentions Morgant and the tragic incidents from the past.
As the Milletian tries to seal the rifts spreading through Erinn, one of them shows the string of events around Morgant and Triona following the events of Generation 3. After all his plans of revenge have been thwarted by the Milletian, he had nothing left. At the same time, he increasingly grew concerned for Triona and her declining health. After the ritual with Lia Fail failed, her link with Macha became too much for her to bear. As a way to atone for his behavior towards her, he decided to save Triona from the fate of the goddess, and traveled to Erkey Falls. There, he gathered a relic and summonned the god of second chances and entered a Geas with them. However, even by giving up his name, honor, and body, the price to be paid was not enough to erase the goddess's Destiny. And so, he would sacrifice the Fairy queen's blessing and power to instead shift the weight and role to someone else.
Before the vision starts to fade out, an anonymous person was also watching this echo of time and was disappointed that his old foe changed so much, having sacrificed everything for a personal reason.
Morgant appears again in a second rift while the Milletian searches clues about the missing Pragarah. The vision shows Morgant after the contract had been made. He returns to Triona, who is now free from the chain of the goddess, and tells her to rest some more. He tells Triona about the deal he made with the deity, and he admitted that he had been putting his personal feelings aside for the sake of his plans of revenge. As a result of his geas, the price to be paid would be that consciousness was to disappear, and his body to become the deity's puppet. He admits to Triona that they may see each other, but he would not be certain whether he would be able to recognize her in the state he will be. She tries to alleviate his concerns by reasurring him that he would. The vision fades out as Morgant tries to say something to her.
Fate foreshadows that the Deity eventually made him assume the role of Lugh Lavada once again, and handed him to Morrighan as a tool to use in her plots. Bella manipulates him to carry out the plan that leads to the events of Generation 16: Macbeth.

Trivia
- Many NPCs mistake Morgant for a Fomor. However, in Generation 2, he claims to be a Human.
- When the player uses Transformation Mastery to transform to Morgant, you can hear the breathing sound through his armor. Possibly a homage of Darth Vader from Star Wars series.
- Despite being a Dark Knight, his model and armor is unique to him.
