Description

Mores Gwydion is a Druid who was Tarlach's old magic teacher and the hero who ended the Second Fomor War. He is also mentioned in the books The Origin of Moon Gates and Musicians of Erinn.

According to The Origin of Moon Gates, during the Second War of Mag Tuireadh, a Fomorian wizard by the name of Jabchiel attempted to drop Ladeca onto Erinn, but was defeated by Mores, who ended up sacrificing himself. Mores was believed to be dead, but he mentions during Generation 1 that he was sent into a two month coma.

After the Second War of Mag Tuireadh, according to Duncan during Generation 3, the previous Lord of Emain Macha ordered several humans (revealed to be Royal Alchemists during Generations 11 and 12) to execute Mores's family in order to acquire the fame Mores had achieved. According to Shakespeare's Journal, Mores, who apparently heard that his family was being targeted by Fomors, told Shakespeare to rescue his family, however he was too late.

Also shown during Generation 1, Mores soon went on a journey to find a precious Torque that his beloved wife, Shiela, lost, as well as taking vengeance on those who killed his family. He went in Math Dungeon and meets up with a group of Ghost Armors, who try to persuade him to leave the humans behind as the Fomors and Jabchiel tried to preserve Mores's life. Mores ignores them and battles the Ghost Armors, but the fight is interrupted by the Dark Lord's appearance. The Dark Lord then shows Mores a view of his family being murdered by a group of human soldiers. Enraged, Mores follows the Dark Lord to be presented to the Goddess Morrighan, who explains that humanity because of their cruel deeds and is helping the Fomors. Mores believes he is in the fabled paradise of Tir Na Nog and he joins Morrighan to take his revenge on the Humans who had betrayed him under all circumstances.
However, unknown to any of the characters, Shiela's ghost followed him, but she could not be seen nor heard. She discovered that "Morrighan" is actually Cichol, a Fomor god, in disguise; Mores had been tricked into joining the Fomors. Shiela tries to persuade her husband to not heed "Morrighan's" words, but Mores does not respond to Shiela.

After Mores' alliance with the Fomors, he begins writing a trilogy: The Book of Revenge. All three books are written in Fomor language and mention Mores's thoughts, intentions, and plans to accomplish his and the Fomor's goals. The last volume describes a desire to reconstruct Glas Ghaibhleann.

Also shown during Generation 1, when The Three Lost Warriors (Tarlach, Ruairi, and Mari) head to Tir Na Nog at the request of the real Morrighan, they spot the incomplete body of Glas Ghaibhleann. Mari discovers the first volume of The Book of Revenge in a nearby chest, which none of them could understand due to the Fomor language, but Tarlach believes his mentor could decipher it. Suddenly, Mores appears, shocking Tarlach after recognizing his mentor. Mores ignores Tarlach's questioning for allying with the Fomors, and commands Ghost Armors and the Dark Lord to take the trio hostage. When Tarlach and Ruairi call out Mari's name, Mores immediately recognizes his daughter and orders the Fomors to stop, but "Morrighan" appears and demands the Fomors to continue their onslaught, much to Mores's shock and horror.

Generation 1: Advent of the Goddess (Spoilers)

Shortly after arriving in Erinn, the Milletian is informed by the real Morrighan to save her in Tir Na Nog. While finding a way to reach the so-called fabled paradise, they discover Mores's memories as well as the entire trilogy of The Book of Revenge, which he authored. They also discover Mores being manipulated by Cichol through Shiela's memories.

After the Milletian arrives in Tir Na Nog, saves the real Morrighan, and defeats the avatar of destruction, Glas Ghaibhleann, Mores informs the Milletian that the "Morrighan" spectating the defeat of Glas Ghaibhleann is a false. Cichol then drops the disguise, revealing his true identity, then proceeds to taunt Mores for his stupidity by taking too long to notice Cichol being disguised. Mores replies that he already knew the "Morrighan" he assisted was a fake after she ordered the death of his student, Tarlach, and his daughter, Mari, and weakened Glas Ghaibhleann in response. However, Cichol anticipated this; the body of Glas Ghaibhleann explodes and a dark erg flows from the destruction, the expected result of a Glas Ghaibhleann's death, bringing Tir Na Nog and Erinn much closer and allowing Cichol's forces to invade Erinn more easily. Outraged at being used, Mores tries to kill Cichol in response, telling the Milletian to leave as they are not strong enough to fight Cichol, but the Fomor god proves to be too powerful and kills the great wizard.

As the credits roll, Mari, as Nao, is shown mourning her deceased father.

  • Similarly, some of the responses to the Mores Gwydion Keyword has Gwydion misspelled as Gwidyon.
• Berched claims to have mentored Mores when spoken with the Mores Keyword.
• When Mores is played in the RP Quests in the Math Dungeon, he has the monster skill Chain Casting where all magic spells have not one charge, but five charges at once. This includes Fireball.
• During the G1 RP Quest Mores had Chain Casting, Rank E Enchant, Campfire, First Aid, Rank D Rest, Rank C Defense, Rank B Combat Mastery, Rank A Healing, Rank 8 Critical Hit, and Rank 1 Lightning Bolt, Firebolt, Icebolt, Fireball.
• Gwydion is a Welsh name from gwyddon (meaning wizard or scientist) or gwyddion (meaning trees).
