- In some ways, I think it might be the most perfect defense. If it's just used properly, it can potentially be most full-proof defense method against the opponent, and you'll be able to get away without a single scratch.

- Counterattack skill... Simply knowing the skill won't help you. It's all about timing.
This skill cannot be mastered unless you practice it in a real combat situation, which means... You'll need to get hit first. I could show you a demonstration right now and teach you this skill, but... I'll probably break you in half. You should go to Trefor instead and ask him to show you the Counterattack skill. It would be a lot safer for you. Go now.

So you're aware of the Counterattack skill. Counterattack is a skill that utilizes your enemy's power. That means the more powerful the enemy's attack is, the more damage it will deliver. The way to use Counterattack is actually very simple. All you need to do is turn on the skill and just wait. Wait until the enemy attacks you. As soon as the enemy attacks, you know you will have the last laugh! This skill, however, requires a high level of concentration in that you'll have to accurately anticipate your enemy's next move. The main drawbacks of using this skill is that your Stamina will be continually spent, and you won't be able to move during the skill. Now let's see your stance. Oh no... What kind of a stance is that? You won't be able to react quick enough with that. Actually, you won't be able to fight a raccoon with that. The basics of the Counterattack skill involves utilizing your enemy's power. This skill does not involve utilizing YOUR strength. Your legs are all tensed up. You can't react in time like that. Loosen your left leg to make sure you can absorb your enemy's strength... Yes. That's it. Now you look like you're ready. Now all you need to do is actually pull it off in the heat of the battle! Please don't try it on other villagers, though.

It's... not totally wrong, I guess... But that's true only for talented people. If you are no better than mediocre, you'd learn nothing even after getting beat up... It's a matter of risking your life... To be honest, a long time ago, Ranald once beat the crap out of me saying he would teach me a lesson about something called Counterattack skill... Anyway, I might have used some rough words against him at the time but... You'd better watch your language in front of Ranald... Haha...

If you just keep returning an eye for an eye, you'll end up ruining your relationship with others and continue to fight... ...Why don't you just forget about such silly skills like that and learn something like... - If you don't know the Counterattack skill yet, that is definitely a problem. Very well. First, you'll need to fight a powerful monster and get hit by its Counterattack.
Monsters like bears use Counterattack so watch how they use it and take a hit, and you should be able to quickly get the hang of it without any particular training. In fact, if you are not willing to take the hit, there is no other way to learn that skill. Simply reading books will not help.

'Thou shalt not attack others. Ask thyself if anyone suffered wounds inflicted by thee without knowing and repent thy sins. The wounded are also our Lord's beloved. How dare a mere being like thee attack thine brother and hurt him. Reckon ye as a father the heart of God.' Right now, you are interested only in fighting skills, but... - The more powerful the enemy, the more satisfying this skill is to use. The arrow is both powerful and dangerous.
The problem is, if you miss your shot, you might find yourself on the receiving end of a brutal srike, so I suppose it's one of those 'big risk, big reward' things. But in battle, mercy is the luxury of the strong.

- It is just Human nature to have the urge to get revenge on someone who's done something to you ... But why don't we start thinking about the reason God gave us intelligence?
If we were unable to decipher the cause of a conflict, then we would be repeating the conflict with the other party forever. The conflict would never be resolved unless one side consciously decided to let things go. It wouldn't matter just how foolish that might seem to be. But being able to cut those types of hangups... That's precisely what we call the power of intelligence in Human beings?

- There's a saying in the words of Lymilark, who commands, 'Do not attack others. Repent your sins for unknowingly attacking someone, causing great distress.
That being is loved by Lymilark just the same, so why would you, a mere creation of Lymilark, fight your brethren and hurt them? Try to understand Lymilark's intentions through the eyes of a parent...' That's when you'll realize how terrible it is to take away another being's life. I advise you to pray about it and to really think about it.

If you are about to be attacked by a Smash and not a regular attack, your counterattack will apparently be much stronger. From what I know, it's a pretty popular skill... I overheard someone say that it came in handy in some dungeons. ... Haha... You probably already know all this...

- That's a skill that uses the force of your opponent’s attacks against them. It can be reckless, but with proper timing can turn the tables in a fight. I'd also say it’s a useful technique for preserving your own strength.
I mainly used magic on the battlefield, so I didn't really use it all that much myself. The wiser course would be to avoid getting into a situation where you had to rely on using a Counter in the first place.

- That's a skill that uses your opponent's strength against them, right? Ranald recommended that I learn it, saying he'd never taught anyone who regretted knowing how to use it.
Sometimes traders underestimate me because I'm younger than them, so one time, I decided to teach them a lesson once, haha. It's a good thing I listened to my teacher!

- You can't go on living every moment of your life as a counterattack to something, as if waiting for the moment of reversal.
You only hear about happenstance like that in old, old fairytales! Life is predictable, just like dead jellyfish washing ashore. So predictable.

The Counterattack skill is a skill you use to strike back against the opponent's attack power. Well, yeah, it's a lot like the Windmill Skill, in that it's a close-range combat skill.

- Counterattack skill turns your enemies' strengths back against them... It is a really helpful skill in critical situations.
However, you should use this skill only on monsters. Never against other Humans! Because Human revenge can be pretty vicious! I guess that's the way Humans are when they settle scores... ...The problem is Humans can be vicious to nature as well as to each other...

- It's a skill that counters the force of an opponent's attack, inflicting a lot of damage. It cannot be used without having a certain level of skill to accurately see through an opponent's attack.
Once again, it's not a skill you can use if you don't have the stamina to stay on your toes while an opponent is targeting you. In other words, don't try it without being fit to use it.
