Description

Aodhan's sharp features mirror his expression. He has thick eyebrows above sharp azure eyes, a thin nose, and an angular chin. Aodhan's thin lips are taut with determination. The single braid hanging from his short hair instantly identifies him as a Knight. Tall and sure of himself, he sticks out his chest as he talks, leaving a powerful impression over those around him.

Aodhan is the captain of the Royal Guards of Emain Macha. It is his duty to protect the Royal Family of Emain Macha, and he is stationed in front of the Castle. According to Aodhan, the Royal Guard does not have a separate division for town enforcement. This makes Aodhan also in charge of protecting Emain Macha. He finds himself with trouble teaching to people who are not soldiers. He also has a respect for people who respect others.

History

Generation 3: Dark Knight

Aodhan's family was killed in an undescribed event before The Tragedy of Emain Macha. He was brought to the then captain of the guards, who is not named. The guard raised Aodhan as his own son and Aodhan quickly became his most gifted protégé. One of the guards is noted mentioning to the then captain that Aodhan would be a possible candidate for his position when he retired.

During The Tragedy of Emain Macha, Aodhan and the then captain were defending the civilians of the city from the fomor attack, when the captain instructed Aodhan to get the civilians to a safe place while he held off the fomors. Aodhan was reluctant, but was persuaded to do so. He ran to help the innocents, and told the captain “Just please wait for me!” However, Aodhan states to the milletian that that was the last time he saw him, implying heavily he was killed by fomors, sacrificing himself to protect the citizens of the city.

After this jarring event in his life, Aodhan convinced himself that the reason his real family died, and the captain, was that he was not strong enough. He dedicated himself to training to become stronger so he could protect those he cared about. However, he has come to the ideal that good people must always sacrifice themselves. His past cutscene finishes with him saying that he is ready to sacrifice himself to save others, when the time comes.

It's likely the Aodhan's Sword Piece is a fragment of the sword of his foster father, the former captain of the Emain Macha guard.

Mainstream Story

Generation 3: Dark Knight

Because of the grief he felt from losing all the people he has cared about, he is protective of the female Milletian's quests during Generation 3, reluctant to have her sacrifice herself for others. Eventually, however, he accepts her and decides to help her however he can.
