Types of Hits
When attacking an opponent you will notice that the monsters and your character produces different types of hits depending on how you use your skills and attacks. There are 12 types of hits that induces 4 types of effects, each with different properties and animations.
These are the ordered by the probability of a player encountering these types of hits by the hit order:
- One Shot Finish
- This is when you kill an enemy in one hit.
- Critical One Shot Finish
- This is when you kill an enemy in one hit, which happens to be a critical hit.
- First Attack
- The first strike of the battle.
- Critical First Attack
- The first strike of the battle, which happens to be a critical hit.
- (No Text Hit)
- Nothing interesting happens here. This happens during multiple consecutive (non-critical) hits.
- Critical Attack
- You land a critical hit.
- Clean Hit
- You and your opponent both try to attack normally and one hits the other
- Critical Clean Hit
- You and your opponent both try to attack normally and one hits the other critically
- Last Blow
- You kill the enemy.
- Critical Last Blow
- You kill the enemy with a critical hit.
- Finish
- You finish the enemy that a partymate or pet killed.
- Critical Finish
- You finish the enemy that a partymate or pet killed, but you land a critical blow.
Effects
Stun
- The opponent will be stunned for a short amount of time, allowing you to attack again.
- Upon recovering, the opponent will likely attack back immediately.
- Heavy Stander, Mana Deflector, and Natural Shield can reduce stun.
- Most monsters with Advanced Heavy Stander are immune to stun.
- Players and Role-playing Characters have a chance to not receive stun.
- Skills/attacks that cause Stun:
- Normal Attack (Last hit is push-back)
- Icebolt (3rd hit is push-back)
- Lightning Bolt (If attacking one normal enemy, 1 charges is stun)
- Hail Storm (3rd charge is push-back)
- Final Hit (If dual wielding)
- Ranged Attack/Arrow Revolver/Support Shot (Same rules as regular attack)
- Water Cannon (Depending on the distance)
- Charging Strike
- Focused Fist
- Spinning Uppercut
- Somersault Kick
- Hands of Salvation
Push-Back
- The opponent will be knocked back, and will recover quickly.
- Defense, Counterattack, and Lance Counter can be used while receiving a push-back.
- Receiving a push-back with an Egg or Golden Egg may cause it to break.
- Skills/attacks that cause Push-back:
- Normal Attack (Last hit)
- Icebolt (3rd hit)
- Lightning Bolt (Depends on the charge and enemy count)
- Hail Storm (3rd charge)
- Ranged Attack/Arrow Revolver/Support Shot (3rd hit; 2nd if using a Ring or Wing Bow)
- Water Cannon (Depends on the charge and distance from the target)
- Flame Burst (Last hit)
- Heat Buster
- Life Drain (Last hit)
- Life Drain (Monster) (Explosion)
- Beholder Beam Attack (Last hit)
- Axe Throwing
Knockdown
- The opponent will (fly back and) be knocked down and have to get up.
- The time it takes for an enemy to get up is longer than a knock back.
- If the opponent is downed or knock-backed, any hit will knock them down, but their recovery time will be reduced.
- Advanced Heavy Stander negates knockdown.
- Defense, Counterattack, and Lance Counter can be used while receiving a knockdown.
- Most Melee and Puppetry skills causes the knocked down target to gain temporary invincibility and cannot be attacked until they begin to get back up.
- Receiving a knockdown with an Egg or Golden Egg in the player's inventory may cause it to break.

- Normal Attack (Last hit)
- Smash
- Magnum Shot
- Firebolt
- Wind Blast
- Counterattack
- Lance Counter
- Windmill
- Thunder (Last hit)
- Fireball
- Ice Spear

- Hail Storm with Critical Hit (3rd charge)
- Flame Burst with Critical Hit (Last hit)
- Life Drain with Critical Hit (Last hit)
- Heat Buster with Critical Hit
- Drop Kick
- Pummel
- Wire Pull
- Act 2: Threshold Cutter
- Act 4: Rising Action
- Act 6: Crisis
- Act 7: Climactic Crash (Last hit)
- Flash Launcher
- Shooting Rush
- Shockwave
- Doppelganger with Critical Hit (Last hit)
- Elven Magic Missile
- Giant Full Swing
- Spear of Light
- Wings of Rage
- Stomp (Monster)
- Self-Destruct
- Glas Ghaibhleann Skill
- Life Drain (Monster) with Critical Hit (Explosion)
- Beholder Beam Attack with Critical Hit (Last hit)
- Axe Throwing with Critical Hit
Block
- When the enemy uses the Defense skill, they will block the hit, thus placing the stun on the attacker and giving the defender a chance to react.
- Try to avoid activating this as it can prove quite deadly.
- Skills/attacks that cause Blocking:
- Windmill or Normal Attack on a Defense.
- Use Smash, Firebolt, or Magnum Shot to penetrate the Defense.
- It should be noted that using Magnum Shot on an enemy with a shield (using Defense) may some times result in no knock down occurring, and retaliation coming quickly.
- Use Smash, Firebolt, or Magnum Shot to penetrate the Defense.
- Windmill or Normal Attack on a Defense.
