—Exploring Longa desert and uncovering quicksand

Description and Geography

Minimap of the Connous Underground Maze.
The exit of the maze will put you in Errans Gorge.

Connous Underground Maze, also known as Ant Hell or Ant Pit, is a cavern-like area underneath Connous. Players exploring Longa Desert have a chance of uncovering a smoke cloud instead of an artifact. If you stay near the cloud for a few seconds, you will fall into the underground maze. You can avoid entering the maze by avoiding the cloud.

Falling into the quicksand will bring the player randomly to one of five drop points in the underground maze.

When leaving the underground maze, you will end up in Errans Gorge.

Navigating the Underground Maze

The exit can be difficult to find, but the way to it is fairly straightforward. Zooming out the map may help you locate the path which leads to the center.

While navigating through the maze, expect your surroundings to turn more tan and orange when you get closer to the exit. The center of the underground maze is a massive chamber with high ceilings. The stalagmites and stalactites will be bigger compared to the other chambers.

Pressing on, your surroundings will turn bluer as you get closer to the exit. At the center, the exit is surrounded by four pools separated by four paths leading to a central point.

  • The area is very tightly packed, and getting around with a large pet might prove difficult.
  • You may have to cross or break through some doors in order to proceed.
  • Pay close attention to the mini-map and the paths it shows.
  • The Wings of Haste Pet Perk may help cross distances faster.
  • If you get stuck, there are alternative ways of escaping. They include:

  • It is recommended to not kill off the few initial Monsters while planning to L-Rod as this will cause more monsters to spawn.
