Lifeline System

  • In Glenn Bearna, each player is paired with another player from their Party.
    • Players in the Day Timeline will be randomly Partnered with players in the Night Timeline.
    • If an odd-number of players enter Glenn Bearna, one player will not fully benefit from the Lifeline System.
      • Their Lifeline Health Bar will only consist of their own Health Points multiplied and they will be helpless against certain Partner-based mechanics.
  • Lifeline Partners will share a Lifeline Health Bar.
    • The Lifeline Health Bar appears in the upper left and comprises of a combination of both players' Health Points.
      • On Normal Difficulty, the Lifeline Health Bar is the sum of both players' Health Points multiplied by three.
      • On Hard Difficulty, the Lifeline Health Bar is the sum of both players' Health Points multiplied by two.
      • Using a Glenn Bearna Bonus Lifeline Health Coupon before entering Glenn Bearna increases your Lifeline Health by 20%, stacking to 40% if your Lifeline Partner has also used a coupon.
    • Party Members can view the Lifeline Health of other Lifeline Partners by examining the Pairing Life Heart Icon.png Hearts on the left side of the screen.
  • The Lifeline Health Bar's Pairing Life will decrease only under certain circumstances.

      • Damage taken every half second?? is 10 on Normal Difficulty and 30 on Hard Difficulty.
      • Additionally, the protection? of all players is decreased by 5? on Normal Difficulty and 150? on Hard Difficulty during this time.

    • Players with the Harmonic Saint Arcana and Link 10 have access to Steadfast Soul and can revive once (despite 0% Lifeline Health) in a run instance. This has a 1 hour cooldown and cannot be used a second time in the same run instance.

Day and Night Timelines

Symbols showing Day and Night Partners their locations.
  • Glenn Bearna takes place in two Paradoxical Timelines: Day and Night.
    • Players can choose either Timeline immediately after entering Glenn Bearna.
    • Overall, the Day and Night Timelines do not have unique mechanics but will rather accomplish similar feats in different orders.
      • However, players should consider who to send to which Timeline as each Timeline will have to be able to complete large portions of Glenn Bearna without the other.
  • Players in the Day Timeline will have Lifeline Partners in the Night Timeline.
    • During Rooms 1 through 3, neither Timeline will be able to view the other.
      • Lifeline Partners will only know where their partner is by a Day/Night Symbol on the ground and the Mini-Map.
  • Some Monsters in Glenn Bearna can teleport between the two Timelines at will.

Talent Resistance

  • Some Monsters in Glenn Bearna have Talent Resistance, where it will gain resistances to all Skills belonging to Talents previously used on it.
    • Damage is reduced by 50%? per stack, up to a maximum of ? stacks.
    • Monsters include: Carnivorous Snowtraps.

Unknown Reality

  • In the already mystical Glenn Bearna there exists a colorless warped area known as the Unknown Reality.
    • Players in the Unknown Reality are affected by the Temporal Rewind status and will rapidly lose 3%? Health, Mana, and Stamina every second in a method similar to the aftereffect of being hit by the Grim Reaper.
    • Players in the Unknown Reality cannot consume food or potions.

Room Types

Frozen Lake Entrance

  • Players will be asked to stand on either of the Glyphs of the Day or Night Timelines.
    • The Glyph players stand on will decide the version of Glenn Bearna they encounter for this attempt.
    • If there is an odd-number of players, the final player can join either Timeline after other players have been Partnered by the Lifeline System.
  • After players select their Timelines and become Partnered, Cailleach will rush the Party.
    • When Cailleach is reduced to 95% HP, Cailleach will sweep all players into their selected Timelines.

Room 1

  • Phase 1:
    • The Party's two Timelines will be separated.
    • (Normal Only) A lone Fianna Geimhridh will spawn in both Timelines.
      • (Normal Only) The first wave of Monsters will not spawn until the first Fianna Geimhridh is defeated or the Paradox Correction Bar is at 20%.
      • Killing a Fianna Geimhridh in any of Rooms 1~3 will reward whoever killed it a special Glenn Bearna Firewood Icon.png Firewood (Day Timeline) or Glenn Bearna Ember Icon.png Ember (Night Timeline).
      • Successfully using Counterattack against the Fianna Geimhridh in any of Rooms 1~3 can cause a Key to drop that unlocks a Hidden Room.
        • In any of Rooms 1~3 the Fianna Geimhridh will only aggressively attack those with a Firewood or Ember.
        • Fianna Geimhridh that successfully Charge at a Player will steal some of that Player's Firewood/Embers or Hidden Room Keys.
    • To clear this Phase, the Party must fill the single Paradox Correction Bar to 100%.
      • In this Phase, the Paradox Correction Bar will fill when either Timeline successfully defeats Monsters marked with the Glyph of their Timeline.
  • (Hard Only) Phase 2:
    • To clear this Phase, the Party must fill each of the Paradox Correction Bars to 100%.
      • In this Phase, a Timeline's Paradox Correction Bar will fill when that Timeline successfully defeats Monsters marked with the Glyph of their Timeline.

        • (Normal Only) The Man-Eating Snowtrap takes full damage to the next attack from the other Timeline.
        • (Hard Only) The Man-Eating Snowtrap needs to be hit 3 times in the other Timeline in order for it to take full damage from the next attack in the first Timeline.

    • Ember Sprites will eventually detonate, forming a large circle on the ground.
      • When the inner light-red circle reaches the outer circle, the Ember Sprite will Self-Destruct. ???
  • Ice Spike Traps will occasionally form as smallish circles with a reticle on the ground.
    • When the inner red circle reaches the outer circle, if a pair of Lifeline Partners are both in the circle the Trap will send out an icicle and deal fixed? damage. ???
      • Otherwise, it does nothing.

Trivia

  • Glenn Bearna are Irish words for glen or valley and gap or breach, respectively.
    • Loiscneach recognizes this as the "old tongue" and agrees that it would possibly mean "valley of the breach".
  • A vocal version of the Reverie Cailleach boss theme has been released in Korea, sung by south korean singer HYNN (박혜원). These lyrics were not translated by the NA servers.
  • Adniel's Horn Bugle can be used throughout Glenn Bearna.
