Lycanthrope (Family)

Basic Description

• Lycanthropes, also known as Lycans or Wolfman, are powerful white-colored Werewolves. However, there are many differences between a regular Werewolf and a Lycanthrope.
• Lycanthropes are known to speak, usually commenting on their opponent's skill.
• Lycanthropes have a chance to Level Up and heal completely when hit with any attack except Windmill while in Combat Stance. This includes Final Hit, even if the user is Dual Wielding, and Bash.
• Successfully taming one grants a temporarily stat boost of +2 Max HP, +4 Max MP, and +3 Luck to the player.

Notes & Advice Notes Lycanthrope only multi-aggro with the ones that have different colored manes. They have only been observed to appear in groups that have similarly colored manes in Baol Final. Advice Use Windmill repeatedly. If your Windmill rank is low, you will probably need to have your party members assist you. It is also possible to N+Windmill it, as long as one person is attempting it at a time. A successful 1+Windmill only knocks it back with Windmill, preventing it from leveling up from the first normal attack. Doppleganger and Kunai Storm can also deal damage without it leveling up. A high-rank Smash may be used as the first hit to deal large damage or possibly kill it.

Notes & Advice Notes Has Heavy Stander, unlike "normal" Lycanthropes. As it is a higher leveled version of normal Lycans, it tends to take longer to level even before the initial exp increase, however the consequences are more dire should it level up. Advice Smash may be used as a first hit, otherwise any attacks besides Windmill may cause it to "level up" and recover HP. If it happens to defend, using Icebolt may cancel its skill, allowing you to safely Windmill it. Be aware that they attack with the Gorgons they spawn with. Attack separately. Flame Burst is also advisable, as cancelling the attack before the last hit will not level up the Lycanthrope.

• Previously, the Lycanthrope had a coal skin color. This was erroneously changed to an alabaster skin color with the 2021 Beauty Update.
• Pennar's dialog box labels him as an Wolfman when he first appears.
