Two are my spirit weapons were up to the Fifth calling ego quest. The requirement is "Complete any Elite Shadow Mission". I put one weapon in the primary slot, the other in the secondary slot, and completed an Elite Shadow Mission. This successfully completed the ego quest for both weapons, so it is possible to complete the fifth calling quest for two weapons at once.
After doing that I thought: Some ego quests explicitly say the spirit weapon MUST be used. For example, the first calling quest: "Defeat 50 monsters with NAME." But others, like the fifth calling quest don't. So maybe completing the elite dungeon would have completed the ego quest for both weapons even I didn't have them both equipped, so it would even be possible to complete the fifth calling quest for more than two spirit weapons at once.
Completing ego quests for multiple weapons simulteneously is an efficient strategy, so the section of this wiki page dealing with the ego quests should clarify whether the weapons need to be equipped for quests like the fifth calling. I don't currently have any spirit weapons at a point where I can test this. I'll get around to it eventually, but if anyone beats me to it, feel free to post your findings here and update the page.
I have all of them after searching though my Mabinogi Art folder on my laptop x.x...think it'd be appropriate to incorporate them on here?
Well done. You'll be well appreciated for this, Lexis.
I, for one, was curious of their full-body image.
lol no problem.
All NPCs have full body portraits that exist somewhere...I just remember googling "Mabinogi Full Body Ego Portraits" or something of the latter and found a zip archive.
whether these ego portraits got released in an art book, or the korean site, I do not know. Perhaps the artist has a blog somewhere?
Similar to the chapter 1 renewal this information now only applies to classic spirit weapons, and not those converted or created starting with G24. Because of this, I have changed the name of the page and replaced the header to reflect the actual "feature removed" status and created a "spirit ascension" page specifically for documenting the updated information while minimizing any potential confusion between the two systems. It would also be appreciated if all further updates and information on the subject are directed to the new page created specifically for the G24 version of this feature.
I was a little lazy when I added that header, and hadn't seen you had started. Some things to note: "Spirit Weapon" should redirect to both new and old weapons, or to new weapons with a link at the top to classic ones. Likewise the header should be added to New Spirit Weapons. Perhaps a better page name convention would be Spirit Weapons (Classic) & Spirit Weapons (Ascended) but I'm not entirely self-convinced either.
At the same time we basically have to go by official names around here. One time someone tried that with a sword that used to be misnamed (it has since been renamed completely) and the mods decided from that to require the use of the in-game name of items, weapons and features to avoid confusion. In this case the name is Classic Spirit Weapons and the new system is part of Ascension so that's what I am using for differential between the old and new systems unless someone else says otherwise.
I also added the discontinuation notice to pages for the items that are affected by this (specifically the ones from the cash shop) and the restorative liqueur basically needs to have its page removed or the banner setup modified to allow for the accommodation of items which no longer exist after certain feature changes (and I currently have a "disregard disclosure" posted in its effects of the update section because of this). Likewise I added a statement regarding the new information on the fact that it's still incomplete (unfortunately I didn't get a good look at the banner code or I would have probably been using that instead!) so basically it's already established that the updated information is still a work in progress.
Forgot to mention but I finished accounting for all the changes and items last night, and also managed to get all the redirects to work properly. I also completely replaced the restorative liquer page with a removal notice that's open to use in future situations involving hard discontinuations (meaning those where the item, quest or feature is removed for everyone and not just those who are still using the old method of doing things).
I went and updated the image displaying which colors are for which social levels. I made a couple of different versions...

- Black, plain: http://i.imgur.com/EUCd7lr.png
- White, light&codes: http://i.imgur.com/nZazGUp.png

... in case somebody thinks an alternate version would be better for some reason.

Someone should add this data to one of the spirit weapon pages. Internet access here is pretty limited.
Do the stats affect magic in any way, with the exception of Social and Chaincast? It boosts the physical weapon stats... which seems to be completely useless...
Weapon and str-based attack rate effects damage of all magic skills besides Hailstorm, though I do think Wand Egoes effect things other than jsut Chaincast for the basic three. I do not remember how or where that was found.
Str affects Magic damage of the same element to a certain degree (or healing if a healing wand is ego'd). There isn't a known formula.
All other stats function normally for balance, injury (lol...), and critical.
So for basic wands, I can expect some unspecified magic damage increase, but no casting speed or mp reduction, right?
Healing wand has some Mp reduction to some degree.
I noticed a few times that Berched will also do the spirit transfer thing. What sort of transfer does he do? I don't have the funds right now to test it myself.
Berched gives the brief details on transferring a spirit - as described in his book - while Tarlach uses this knowledge to do the actual process.
What are the materials he requires? If it is the same materials as Tarlach's, it may be possible that he does the same transfer.
If I spirit transfer an ego from one weapon to another, does the new spirit weapon have the reforges of the new weapon?
You'll get a clean, base stat weapon upon returning the weapon to you. Same colors, dyes, etc. Just no reforges. I mean this is good for those spirit dye-only flashys, but other than that, you're wasting social lvls just for reforges :x
You do get the weapon back with its reforges.
- And the weapon you change into a Spirit weapon also keeps its reforges.
Do you? I've never really reforged anything I ego, so I thought I got it back unforged. :x That sort of clear it up?
Yeah, reforges never change when transferring, the fact that some people eventually ended up with a blank Rank 3 Reforge ego was because of a bug, which was fixed a few weeks before Fine and Credne Reforges were implemented.
Wait...is the reforge the same as it is on the ego? or prior to that? I'm not sure...and yeah I heard about that when reforges first came out.
Uh, I don't really get what you are asking, but let's say you have the following:
- Regular Gladuis - Smash Damage Level 3 Reforge.
- Spirit Bastard Sword - Max Injury Rate Level 2 Reforge.
After transfering, this becomes:
- Spirit Gladius - Smash Damage Level 3 Reforge.
- Regular Bastard Sword - Max Injury Rate Level 2 Reforge.
Dunno if that cleared anything up.
You're sure of this?
It's what I originally expected to be the case, but I wanted to make sure.
I'm 100% sure, I have a lot of spirit transfers behind me.
Well that explains ego transfers...I'm guessing it applies to weapon type switching to?
Looking around in the DLLs and noticed the following. At the following social levels, the following boost is given to Healing when using a healing wand ego.
Social | 1-4 | 5-9 | 10-14 | 15-19 | 20-24 | 25-29 | 30-34 | 35-39 | 40+ |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bonus | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
Huh, so it changes every 5 levels. Does it say anything else? Like how the ego's Mana Usage Reduction increases?--Iyasenu 19:58, 10 January 2011 (PST)
I don't think Mana usage increases. That's just a boost to the amount healed, like how you get +5 points if using a healing wand.
Oh I'm sure Mana Use goes down as the social level of a healing wand increases, in addition to getting a bonus to healing. I've got my own ego to test it.
With nothing on, other than my ego, rank 1 party healing uses 68 MP to cast, instead of the full 80. That's at social 22, though. At 21, it was slightly more mana, but still reduced from normal.
Can anyone confirm that Scimitars can be made into a spirit weapon? I've seen a lot of controversy, along with fake stats in 2 different locations. I would greatly appreciate if anyone has tried it in NA and could provide input.
Is it possible to transfer a spirit more than one time.
As in, lets say I wanted to recover a Wing Bow from its ego form as it is a rare weapon, but I wanted to make a blunt ego instead.
Not quite sure where the future content section would go, but I've got the NPC portraits for both male/female cylinder egos.
Whoa...Tower cylinder ego? o.o that seems hard to believe :x if a person did not complete all out attack, but egos a tower cylinder, would the bonuses still apply? (my initial answer is no.)
You would think they would but I am not entirely sure at all. We'll put a pin in this conversation until more information arises.
I have confirmed that cylinder egos add range and damage on top of the cylinders current (including towers), but still don't know if the bonus applies. I too am curious about that since my alchemist is stuck on Buchanan in the shadow realm....
Well here's a combo breaker.
Take bandages...lots of them. They'll use life drain to heal. After you clear a room heal them up.
Besides mine was on adv and I didn't have an RA to help either.
Not showing off but well, yeah.
You could just trap them behind the door, but stay close to the proximity of the door. They'll warp inside the room if you stray to far.
Call me crazy but it looks like you are better off egoing a cylinder if you are a fire alchemist...is 78% really the actual bonus o.e?
Can somebody add onto the other ego incarnations? Like, the image on the top right...
if you transfer and red and black llb ego into a regular one, i know u get the bow back and its base grade but will it still be red and black?
I'm a bit lost...so if you want to transfer to the same weapon type (sword to sword) you will have the weapon returned to you? I want to clarify since I'm thinking about getting a my cutlass and putting an ego into that.
I have a leather long bow ego and I want to transfer it to a colored leather long bow problem is the leather long bow had one less dura than the requiremnent. Does the spirit transfer on the same weapon still has to have the right dura applied? Example: The colored bow I have is 3/8 and the dura for ego is 9.
