First of all, the coupons for completing the event are not tradeable, lootable, mailable, they cannot be withdrawn from alt's bank nor placed in a house. (It was probably a given but I tried anyways)
Second of all, waiting for the last two hints before finishing dialogue does not let you get the prize in 'under a minute' however, the under a minute seems to end at around 1:30 time spent inside the shadow realm. Perhaps the devs decided to give us time to finish the dialogue? Or perhaps that is lag on my part? Can anyone verify?
Third, I'm working on a way of getting it under one minute the first try. So far, learning all the hints and then restarting doesn't work as all the features seem to be random. It seems to me that more often, the one you are looking for is in the very center of the starting crowd (one of those in the general center). I've found two in that general area so far. I will try to make a map of common spawn points but I don't know yet if he is just a random spawn all over the place.
I'm also looking for patterns in the feature scheme.
Its better when the NPCs are not walking, IE frozen by lag because all their movements are identical and random from what I could tell observing the correct one for a while.
I found HIM near the outer rim of where I entered. It'd probably be frustrating but you could always talk to one or two and then leave if they're wrong, and rinse and repeat that.
omg my head just exploded....oh wait. I can use this as a checklist 8D...only being able to probably check off a few before restarting...AP me qq
1/17 chance. That's not so bad... is it?
Except that on top of the ~5% chance, it's timed, it costs valuable time to jiggle around and find the eyes in the first place, and every wrong guess costs you 3-5 seconds just to get back to where you were, and they're moving. Rigged game is rigged.
Oh boy, this is harder than I thought. OMG STAP WALKING!
How much harder is Find Waldo than this?
Well it would be easier for a female to do than a male, as females look at entire pictures whereas males look at details, btu the fact that they're all smushed together and you are looking for very specific details, Find Waldo is much easier. But this event is just try and guess, because you are not given all the details until the very end.
"females look at entire pictures whereas males look at details"
wouldnt that make it easier for MALES since you have to look for specific details?
Not quite, if you send a guy to look for milk in a refrigerator, it will take a while unless he stands REALLY far form the doorway. Males would be looking at part of objects, rather than the entire thing. Males would be quicker to find if a milk is nonfat or half and half, but females would be faster to find the milk itself.
Not to mention the hats make the hair cover his eyes
Running this about 4 times a day and I noticed something when there's monster lag (when they don't move).
- Normal Joes have Tired eyes and Innocent eyes. There isn't anything special among them.
- Tork Blacksmiths Joes have Tired eyes and Empty eyes. There isn't anything special among them.
- Aladdin Joes have Tired eyes and Empty eyes. There is only one with a pillow in his hand and O signal in his hand have Innocent eyes.
- Star-Shaped Wizard Joes have Innocent and pure look eyes and only the one whit X Signal in his hand and a glove have Sleepy-as-alway's Look eyes.
- Santa Joes have Innocent Eyes, except for the one with Red Reindeer Antler Headband, who have Tired eyes.
- Carpenter Joes have Empty eyes, except for the one with a Fishing Rod in his hand, who have Tired eyes.
Just weird observations :x
All of which were easily observed in the pastebin and no real use Thread:Talk:Find Caravan Joe/Methods/reply (4)
I barely used it :c so I didn't look back at it often.
I can use a human and run out to talk to 4 NPCs before the 1 minute duration is up. And since it's 1/17th of a chance, being able to talk to 4 of them raises it to 4/17, or 23.5% chance for it to be the real one.
A Giant's speed is roughly similar or faster to a human, though that small speed boost won't be a huge effect as a elf.
On a elf you can probably talk to 4-5 of them, raising that up to 5/17 or 29.4% chance. If you get lucky and most of the targets are near the front, you can talk to 5-6 of them, raising the chance to 6/17 oor 35% chance that it's one of them...
Basically, any of the npcs you talk to is closer to your spawn, the more 'dialogues' you can trigger. But Walking NPCs makes it 2x harder than Stationary ones as they can confuse you on which ones that aren't talked to and which one you already talked to.
The clues pops up based on ingame time I'm guessing... When it showed the 1 minute elapse time and I talked to the right NPC a bit afterwards, it still counts as 1 minute. Meaning the 'time' that it takes to get the base rewards, is real time, whilst the clues are shadow mission time...
so additional runs dont give ap gold and exp, so what about the boxes? how many times can you do to get multiple training items?
EDIT: Nvm, 1 run for everything that's awarded, except the medal. Re-running it after getting the medal may get you another one?
Where do you trade multiple medals in for a coupon?
Or, if that isn't possible, why would you want multiple medals?
You get multiple medals, which can be exchanged for Transformation Medal Coupon thingy, not another Joe Coupon. That was my bad for assuming. never used a trans medal before, so never saw that option to dismantle it for a medal coupon to get another random one after stacking 3.
Potentially, you can get more NPCs medals just by exchanging 3 Caravan Joe ones...but I don't see myself doign that :s
Its exclusive to the item, not the event. What happens is that when you use a medal for a form you already have, you get a prompt that gives you a medal coupon (not the one from this event) and if you stack three of those you get a new completely random medal. Correct me if I'm wrong but that medal doesn't include ones listed Limited Time (Morrighan for example), event, and Saga.
You guys don't use the Saga medals?
No I do not. I told myself to hold off on NPCs and just continue to passively rank Trans mastery and getting previous collections...off-topic, someone in alexina let me borrow a dull weeding hoe.
Green Sacer-some-funny-name-that's-hard-to-pronounce? Either buy a dull weeding hoe or ask a friend who can get the passes to drop you in the dungeon.
What Infodude described was what I was wondering about.
I haven't done saga nearly enough to have repeats of the saga medals.
You don't have to have the medal in possession to make a coupon, just right click it. Also, stacking three doesn't automatically turn into a medal. You have to stack three medal coupons (which look like 1x1 broken medals) and right click-use (or ctrl click). It is true that saga and event medals are not included, but I am not sure about limited time like morrighan, as Infodude suggested.
From what I noticed, all the transformation medals outside of sagas have yet to come up on anything tagged "Limited NPC" in the diary. I've seen about a few hundred for when I was looking for other medals for certain NPCs.
We still have no way to prove this, so we are not allowed to say it without claiming it is not a proven fact.
Let's then say... While we don't have conclusive evidence, it would most likely be that you can not get limited medals from turning other medals.
Limited Time came from a gachapon/event, right?
Also, Caravan Joe also has the "Limited" tag in the diary, what are the possibilities of getting him?
What is the prize for repeating it and getting Joe under 1 minute? There's no way its 15 AP each time, so from reading it seems it's just 1x Medal. Clarification needed quick, leaving it edited on the assumption for now.
Also is the <1 minute prize, 25k gold, in a Big Gold Pouch or several small ones? I'd guess its Big but need clarification again. mfw I didnt realize you could exit and retry
After the first successful run, you are only eligble to obtain the medal, nothing more, nothing less. It comes it a large pouch for anything 10K+
Whether or not if it resets every day we don't know.
EDIT: 12:00 am? Not 7:00 am, the usual reset time?
Appearnenly that's what Swiss put. I only changed it to the times template o-o. I shall confirm shortly. no go.
Swiss probably didn't do it before the maintenance. I don't blame her though, mistakes happen and we all have super busy schedules that makes us lose track of something.
Anyway 15 AP per day does seem pretty bogus. Hopefully its Nexon's way of saying "Happy New Years" or "Sorry Holiday Hide & Seek doesn't give you Daily AP, so we're compensating with this event".
lol...I've gotten 4 AP pots over the course of the holiday event. 1, 30, 16, 7...no it did not help my AP needs. kinda stupid you can get 1 AP from a complete box
Most resets occur at 7:00 am, and very few daily quests reset at midnight. I don't remember an event ever resetting at midnight though.
Do we have a page that illustrate the eyes (and on a side note the hair and facial features) of a generated human (side note, elves and giants too)? Appearance just has body weight.
At one point, I started Giant looks, but stopped when I realized I had to keep everything a consistent zoom, something I messed on numerous occasions. The cropping was terrible too...I could pick up it up again, but it is a lot to do for on person, keeping it a consistent crop and what not.
I could upload eye and mouth textures, but face models, hair models, and hair/eye/skin colors would need to be done manually. Tell me if you want me to upload them.
By the way, this event does not use the same names as what the eyes are really called, and keep in mind colors also have names.
Eyes, headgear, and outfit...or w/e the three hints are.
As far as the gallery for looks, I am working on that right now. Thank god it is much easier with the dressing room 8D...(no it's not, multiple images D:)
Question, are the textures colorless? if they are, it might obscure some details.
I made a sandbox that has yet to be filled with names. I won't start uploading until I fill in all the names and take manual screenshots compiled into a PSD just to ensure proper cropping.
(o -o)=b
why is the fishing rod with the headgears...?
It is possible to receive the second and third hints before the first hint if one does not finish the initial dialog.
Hints are on a timer and automatically pop up, regardless of location, what you're doing...etc.
2 days in, about 6 runs done and I believe you get some leeway for reading the dialogue box.
I ran the event a few times, I always received eyes, as the hint.
I did not run long enough to see if you receive further hints.
So if you fail and try again, are you still legible for the rewards?
So long as you don't finish the 'mission' as it's a shadow mission, yes you can quit the mission and talk to the npc again.
Once you 'finish' it by talking to the correct NPC, the event gives you that reward, based on the time and doesn't give it again if you get a better time.
Does the time tick down after starting the mission or after closing the intro dialogue?
