Description

Adniel is the golden dragon who is said to be the fate of Iria. Reborn every thousands of years through the "Conduction Ceremony", Adniel aligns itself between good or evil, whoever its contractor is aligned to.

If one finishes Generation 8: Dragon and Generation 9: Alchemist, the player may use Adniel's Dragon Support to utilize its Meteor attack, inside Shadow Missions. If the player does not complete Generation 8 before going on to Generation 9, the action may only be used once against Claimh Solas during The Finale Shadow Mission.

Cromm Cruaich mentions that a person is tied to Adniel through a Conduction Ceremony every thousands of years. One such era was a person named Cessair, whose darkness swallowed the gold dragon and brought forth an era of eternal darkness known as the "Moonlight of Death", which was only cleansed by the Irinid.

According to Belita, the existence of the gold dragon is believed to be a legend. She mentions that Adniel is reborn every few thousand years, interpreted to be a process of some sort of symbolism rather than a physical phenomenon. She also mentions that the Conduction Ceremony involves a character who is chosen to be the dragon's Conductor, whose alignment with good or evil determines Adniel's alignment.

Generation 8: Dragon (Spoilers)

Cromm Cruaich attempts to summon Adniel using Ruairi as a Conductor. Belita feels that the Conduction Ceremony is drawing near due to the recent activity of the Blue and Red Dragons, and discovers that Zardine's ecosystem is affected by the ceremony.

Crumena later assists the Milletian by killing Wyverns surrounding their Hot-Air Balloon, stating that they were saved by Adniel's divine protection. Crumena then warns them of evil dragons trying to use the ceremony for their own purposes. However, this turns out to be a trick into getting the Milletian to help Crumena, as the Milletian inadvertently helps kill Cromm Cruaich, whom they mistake for an evil dragon.

Legatus informs the Milletian that the Red Dragons, who despised being sealed in Zardine by the Irinid, planned to use Adniel for their own gain. Legatus also tells the Milletian not to give up hope, as Ruairi landed somewhere near Raspa Volcano and survived. Upon reaching Ruairi, he informs the Milletian that his true duty of being in Iria was to lead Adniel's true conductor: the Milletian. Shortly after, the Milletian hears Adniel's voice saying the ceremony draws near; Legatus asks the Milletian if they are ready to accept their fate, and flies them to Renes.

The Milletian confronts Crumena, who is planning to use Atrata as a conductor and use her darkness to bring forth another Moonlight of Death to remove Irinid's curse. Taunes arrives to assist, but when Crumena's attack blinds him permanently, Atrata threatens to resign. She then assists Taunes by throwing her wind bell in front of Crumena, and by its sound, Taunes strikes in that direction and slays the red dragon. Ruairi and Legatus then arrive and witness Adniel hatching from an egg. However, the gold dragon warns the Milletian that the threat to Iria is not over, and flies off.

Generation 9: Alchemist (Spoilers)

Adniel telepathically warns the Milletian to defend the Soul Stream.

Later, Adniel requests the presence of the Milletian. The gold dragon then gives them a horn bugle to summon Adniel whenever in danger.

During the fight with Claimh Solas, after Leymore and Cai break open the shadow wall ceiling that confines both Claimh Solas and the Milletian, Leymore tells them to summon Adniel to pierce Claimh Solas' defenses.

The Saga: Iria (Spoilers)

Akule recognizes the Milletian as the gold dragon's conductor.

Shamala states that the Milletian receiving visions of the whereabouts of Millia, a character Akule entrusted the Milletian to safeguard as she is said to have divine potential that rivals the Irinid's, is the work of the gold dragon.

Tarlach and Ruairi, scheming to sever Erinn's connection to the Gods, confronts Adniel to take Renes as a base of operations. Tarlach informs the gold dragon of its conductor's "corruption" (possession by the Cessair), but Adniel, seemingly aware of Tarlach's and Ruairi's plans, warns them that they do not want to destroy Erinn. Tarlach replies that they are instead saving it, and Ruairi binds Adniel with his darkness. While being binded, Adniel notes that that this is just like the beginning (presumably referring to the Moonlight of Death, an era of darkness it caused long ago).

The Saga: Iria II (Spoilers)

Episode 6 - Ritual and Sacrifice

It is revealed that the Cessair and Cessair's Heart were the conductor of Adniel long ago, causing the "Moonlight of Death" that plunged the world into darkness, and summons the Gold Dragon to fight against the Milletian, Merlin, and Treasure Hunter. Because her spirit is still tied to Adniel, she controls him and uses him to attack her enemies, despite the Milletian being the current conductor. Upon her defeat, Heart vanishes along with Adniel.

• Despite Adniel saying that it can only be summoned in the Shadow Realm, it can be summoned in any instance of a Shadow Mission.
