Obtaining the Technique

• Complete the G22 quest: "The Lengthening Shadow"

Requirements

• Shield of Trust at Rank 1 or higher
• Defense (base) of 150 or higher
• Magic Defense (base) of 90 or higher

Tips

• Base Defense appears is the white-colored Stat shown in the Character Window.
  • The Defense skill adds to Base Defense, including Dan Ranks.
  • Strength affects Base Defense, even if the Strength comes from a modifier such as Enchants.
  • Will affects Base Magic Defense, even if the Will comes from a modifier such as Enchants.
  • See Skills that boost Strength, skills that boost Will, and their boosts from aging and leveling.
  • Equipment that boosts Defense or Magic Defense adds to their Base Stat.
• Light Armor Mastery and Heavy Armor Mastery contribute to Modified Stats.
• Totems uniquely boost Base Defense and Magic Defense.
• The Drosera and the Ancient Horned Ring Accessories can both add 6 Base Defense.
• Elf Characters can find the requirements daunting due to their racial disadvantages; using high-quality Light Armor is likely required early on.
  • The best early option is the Memorial Flower Set obtained from Blaanid during the Memory Book Sidequest.
