Gear will be categories as BIS Max Damage Builds > Special Builds > Very Niche Builds and will be told in each category, such as Healers having their own category even tho they are in the Magic Skill Tree, or like Knights with their Lance Skills being in the Combat and Archery.

Magic

Starting Game

Starting Gear Magic.

This gear is Legit just starting the game and strongly not advise doing, as the Next gear set up is easier and cost nothing to get into but if you really want to start somewhere well.

So this Gear set up is for players who either returned or started the game and got some gold by running with some friends but haven't started Blaanid, Now usually builds in this early game will be Chain Casting Wands and maybe looking into a different skill tree to try but if you really want to commit into Magic I strongly recommend trying to learn the first few spells such as all the elemental bolt spells and healing. But I do also recommend starting on your Staff Ego for that powerful Hailstorm set up that you can do quite early into the game! So look into doing ego spirit quest Spirit Weapon and while getting your ego to start learning the spell Ice Spear to get started on the early intermediate spells, I will also recommend asking for help as getting the pages for this spell can be quite trouble some for a few pages.

Memory Book Early Game

Blaanid Early Game Gear.

Great, you have either gotten far enough into blaanid where she has either given you a full set of armor or as early as Book 3! Where Blaanid is teaching you multiple skills and that also means you have learned pretty much all the bolt spells and have mastery in each elemental and Fusion bolt at rank 9 Which is a great starting point in the game!
In this stage of the game you have already learned about Shadow mission and some basics of main skills and life skills as well gotten your Staff/Wand started in the pools of Early game! So I won't go into to much details about that stuff, but I will give recommendations on what Dungeons and Shadow Missions to do as a New player.
Gear

So At this point of the game, the strongest recommendations I can give is the Dungeon Guide and the Potential System as both provide amazing boosting stats and rewards as well free pets! With this gear you will have no trouble completing the First Support Box for the first pet which is Alby Normal, then going to Math Advanced for the Second Support box! Now while you're completing those dungeons I strongly recommend looking into Ego Weapons as a Mage and looking towards even more Int spell than just Ice spear. Ice Spear is a great spell to learn first as it pauses most monsters this early in the game, however it is really harsh in party play and if you wish to play with more players I strongly recommend either starting to learn the other Int Spell such as Fireball and Thunder or go towards Hailstorm! And this is where the Choices of Weapons will come into play as well your Secondary Skill that can support your Magic skills.
Staff Users -
Staff users are strong in early game due to hailstorm and how fast it charges, and it requires a really low level ego for it as well! It doesn't even need its ultimate like other egos and can just get started with a Max Hailstorm Speed at level 25 Ego! But gaining a decent staff at this level might give some troubles as the staff you can gain right now is usually a Trinity Staff from NPC which are fine in their own and can go far into Elite Shadow Missions, but other staffs are out there to help support you better as they are considerably stronger!

I strongly recommend looking into completing Generation 19: The Divine Knights to get started on your Divine skills, even with a weak staff and starting gear you should be able to finish this Generation with a bit of help outside or with some potions on the side from any Healer Shops in the game. The aim once completing G19 is to either create the Original Sin Staff which will take some time as it does require killing Girgashi in multiple seasons or look for an easier route and creating one from Magic Craft and start training some life skills to create the Hermit Staff, Both options are great, and the staff are quite identical in manners of stats and Magic attack.
Wand Users -
I see you wanted to have more Defense and Protection to challenge harder stuff and still survive whiling having the ability to cast spells, This is a great opportunity to teach you how to become a great Fusion bolt caster in the Far future or have some amazing Burst damage early game.
Now from choosing a wand I strongly suggest looking into a Fire Wand over other wands as it is Cheaper than the rest, and It's easy to purchase from any Magic NPC for a small fee of course of 48,000 Gold. I strongly ill advice to purchase the flashier wand which is the Phoenix Fire Wand, but there's a reason why I placed it here and as well the other stronger version of these two the Savage Fire Wand so let me explain to them in more details here.
Fire Wand/Savage Fire Wand Fire Wand can be purchased from any Magic NPC for a small fee of 48,000 Gold which is honestly quite nice and easy gold to gain this early in the game as you will be completing multiple Shadow Missions and Dungeons but the stronger version of it is the Savage Fire Wand, created by Magic Craft and is more strongly recommend, but not necessary for the talk I am going to give here.
Both Wands can provide an upgrade that can Cast Multiple Bolts meaning when you charge a fire bolt you instead of just a measly one charge, it can charge up to five instead! And since Wands can equip Off-Hand items, a Shield is also strongly recommend to keep your Defense and Protection quite high! If you feel like your Mana is giving you a bit of trouble, however, then I strongly recommend looking into some Spell Books as they can provide some Mana Recover and a large Mana Pool. Your damage will be quite high and very powerful for early game and really goes well into mid-game as well, as a Fully charge fire bolt can really deal some well damage.
Phoenix Fire Wand I personally don't really recommend early Game Fusion bolt as it is powerful in early game and can really deal maybe the most damage out of your kit as of this moment, however it does have a really hard and I mean HARD requirement to even compare damage versus a staff user or a Bolt spammer, which is an Ego Level 63/75 which is basically unlocking Ultimate Spirit Weapon. Maybe stick to the Bolt Spells alone or Int Magic for now, as getting an Ultimate on a Spirit Weapon will take some time and will be better to aim for other gear/weapon at this point of the game, but it is an option to look into.

[1]Salvation Bow is placed behind Crossbow of Blossoming Memories just because it's already Reforged/Enchanted/and a lot easier to gain vs doing Girgashi however if you did lose it, I strongly recommended picking up Salvation bow for its easy Enchant and cheap cost.
[2] The Divine Crossbow Can hit higher than the Bhafel Hunter however in most situation this thing is pretty much a trap for most players as it's really expensive to build but the enchant for it is pretty cheap and great piercing.
[3] This bow is the Best in Slot for KR server. It is way too expensive to build in any other server and just simply not worth the cost vs Demolition Weapon.

Staff

[1] I will cover this weapon in more details in the "Healer" Section but as of this moment this staff is in a odd spot where it cost a bit more than the Celtic Druid Staff but has basically the same Magic Attack as the Original Sin Staff but has the option to Party Heal, but I would recommend skipping this staff and go to the Celtic Guardian Staff duo to the cost.
[2] This Staff is the Best in Slot for KR server. It is way too expensive to build in any other server and just simply not worth the cost vs Demolition Weapon.

Wand

[1] This Wand already comes with +4 Chain Bolt upgrade and is going to be your best friend for the most part as you can now spam Fire bolt with it and is a great source of damage.

Notes:
[1] So Celtic Guardian Staff Can cast Party Heal and is a great option to have for Damage and Healing, however does not receive any form of bonuses of Healing.
[2] This provides bonus healing and can get Healing reforges and casting speed twice as much as a wand!
[3] So...yes this is a Lord of Ruination Staff and Yes you can Party Heal with it and honestly if you Blue upgrade it and give it Casting Speed Reforge it fights the healing wand pretty well due to its large Magic Attack and cause of the amount of damage it can place it's an excellent option for Supporting mages who wish to deal damage and heal at the same time while not losing the cost of a slot.

Alchemy

Notes:
[1] This Cylinder is generally given away in Events, however at this state of the game you should have Cylinder of Blossoming Memories and both are great for Rain Casting without needing a reforge for CD, however it does have signets to bring down Chain Cylinder CD, so it is better than Cylinder of Blossoming Memories however I strongly recommend not getting this weapon and upgrading it and signet it as its cheaper and more effective to get Revenant Insight Cylinder.
[2] Perseus is only here cause it gives the Hero Set Effect that brings down CD for Hydra Transmutation and deals more damage than Revenant Insight Cylinder Personally I think Alchemy kind of stops here as you can gain all the damage from Enchants and Erg and the little extra bit it does is just not worth it for the cost. No, am not gonna talk about the other 2 skills it effects. No.
[3] So this weapon as of this moment in NA is just simply more alchemy damage than Perseus, However it is getting a buff with even more Alchemy Damage and 1 Piercing making it the best Cylinder.

Fighter

[1] This weapon can be better then the next tier weapon due to the signets how ever it is really hard to apply the signets so if you have time and the signets stick to these untill Divine Cinnsealach L2.
[2] So Taunes MK3 are really, REALLY good like I mean. REALLY GOOD. These bad bois can hit max DMG as the same as Divine Cinnsealach L2. HOWEVER, They are horrible auto attacks and really fall behind at this point in the game as most players in this part of the game of entry mid-game would like to auto and use that weapon and also due to its low ammo it's a pretty hard upkeep weapon so keep that in mind when using this weapon.
[3] Divine Cinnsealach L2 get the best of both worlds of Celtic Dowra Ace Speed and Taunes MK3 DMG and a exclusive enchant!

[4] This sword is quite decent as its job, to poison targets and that's it. No, it doesn't need to do more.

Bow/Crossbow

[1] You get this bow from Leveling up, from the Potential System in the Nao Resplendent Equipment Box and is already enchanted and upgraded, I strongly recommend just keeping this bow tell you continue with Memory Book to get the Crossbow of Blossoming Memories.
[2] Now I know Forest Ranger and Masterpiece bow have piercing and are better than Highlander Long Bow/Demonic Infinite Bow/Salvation Bow However gaining these weapons do require a high amount of gold/ducats and are really kind of out of the way, and it's better to get a cheap Bohemian set while getting a Bhafel Hunter and is the only reason why they are here in the side grade list.
