Please remember that there is a 10 image limit for your wiki user page. If you cannot follow those rules some will have to be deleted.
The rule is stated in the Policy:
- The allowed limit on user page pictures is 10 images totaling up to 3,000 KB. If you upload beyond this limit, some pictures will be deleted.
- Images that are used to help the wiki or other users (e.g. guides) will not count towards this limit.
- Do's and Don't's Policies apply; userpage images should be mabinogi-related.
Thank you!
Current image sizes total to 3245KB current, and it well exceeds the limit in terms of replacements. I should probably check mine...I know one is like, 800KB.
3224KB is alright? I had a feeling I would get informed about the amount of images I have and thank you for doing so I was really curious and confused. Since I have ten right now, is that fine or does it need to be less than 10? Plus, can I change the images rather than adding onto it instead?
I would believe you can change them o-o that's what I do. Angevon said in another talk that they aren't too strict about the rule at the moment anyways xD
Technically the limit doens't matter, but try to refrain from uploading large images on User pages.
Remember to keep it consistent, also its best to have no stockings/socks for shoes and boots, so would you mind doing them over? :o
The thing is that I didn't model the boots, but I will keep it consistent. Also I will ask the girl who modeled them for me about doing them over.
The thing about getting a model to help with images is that you gotta get it right the first time, otherwise you may have no chance at fixing the mistakes you made.
Exactly what Seecret said! Luckily most of the models I find are very helpful and are glad to fix the mistakes I made (most of the time v.v)
Please purge your cache (shift/ctrl+f5 on most browsers or button next to view history -> purge) before reuploading the same image twice.
Please do not upload images that do not have anything to do with Mabinogi or anything associated with Mabinogi.
Replace the other picture too, for consistency as that is always neccesary.Royal Pumpkin Rapier
Also I wanted to know, do you use pictures that are taken in-game and are uploaded in the mabi folder? :o
It sounds weird by asking but could you explain to me about the consistency of the photos? Never really understood that. Also yes, I do use the photos that are taken in game and uploaded in the mabinogi folder.
^^ ok, consistency as in uploading all the pictures. Like how you uploaded the Rapier. To keep that consistent you should also replace the sheathed version too. Keeping the same color, backround, clothes even is the way to keep it consistent. So right now both the orginal version that was uploaded isn't as great either since the clothes switching causes distactions. So now upload that sheathed version.
For the second thing, I needed to ask that because a lot of your pictures have been jpgs converted to png x-x;. I was doing the same thing for awhile until I found a good guide:LexisMikaya's Images Guide This really helped me :)
Re-saving a .jpg as a .png never works, and if you prntscrn to take your images they automatically become natural .jpg files, meaning you cant just make it a .png because it keeps the grainy quality of a .jpg
I'm reading the guide LexisMikaya made and for the images and I'm just confused about it. I'm more confused on how do you get it to be a natural .png file. The guide I'm looking at says "This is for Windows Vista and 7 Users only." and I do not have either.
That is if Mabinogi is the main window. Usually I go to window mode and make the Mabinogi window stretched so that all that is showing is Mabinogi and my tool bar. Then I click the toolbar, and press prntscrn and then paste it to paint for cropping and save it as a png. Of course Snipping tool is also a helpful program as it captures pics and you can just crop it from there and save as a png.
Hmm mabye it has changed around but i've looked at the guide to help me and I do run on xp. I will take another look
I would say that the snipping tool would be a LOT easier to use since you can just crop it right off the screen and save it as a natural png. To use it with a desktop just window mabinogi, click your taskbar, press prntscrn, and paste it into any paint program you have as toto said, then crop and save as a png.
I did the method that you both said and it is up for Red Succubus Helmet I just want to know if it is done well
Yes the quality is good, but x-x; I forgot to mention to turn off:Film Style poster shade in the options menu(Video Tab), and Outline Rendering(Effects tab) as those will make an even better improvement to pictures ^^;.
Yea they do seem small..try a bit more zoom? Much zoom isn't needed but in this case those are too small ^^;
Hmm, use the screenshot mode to fix the camera, then make your character move foward to make close ups. If you did do that, X-X; my bad again xD..
Edit:Use the keyboard and set buttons for character movement to make it easier/
I have to check if the girl is on for me to try and replace the rapier (most of the models in my photos aren't me, they are the other friendly Alexina players)
Also I zoomed in much more for the Red Succubus Helmet !
Would you happen to have a facebook? o:
Well I do have two; One for me to stay in contact with relatives and school friends and the other for the friends I meet right here online. The one for online (I normally call my mabinogi facebook) is "BOMTAR0" (the username).
And does that mean your Skype is "vannieboo" ? o:
Oh! I was just making sure. Because I thought I saw you on facebook somewhere, saying you wanted to replace some images on the wiki for no good reason, except for disliking someone. Hmm. I just found it interesting. lawl.
Oh don't mind my facebook rants, a bunch of my close friends were on that page and yuh v_____v... (feelings do change over the time!) Just to clear it up my behavior is different when I speak on facebook because I'm much more comfortable and I take the people here on wiki more serious.
I'm kind of lawling, don't mind me.
Please keep in mind that the "&-39;s" appears in place of the apostrophe. You must manually change the "&-39;s" to an " ' " after selecting the file you wish to upload.
Oh, thank you for messaging me about this. I did see that some people in my server got items from the gachapon and there was no page for it so I made it. For the photo parts I really didn't understand what those meant, but thanks again for messaging me about it.
It's an issue with the file name generator. Just keep this in mind when uploading anything with an apostrophe in it.
Took the courtesy of messaging you here, considering the flattery on your userpage. Since I noticed the reverts again, I went and replaced the Pajama Set photos myself. Your useless reverts were making the photos inconsistent with one another. It makes things look sloppy. You mentioned that your photos were said to be jpeg images, and claim they had a .png tag. Yes, they had the tag, but they were not natural .png files, and just by looking, you can indeed see the grains. You need to be consistent with files so the wiki itself isn't sloppy, and consistency is one of the things that the Admins recommend, as well as non-grainy photos. The game auto-saves screenshots as jpeg images, so chances are, you got a jpeg image and just saved it as a png. I may not be able to get large zoom, but I replaced them just to stop the silly issue. There is no need to revert them again, and I will say there wasn't really a need to replace Seecret's either. I'm sure the human eye knows symmetry, and I am sure DevCat and Nexon make most of their outfits symmetrical, and we can tell that one strap is the same exact design on the other side for that outfit. The hair wasn't all that distracting. The reverts were getting sickening, and I hate seeing them. So please stop it. Kaythanks.
I didn't think it would upset or bother anyone. Besides, my last revert was my last try with it all. All the contributes I could really do is the ones I shouldn't fight over them. I am terribly sorry to be bothering you with reverting, it is the part of me where I get really competitive, and I promise you I won't show it again. I'm sorry again to waste your time, really am.
Yes, I think I shall intrude on this topic. Though reprimanding Vanstina was appropriate, I find that your attitude towards her to be very revolting. In my own opinion, people who have attitudes like you Anemki just scare away innocent people who just want to contribute to this wiki. Being truthful doesn't mean that you should add hurtful words with a tone like that. This wiki should have some unity, and should help guide new editors, such as Vanstina who first started contributing around May of 2011.
I'm very, very sorry about it all. I do agree with you that my behavior was wrong, and I should never have complained in the first place. I didn't think twice about it all, and I should have.
Personally Vanstina, I believe you have been reprimanded enough. Though to answer any questions you may have,I think you should look at this page: http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=Wiki_Tips_for_New_Editors ; Its really helpful! If you have any other editing/etc questions, feel free to ask any person on the wiki.
I normally don't do these things, but it was getting pretty out of hand. I usually don't even participate in revert wars, either. It's perfectly fine now, because it's over, and I probably won't say anything about it again. Photos are really easy to capture without taking screenshots, you just need to know how to do it.
Oh, and this too: Image Policy.
Mind retaking the screenshots of the beach sandals with outline rendering off and taking the screenshots at the appropriate angles? They're better quality than the previous ones, but if you're going to replace one image, you might as well replace all four.
Nevermind, I thought you were the one that originally uploaded the previous image x.x;
Can you redo the male version of "I <3 You" with the name off? o -o Ctrl+N hides your IGN. Thanks~ :)
Hey, just giving you a little tip about wigs. Since wigs are considered hats it is actually best to 1. Zoom in fully 2. Use a handy little tool if you can called the snipping tool, otherwise use the prntscrn+paint program trick. Bottom line is it would be best if you could make it so that less of you body shows as much as possible. JUST the wig.
That's exactly what I meant in another post! thanks though sis <3 and If you cant get it again I can upload some..
Oh, I didn't know much about what to do. Thanks for the tip tho, I'll be sure to do that next time uploading a picture with a wig =o.
Please read the image policy regarding black and white color schemes and lighting quality. Your images on the slippers were reverted for bad lighting. Your images for the clear umbrella were reverted for using black. Also please be aware it is against policy to replace policy abiding images.
There is a link in the bottom right of that quote that leads you directly to the Image section of the Wiki's policy, and the Wiki Policy's link can also be found on the left of every page.
Can you please retake those images and initially save them as a png rather than a jpg then changing them to png? There seems to be slight discoloration.
I also have a suggestion, if you could please zoom into your face more instead of showing your whole body?
The wig kinda...engulfs the whole body so to speak...I'l just retake using the same method, but crop the legs out to where the bottom of the wig is.
Edit: If you don't mind, can you use a taller character? It'll be a bit easier on the cropping so that less of the body shows. Since the primary focus would be the Kusina Wig, try to not have a full body picture, if possible.
For the pictures you just uploaded that's kinda really faded, like , can you quickly retake them so that they're not so, er, whited out?
And I believe the wiki policy, when suggesting pictures be taken in the Dunbarton Library, actually meant the entrance to the school, not the actual library itself, which is probably what allowed so much sunlight in. And besides, the black doorways to Stewart's room/Scary Library provides a very nice backdrop.
Thank you very much.
I do my best like everyone else, but some moderators are very picky. I was trying to fix something and actually learn more on how to make edits. Just like everyone ELSE, I do MY BEST.
