Laghodessa? Someone needs to get fired. ~KitaeK27

Hey, Nexon America did a very good job on translating. At least we haven't seen Shakespeare's Fibers yet. --Kakurady 06:45, 26 February 2008 (PST)

Does anyone know if the completed book is tradeable? Sogard6 17:33, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

  • No, it isn't tradable at all. -- Miyuna

Does Fireball act similar to Firebolt at Rank 1?

I know that other advance spells act like their lesser counterpart (like at Rank 1 Thunder, you won't lose any charge upon being hit however when knocked back you only lose one charge) so does this mean that Fireball doesn't lose any charges upon being knocked back? -- Miyuna

Mana use

Hey, I noticed that my Fireball seems to take more than 125MP for a full charge~ I dunno if it's because mine is E and there's only information on F, but.. mine seems to take around 133MP or so. I know with all that mana being used in the first place, it's a very minor detail, but I just thought I'd inform everyone O:

  • I've noticed this as well. I never got around to getting Fireball until recently, so it's only at Rank C, but I noticed that it takes about 143 mana for 5 charges...which leads me to believe that the mana cost increases as the rank goes up. I'll try to find out more from some of the people I know with high ranked Fireball. -- Compwiz 07:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

I have rank 9 fireball and the charge is still 125 mana for me. But from what I figured out, the only one who had to use more mana to "charge" are the ones with lag or those from far off server. I have a friend who lives in the Eastern part of the US use 26 mana per charge. So it may be that people who lag tend to discharge more mana per spell. -- Miyuna

The MP is discharged at a rate of X Mana per second. The spell won't stop using MP when you've used 25, it stops when it gets a signal that the spell is done. If you lag, it'll continue to release mana at that rate until the game knows that you're done charging. -- Ragnikarth 06:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

  • That sucks, but makes sense. I live on the east cost and average about an 80 ms ping on good days :( -- Compwiz 21:23, 09 July 2009 (UTC)

It's also worth noting that any MP consumption changes due to wand upgrades affect Fireball as well. So if you have a +10% MP consumption wand (common on +4 chaincast wands), each charge of Fireball will consume 27.5 MP. --Qaccy 19:04, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Regarding Ragnikarth's post, does this mean using an upgraded phoenix wand for reduced cast speed affect how much mana you use per fireball charge? --Bryanneo 14:20, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, here's one of the fun facts about using a shorter cast chaincasting wand is that some players who expend more mana while charging fireball due to lag spend near if not on 125 mana together. Maybe one of the reason is that the server tells that the spell is done charging early on so they don't have to expend extra mana. However this doesn't apply to all people. The only fool-proof way is to get a wand that is -mana consumption. So if you spend 132 mana per charge due to lag, a -mana consumption wand may help you spend close to 125 if not 125 or less. Something good to think about when upgrading one's wand and thinking about ones personal lag. --Miyuna 14:26, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Well interesting find, courtesy of a video I found, which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bpHUB3V7Do.

This video proves my theory on why people consume more mana than general with fireball. --Miyuna 05:32, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Most Amount of Mana Use

We all know Fireball is 125 mana use regardless of r1 to rF, however a fully charge Ice Spear at Rank 1 exceeds the cost of fireball, no?

This is true in the case of giants and humans, for elves however a fully changed fireball exceeds a fully charged ice spear at rank 1. I will fix this information if it hasn't already been done, thank you. --Sanity 04:16, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Expiration Time

I think I have seen these pages and Arrow Revolver's pages that expire in 12 hours instead of 8 hours. Not certain. Need confirmation. --Caellian 12:11, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

The expiration time of a page differs depending on what rank it is, similar to enchant scrolls. Rank A lasts ~8 hours, each rank past that adds about 20-30 minutes to the timer I believe. Qaccy 16:07, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Page 8

I found this page in Alby Intermediate for 1 and i dont remember if it was from a burgandy spider or a wolf that appears in the dungeon. if someone could help me find out and post it on the page it would help out alot. hopefully this discovery doesnt reduce the price that this page sells for at the market.. i hope im the first to discover this. =O --summonduel 2:44 am 20 January 2010.

You're talking about Arrow Revolver Page 8 not Fireball, right? ^^; Cause it is arrow revolver page 8 that is expensive, not fireball page 8... --Miyuna 07:59, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Fireball page 8 drops from the Blue Dire Wolves. In fact, they drop as often as Fireball pages 5 and 6 from Werewolves. Not uncommon. --ZephyreTALK 09:13, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
I think he got mixed up with page 8 of arrow revolver. --Miyuna 09:14, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Enchanting the Pages?

When it says Enchant Rank A, does it mean that you have to have the Enchant skill rA to be able to put it in the book?

No, it just means you have to enchant in order. --Miyuna 15:24, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

General idea for the drop rate

as the title says can anyone give me a general idea of the drop rate(i need the drop rate for fb 10) by this i mean like fb 3 = uncommon --LawLies 13:57, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Personal Experience, page 3-4 are very uncommon. I fought legions of Gremlins before they drop (by legion, I mean close to 100) and spamming a lot of Barri Basics. Some people of course, are lucky to get it in the first dungeon run, but generally the drop rate is low. I'm guessing around 5%? For Fireball Page 10, the drop rate is a bit higher, but still pretty low. My guess is that it's 10%?. In any case, you will have to spam a lot of Fiodh Int for 4. --Miyuna 14:38, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Timeline/ Skill Description Conflict

I'm just pointing out that in the description of the Fireball skill, it mentions "bullet" and "cannonball". Based on the time frame of Mabinogi, I doubt that bullets and cannonballs are existent within the game. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.--Th3Evil5Ponge 21:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Yea, buut this kind of question belongs on a forum. And you should sign anything you write in talk pages.--Sozen Cratos Focker 08:34, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh sorry I thought I hit the sign button there. --Th3Evil5Ponge 21:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Mabinogi is set in a sort of medieval time. There were, in fact, weak guns and cannons in medieval times. In fact, the term "bulletproof" comes from the way blacksmiths used to prove the quality of their armor, by shooting at it with a gun. Final word, guns are plausible. --Sephy 11:57, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Fireball Kills

Has anyone noticed that fireball kills aren't counting for what they actually ARE while training? At 1300 CP, the hobgoblins are pretty much all strong to me. At 800, they're all awful. At 300 CP, they SAY boss, but all count as awful. And finally, at 200 CP, the ones that are 2200CP or more finally count for a boss kill. It's kinda frustrating me. Jessha 06:09, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Be sure that you're not removing any -CP equipment. If you remove equipment, it won't update the CP, but the server will record it as your supposed current CP.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ikkisuki (talkcontribs) . I put it on before I get on the raft, and don't remove anything the entire ride. Jessha 01:47, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I always found that the CP only updates when you change channels. I took off my -CP armor after changing channels, and the zombies still counted as bosses, so it's probably that. (This was for windmill, mind, but it's the same CP issue)Novaix 04:00, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I think it might have something to do with the hobgoblins or CP being messed up. I completely restarted Mabi with all my equipment on. So I had about 250 CP, and everything was awful while rafting. I'm gonna try going to TNN with all my gear on, and see if the zombies will read as bosses, so I know for sure whether it's CP or hobgoblins when I send in a ticket for this. Rath Castle

Page 7 was found in one of the books picked up during Ghost of Partholon basic. Not like this wasn't an easily obtained page anyway. KisaiTenshi 14:03, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

20% Damage reduction in G13.

I'm curious as to how this is determined. Is it, for example, 80% of what it would be now, like 1000-3000 to 800-2400? Or would it be ( (1000~3000) + (Int formula bonus damage) ) /.2? Where only fireball is affected by the .2?--Tricky B Bomb (Talk) 00:16, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

The damage is littarely lowered by 20% rank for rank for all tier 2 magic. If you had r1 fireball it'd say 800~2400 damage. It isn't a hidden effect. Its shown on the skill summary window for the skills. It should be noted that despite this most mages will see a 15~30% increase in damage due to the new masteries and new int formula (mage with r1 fire magic mastery and 500 int would max 3450 damage in G13 despite the damage reduction). They had to do it since a mage with 600 int and magic master could do 4700 damage with r1 fireball. r1 thunder could do 1,100+ with 1 charge alone for about 30 mana. Tellos 00:55, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Standby Time

The explanation of the spell claims there's an ~3 second delay between launching the Fireball and it exploding, while the chart says there's a 5 second down time. Which one's right? --Sephy 20:37, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm not 100% but it feels like 3 seconds.--钟国豪-BIassreiter 20:58, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Hidden Quest

I've noticed on the page itself, written in blue text, there appears to be a quest on the page, like kill 5 gray foxes. What's up with this? I have the elemental master title, and never seen this until now.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Xeltic (talkcontribs) . The quest has been up there since November 2009. It's likely the quest does not have a page of it's own due to users using the Fireball page itself to get all information about the skill (including how to obtain) and having the quest on this page makes it much easier for users to figure out how to obtain the skill rather than having to look for a separate page. However I guess this may not also be the case? --Ɛαmes - ταłκ 15:12, 6 December 2010 (PST)
If you're refering to the odd text on the fireball page items, that has been there for a while. It seems Nexon messed up some of the text dumps when patching the game and that appears on the AR and FB pages now. Tellos 16:21, 6 December 2010 (PST)

Thunder Max Damage comparison

On the page it says that fireball matches thunder for maximum damage however even if we remove the minuscule initial damage isn't thunders potential max slightly higher? it's only about 120 more but it is more. Or have I buggered the math? --Pravin (talk) 00:09, 5 November 2018 (PST)

Renovation Learning

Learn Fireball
How to Get Quest

Talk to Stewart with the Skills Keyword with the Elemental Apprentice title equipped while not wielding a Wand and while not doing another Skill Quest (Arrow Revolver, Final Hit, Final Shot, Thunder, Ice Spear, Fusion Bolt, Hail Storm, Shock, Campfire Rank C - > B, Composing Rank 8 -> 7, and Musical Knowledge Rank 9 -> 8, 7 -> 6, and 4 -> 1).

Briefing In order to learn the Fireball, you'll need to complete the 'Book of Fireball'. Collect pages 1~10 of the 'Book of Fireball' and enchant each page in order. -Stewart-
Objectives
  • Collect all 10 pages of the Book of Fireball and give them [sic].
Rewards
  • Obtained Fireball
Additional Information
  • Stewart will provide a 1x2 book, Book on Fireball, to place pages into the book. Be sure to have enough inventory space.
    • Collect pages 1-10 and enchant them into the book. The enchant success rate is 100%.
      • Pages are dropped by monsters at a relatively low rate.
      • Right-clicking a page and using allows adding higher-ranked pages into the book without needing an enchanter.
      • The pages must be enchanted in order. If a previous page is mistakenly enchanted, progress will revert back to that page.
        • For example, a player's book has up to page 5 enchanted, but they mistakenly re-add page 1; the player would then be required to re-add pages 2 and above.
      • The pages have a time limit of eight hours, and must be enchanted into the book before it expires. Despite being an enchantment item, Fireball pages do not have an expiry timer.
    • The book cannot be traded or stored on pets but can be put in bank.
    • If the player drops the book, a new page-less one can be acquired by giving up the quest and then re-accepting it.
    • The completed book is not a "book" in the sense that it cannot be opened and read.
  • Forfeiting the quest will not remove the book from the player's inventory.

Everything slashed no longer applies, and one tidbit of enchant item not expiring despite being such.

Infodude575 (talk)14:04, 24 May 2015

If Strange Books all have them, then I can spam Ghost of Partholon Basic like hell for it?

Infodude57517:28, 20 June 2012

I suppose so. But I hear you can't get pages 4 or 10 from them.

Willi096 (talk)00:44, 14 July 2013

I got it a year ago and I did manage to find 4 and 10 from them.

Infodude575 (talk)00:45, 14 July 2013

You can get most of the pages from them with a good amount of luck. I have done this for a friend, and we ended up getting 6 of the 10 pages from the books. We ended up farming appropriate mobs for the rest since we ended up getting paper for several runs after the 6 pages.

まそっぷ ! (talk)00:49, 14 July 2013

Ah, thought it said June 2013, not 2012. But shouldn't they be added to the page list?

Willi096 (talk)01:04, 14 July 2013

All the pages may be found in Strange Books from the Shadow Mission Ghost of Partholon or Buchanan's Secret.

im curious if u enchant the fireball book that has a higher page (lets say 6) with a lower page (say 5), will it revert to the lower page? (which would be 5 in the scenario)
