As revealed in Episode 6, the Black Dragon Knight, an elder-looking Ruairi, requested the shaman who could make charms, which have hidden divine potential that rivals the Gods. However, the shamans refused, as he already received a charm from them and they were aware of his evil intentions. Ruairi then mercilessly slaughtered the shamans until he captured Gael.
Meanwhile, Gael tells an unidentified man (heavily implied to be Millia's father) that they can no longer see each other anymore. The man believes they can work things out, but Gael states she would only be a burden to him and tells him to leave with their child. The man declines and wants to stay with the shaman, telling her not to give up, but she gives him her necklace and informs him that her brother will instantly recognize it. The man leaves as the woman turns away, but an explosion occurs around Gael's area and the man looks back depressingly, and runs off.
In present day, Akule mentions that Gael was killed by the Cessair.
As revealed in Episode 9, an adult Ruairi requested the maker of the divine charms. Upon meeting Gael, he requests her to see Tarlach, who suffered a critical condition from being severed of magic by a God. However, she senses his emotions bottled up from his history and points out he lost a friend who was very dear to him, but Ruairi tells her to stop. Suddenly, the other shamans also sense his inner darkness and try to get him to come along quietly, prompting Ruairi to pose a battle stance.
