Ethur Mac Cuill II (the Second) was the King of the Aliech Kingdom and the reigning authority of the Uladh Continent (excluding Tir Chonaill, which is not part of the Aliech Kingdom). He's mentioned several times, but is only seen once.

Role in Macbeth

Ethur Mac Cuill in Macbeth is portrayed as King Duncan, the ruler of Scotland who was murdered by Macbeth to seize his throne.

Assassination

As Ethur Mac Cuill overlooked the Hanging Garden in Tara Rath Castle, he was assassinated by Shakespeare, who saw him as the Goddess Morrighan due to Bella's influence over him. He has a daughter named Eirawen, who was intended to inherit the throne until Lugh's sudden return, a plot devised by Morrighan and Bella, who then usurps the throne and gains all the powers of the kingdom.
