Homesteads per account

Homesteads per account

How many homesteads can a single account hold? Is it one per character, or is there just one homestead shared among all characters?

One per character.

Ok, follow-up question: can a character in an account visit another character's homestead in the same account?

Dias16:07, 25 April 2011

Yes, provided you set the appropriate permission for that farm. (i.e. allowing others to access it)

If your characters are on the same account, it is impossible to have them see each other in-game,so you cannot click on them to access their homestead. You can't add same-account character to your friend list either. However,if both of your characters are in the same guild, you can access their homestead from the guild list.

Yeah, good point. That's how it goes with my assistant elf and giant. They are in the same guild as my main, so I can go to their farms.

Is there any benefit to having your main character to visit an alt's homestead?

Only thing I can think of would be to use production equipment, like a spinning wheel, furnace, paint mixer... The herb patches don't allow gathering unless the owner is present, but I've been able to use production equipment even while the owner is offline, as long as permission is set.

But it's your own character... I don't see much point in that. Ohwell. :c

It would mean more space on your main account for non-production tools... But I think I'm wrong about being able to use it while the owner is offline, it lets you open the production form, but doesn't let you actually start... Unless my friend forgot to set permissions, which I guess is possible. xD

If you train your alts to have enough ranks in Herbalism, just fill your alt's farms with herb patches and then pick them with your alts.

This will increase the net amount of herbs that you can get from your account. You can then focus your main's farms on other things.

Yeah, there isn't much of a point of visiting your alt's farm since you can't steal their homestead stones or pick their herbs. :P
