Upcoming Content at G9

Hey, I have wanted to be able to look at Upcoming Content easily for some time now and I have a really hard time finding it. I actually go to the Alchemy Page and then scroll to the bottom and click the link "Upcoming Content at G9" and then type in the generation I actually want to look at in the address bar. I suggest that a page for upcoming content be made and linked to the wiki main page (maybe under general info?) that will take you to a short list of generations to choose from. I would do it myself, but I am pretty sure that what I am talking about editing is protected. If this is a bad idea, then I apologize. Thanks for your time! :) --Soulcatcher

Me and Zakkyurrdai of mari tested out the leather long bow's, ringbows, and thunders range, after noticing someone editing them, we have confirmed the LLB's and thunders range is 2000 and the ringbow is 1800. whoever changed the bow info before, i hope they don't do it it again. Bolding of headers

Is it necessary to bold the headers? --Kakurady 10:38, 3 February 2008 (PST)

I don't think so. We better set this straight and be consistent, though. Serenade 16:59, 4 February 2008 (PST)

IRC Channel

I know theres a link on the main page, but it doesn't seem to be working for me... Can someone tell me the channel a format like "#[email protected]" or something?Mice 01:49, 27 March 2008 (PDT)

Secret Shopping Articles

There are alot of secret shops now, and more will appear as their found out.

We need an article dealing with all of these.

I started a page for the secret shops here. --- Angevon 08:27, 16 June 2008 (PDT)
Good work Angevon :P though I wouldn't list things that aren't implemented to NA Mabi, yet, to the shop list. Like the Comp D->C book which has been moved from Nele normal shop to secret shop, NA Nexon may change stuff around to render our "projected" information inaccurate. --Kgptzac 08:50, 16 June 2008 (PDT)
I wasn't sure if the Comp D->C was implemented or not. I heard it was, then it was removed, or something odd like that. Anyway yeah the page should only have shops and items that exist now. Oh, also, I need other people to add shop info. I don't have a source for that info, so I only filled in what I could.--- Angevon 19:36, 17 June 2008 (PDT)
Should there not be at least a mention of secret and regular shops and what they contain on each individual NPC page?--Kaminarii

Role-Playing Quests

I think I'll take this challenge, the Role-Playing Quest page. Since I didn't find one yet in here, I think it's kind of important to have a full list of quests.

Also, there are some quests that are not beginner quests nor role-playing quests, for example, if you talk to Endelyon about 'Skills' (I'm not sure, I did it like 2 months ago.), she will give you a quest to get 5 Eggs. We should collect them all into one page, maybe "Skill Quests". ---Serenixy

Hooray, it's almost done, we just need to confirm they're all correct. ---Serenixy

Skills Organization

I think it would be a good idea to rearrange access to skill pages. They're kind of spread apart and difficult to navigate.

Right now, to look at a skill (example, windmill), you have to scroll down, click "combat," click "melee combat skills," then finally click "windmill." Also, just to look at another fighting skill, such as Magnum Shot, you would have to go back to the combat page, select "ranged combat skills," and finally click on the Magnum Shot page. I think we should have all combat related skills available on the same page (melee, ranged, and the two orphaned skills Critical Hit and Sharp Mind).

Also, there's the random "Free Skill Acquire" page, which redirects viewers to skills under other pages. I suggest this category/page be removed completely, since it adds no useful information.

My suggestion for how to organize all these skills is to make them all click-able from the main page, so users don't need to jump multiple pages to look at what they're interested in everytime. We should organize it the same way "Items" under Wiki Navigation is formatted: clear, lists all its pages under relevant columns, and isn't cluttered in any way.

What do the rest of you guys think? Nightbreeze 10:39, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

I agree that it's difficult to navigate (in fact I just use the search function instead, now). Is this perhaps better? I made it today: Skill List. I'm personally not confident in editing the main page, so I'll leave that decision to someone else. --- Angevon 17:39, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I like your version better. Putting all skills together on the same page makes navigation much easier. However, there's still organizational/cosmetic issues to deal with, even in the new page you made today. For one, I think we should have less categories. Combat doesn't need to be split between melee, ranged, and extra skills that don't fit under just one of the two categories (referring to the Melee, Ranged, and Other categories). I think it'd be even easier to browse if we just put them all together under "Combat."

Also, categories like "Human Only," "0 AP to rank to learn rank F," etc could be just removed, since they don't really group together skills in a useful way. That way the skills menu links to each skill once, and once only, with less confusion/clutter.

Thanks for replying to my idea! --- Nightbreeze 17:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Erm...to the page you made, I added my version of what I was hoping skills list would look like on the main page. Would be nice to have it either like this on the main page, or have people click on a "Skills" link and have them redirected to a single page with all skills listed. Reduce clutter! --- Nightbreeze 18:05, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, you know what we've forgot? the Magical shields and the Mana Shields, hehe. Estimating when will every skill come is a bad idea since Nexon NA doesn't follow the other versions a lot, they always change it a little (Seriously, Pet AI at Generation 3 Season 1?), it should be taken off. I like the idea, organizing the category is a great idea and it would be really useful. and I'll try supporting it too, instead of having just the skill categories in the main page, we should have all the skills in one section. Maybe we could add the skill's icon near every skill, hmm, separating it by races is a little confusing, I'll try to do something with it. --Serenixy 00:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

The seasons can be removed, but the Generations shouldn't, for the most part. You can't get a skill before the NPC or quest location that teaches it exists. They -could- make a new NPC, or use a current one, to make the skill come out earlier, but, in my opinion, it's highly doubtful that they'd do that. Also, I didn't mean to separate the skills by races, just wanted to note that some skills are race-specific. I like the main page section, but I also want to keep the Skill List as a page. --- Angevon 01:50, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks to the person who edited the front page for easy access to skills! One thing is that...there are skills that aren't accessible from the main page this way now, the monster skills and transformation skills. Anyone have suggestions to how to best display those? One thing is that there's lots of transformation skills: pally, dark knight, elf, and giant transformation skills. Maybe we can put them on their own page. Also, monster skills may be skills, but they don't "fit" with the other skills. You can never have/rank them, so maybe they should go in the monster section, explaining different levels of monster resists. --- Nightbreeze 06:38, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Reorganizing Main Page

Is it really appropriate to state that the HER0 guild is participating in the Sen mag guild war?

I was wondering if anyone else felt like the main page is looking kind of squished. Trying to maintain a balance of information, clarity, and clean navigation is hard but it would help people using the wiki as frequent reference if we tried our best to reformat things a bit.

For example, the left column (wiki news, featured article, server updates) seem like they could use some rework. Wiki news isn't updated much, and doesn't give much information to users. We could shorten the number of bullet points displayed at any time to make it take up less room, or not even have that section where it is right now. The featured article could be citing too much of the article it links to, since it's less a blurb and more like multiple paragraphs. Could be shortened as well. Server updates...well, it's got too much information there which people probably don't care to see. We could keep that section to tell readers what the current patch version is, but to have such a long list of updates going back to beta testing is too much detail for the front page. --- Nightbreeze 06:55, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps we could put the feature article with the first 1-2 paragraphs of the article and the picture on the top left of the page and then put the first 1-2 news articles on the top right with the latest 1-2 server updates underneath it. if its balanced correctly they would look like a single section and allow all the other sections to be lined up side-by-side thereby shortening the length of the page dramatically, and hopefully improving readability.
one possible layout
Feature, Wiki News
Feature, Server Updates
Production, Items
Skills, Items
Enchants, Pets
World of Erinin, Quests
World of Erinin, Monsters
for my size screen this should get everything to line up except World of Erinin which would extend past Monsters by about 4 bullet points. this may be different on larger screens.--Jacobpaige 15:49, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Natural Shield Level 1

-I've realized that some monsters have a "Natural Shield Level 1, where ranged attacks other than Magnum Shot won't knock them down. Speaking from my experiences, I believe this false. There have been instances when I shot an arrow at an enemy without Natural Shield level 2, and I would hear a PING noise, followed by a message "That didn't feel right".
-Also, there are monsters that claim to have Natural Shield Level 1, however, were knocked down after a few arrows, followed by a critical hit. I believe that the real Natural Shield level 1 are monsters that generate the message "That didn't feel right". Monsters that have brought up the message for me are : Black Warrior and Black Soldier. If anyone wants to comment or fill me in on something that I'm not getting, please do so. --DeityOfSouls 12:12, 5 September 2008

Actually, its Heavy Stander Level 1, 2, and 3 that makes the Ping Noise followed by the message. Natural Shield Level 1 only prevents Knock Back from Arrows while Level 2 and 3 makes the Ping Noise with no message. ~ Shadowboy132

Reorganizing Main Page, Part 2

I've set up my user page as a test page. There I have a prototype of how the wiki main page could be changed, to make things easier for users. Can people take a look at my suggestions and tell me if they'd consider modifying the real main page with them? Thanks, ---Nightbreeze

I notice there's been a couple of people who have been posting news regarding Mabinogi on the wiki in the "Wiki News" section. I understand the enthusiasm and all, but Wiki News is only for news regarding changes to the wiki, like if massive content was added (like new wiki pages et. al). However, we could look into putting up a section on the front page for Mabinogi news if people are interested. Any thoughts? --Velocity7 17:39, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I agree, sorta. I agree that we shouldn't put EVERYTHING regarding Mabinogi, but I think some things can be added, such as the new year thing, and the Iria thing! - User: MasterRyan February 4, 2009, 3:17 PM EST

What do you mean exactly? --Velocity7 04:02, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Ummmmmmm, I hope someone sees this. The post about the ErinnWalker update is wrong. Its not 2:30 AM, its 2:30 PM. I went to edit it, looked for the edit button for about 5 minutes, swore, then looked here. Fixy pl0xers. --User: Devilfish February 4, 2009, 7:43 PM PST

Fixed. Thanks. ---Angevon
2:30AM was not wrong, Nexon extended it by 12 hours--Hengsheng120 22:00, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

I fixed it, and when the ErinnWlker is added I will edit the Main Page instead of add anything - User:MasterRyan

This is just an additional comment right now, but I noticed that several of the weapons in the "Upcoming Content at C2" list Attack instead of Damage, like our old info did. Since this is inconsistent, it makes it a bit confusing. (User: Pokota)

HUGE question!!!

according to the official website, in C2 they will release transformations for giants and elves, supposing G7 as well! Is this true? User:MasterRyan There is no word of G7 in the current Pioneers of Iria video, the transformations for Giants and Elves were in G6S4, my source for this is the update video for G6S4 at www.mabinogi.com - User: Pokota

Though they are probably releasing a ton of content from G4/5/6, it doesn't mean they are skipping straight to G7. There is no official announcement on what is yet to happen, so all you can do is wait. As for the transformations and races, I strongly believe they are releasing them with the next update. ~Rusty~

Template?

am I aloud to make a Template? and if so, how do I make 1? and if I can't could someone make it for me, I want it to be {{FutureContentAtC2}} instead of the Template:FutureContent because it is being released as C2 in NA I believe, because the grouped Generations 4-6 or 7 together. thx - User: MasterRyan

  • ANYONE! - MasterRyan!
It doesn't really matter since we'll be deleting the template off every page in a week or so. ---Angevon

By the way, I'd prefer that if we know the specific generation, that we use the specific generation template. Like, ballooning isn't until G8, so using the C2 template would make people think it's coming out this week. Just a thought. ---Angevon

28?

where did they announce the 28th? link plz - MasterRyan

They didnt, however nexon has been giving off hints. -- hawk400206

  • such as? - MasterRyan
It says 26th now, and I too am curious about the source of the date. If there is no source, it's just a rumor, and I personally don't think it should exist on the main page, since it's only a rumor. As far as we know, Erinn Walker updates on the 24th. They'll most likely have a release date with that Erinn Walker, or another date for the next Erinn Walker update (if they have one). However, looking at the dates of their maintenance schedules, a lot of them happen on Thursdays, while occasionally happening on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and just random days. Any of those three listed days past the 24th is a safe bet. So heck, 24th, 25th or even the 26th is a fair estimation, or a week later. ~Rusty~

I asked for sources in a Nexon Forums thread, and I got some links. However, it appears to only be popular MMO news sites type stuff, where the all posted information of Iria continent, all agreeing on the 26th being the date, so Nexon must have told a source of their sources, or told them directly. Who knows, maybe one site assumed the 26th and the rest copied it.

AP Charts for Interracial Skills?

We need them. Or at least out-in-the-open links for them.

I'm working on an Elf, using Icebolt, and his AP costs are slightly different, while I'm sure other magics are too, and I'm sure Giants AP costs for melee skills are relatively different too.

I'm not sure if we already have AP charts for Interracial skills, but I didn't see any.

I'm thinking we should add a Human Summary, Elf Summary, and Giant Summary on every skill page.

If a certain race has no availability to the skill, don't add that races summary.

What do you think? ._. ~Rusty~

I was going to do what you suggested but someone added an Elf Ranged Attack page. If we're going to make a page for every skill for each race, then is there a point of putting the summary on every page? I tried to get a discussion going on the forum, but it died pretty quickly and nothing was decided. D: -★Fifty★ 13:11, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh right, theres an Elf Ranged Attack page...so does that mean we have to make an Elf Icebolt, Giant Windmill, and all that sort of stuff pages? ;/ If we make a skill page for each races skill, theres no point at all in putting each races summary. But we could just easily contain all the information on one page, and as I stated earlier, show the AP costs and stat differentiations for different races for the same skill on that one skills page. I really believe having all the information on one skill page is better, but that's only my opinion. In reality, there is no such thing as 'Elf Ranged Attack', just Ranged Attack. As I see in the thread, there is no solid decision as you have mentioned, so we should probably make one here. I'm for containing all the information in one page. ~Rusty~

Someone started throwing in the Elves information of Windmill on the same summary chart, so I split it all up. Currently (who knows for how long) it is how I believe EVERY skill page should be for the interracial skills. It doesn't look bad, and I believe it's actually a very smart way to do this. ~Rusty~

New Category

Is it possible for someone with the propper permission to add a new category to the left frame's category list for the Category:Exploration page, since exploration is a large part of the game now and a lot of people are coming here looking for information on it. -Hotarugirl

Need New Skill Templates

Currently, this is how Windmill Rank E looks.

Rank E

  • AP: 4 (Elf = 1)
  • Stat Improvement: Strength +1, Will +3
  • Effects: Inflict 110% damage to all nearby monsters. (10% HP reduction)
Method Exp. Count Total

(Cut off to save space)

The AP thing just doesn't work like that. I believe we need new skill templates, or this needs to be fixed. Or we need a more appropriate way to do this. If we were to do new skill templates, we would need many. Templates to accommodate: Human Only, Elf Only, Giant Only, Human&Elf, Human&Giant, Elf&Giant, and one for Human&Elf&Giant. That's how many new templates we would need, since there are skills for all, skills for each race only, and skills for two races only (are there?).

What should we do? ~Rusty~ Edit: And it's not just the AP that needs rework on these templates. The effects and stats are also different, so each new template (if we get them) needs to include AP, Stat, and Effect solely for whatever race or group of races it is for. Kind of like this:

  • AP (Human): XX
  • AP (Elf): XX
  • AP (Giant): XX

And more for Stat and Effect, but that takes up so much space... I'm really not sure how this should be done, but we definitely need to do something. ~Rusty~

We could just make seperate sections within the Windmill page for each race. So humans have their own section and elves in the other section within windmill page. --Dysprosium
I'm not entirely sure what you mean. I also have to add, all the information about new templates and this stuff is if we contain all races information on one skill page. Aside from that, so far, what I thought of for the template, to try and save space would be something like this...
Human Elf Giant
AP ## ## ##
Stat +# Stat, +# Stat +# Stat, +# Stat +# Stat, +# Stat
Effect If it applies to all races, colspan it.
Effect If not, do it like this.
Method Exp. Count Total

(of course, only one Effect, but different templates to accommodate) I'm thinking we should add that to the top of skill ranks (skill templates) on skill pages. Using this way, we can incorporate all the information of each race on one skill page, instead of making skill pages for non-existent skills like Elf Ranged Attack. Of course, this is only a general idea for what I think we should do, so we don't have 200 some skill pages for 50 some skills. I think it looks pretty good, though it could probably do without the lines, and maybe a color change, but I don't know too much HTML; but hopefully someone can take this into consideration and work on the skill templates. ~Rusty~

What about the training part? I believe the training methods are the same for each race, but the numbers are different. ex windmill rank 1 for humans need 2000 bosses, elf need 2400, and giants only need 1000. -★Fifty★ 19:32, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I hadn't even thought of that. ._. Right now, I can't come up with anything. I'll try to draw up some charts and figure out a possible way, but I don't think I'll be capable of coming up with anything. Maybe you, or someone else will be. ~Rusty~

Human Elf Giant
AP ## ## ##
Stat +# Stat, +# Stat +# Stat, +# Stat +# Stat, +# Stat
Effect If it applies to all races, colspan it.
Effect If not, do it like this.
Method Exp. Count Total
Human
Land a critical hit. 4.00 20 80.00
Learn from enemy's critical hit. 5.00 5 25.00
Finish off with critical hit. 5.00 10 50.00
Elf
Land a critical hit. 4.00 20 80.00
Learn from enemy's critical hit. 5.00 5 25.00
Finish off with critical hit. 5.00 10 50.00
Giant
Land a critical hit. 4.00 20 80.00
Learn from enemy's critical hit. 5.00 5 25.00
Finish off with critical hit. 5.00 10 50.00

Of course, it takes up SO much space, on the page, and in the editing boxes. That's what I wanted to avoid, but if no one can think of a more compact way, this is, so far, the best way to contain all information on one skill page. ~Rusty~

-Perhaps someone could section the three races into collapsible menus? Like the spoiler menus I see on some of the character Bios? That way one page has the info for all three races, and people can simply expand the race info they need. I'm fairly new to the wiki, so I don't know how much work this may take. -Koiyumi

Uh ok.. I tried to make a template, but it's pretty tough to customize it for 1, 2, or 3 races. It's been a while since C2 came out so the skills need to go in asap. It might be easier to not use templates... That way, you can customize it as much as you like. I like the design of Rusty's code, so I'll start implementing them soon. -★Fifty★ 06:57, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Armor Sets

Do you think it'd be possible for us to work togethor and post different armor sets for differnt occasions, Myself and alot of others i'm sure have trouble deciding on what weapons and enchants to get with the vast ammount of enchants there are. If we set out a category where users can post their armor set or suggested armor sets for differnt play types it would make things alot easier for new players who have no idea what armor and enchants to get. - Cassiusx 8:00 AM april 14 2009

Adding Mabinogi NA updates to Wiki News

I personally believe that updates to the actual game server should be posted here. I check this page FAR more than I check the Mabinogi homepage, so this would allow me to actually know when there was an update, without finding out late when thinking "Why can't I log in?"

I know it's only supposed to be wiki-related news, but a game update COULD lead to more wiki-related news. So in a sense it is wiki-related news.

And that just shows how little I think most people scroll all the way down on the Wiki Homepage. I've only just found the "Mabinogi Server Updates" section on the wiki. --~Zallist 15:16, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Abbreviations

I propose a page for abbreviations used in game by players. How many times have we gone in game to see people using abbreviations that we have no idea what they're talking about and only to be called "nub" for it? It could consist of things like "wm" for Windmill etc. Just my $0.2 --Demaetri 20:51, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

gaming mouse

Why will gamer mouses now not work with mabinogi, also, how do they not work? --Zaros 22:31, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

They patched CTRL=Side button for gaming mouses. Or something like that -does not have one- --Kevin Talk«) 22:35, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Mabinogi wiki News

I think it will look better if we bold the dates so they stand out. Like this?

July 23rd 2009

  • Nexon has released the Pelican and Eagle.
  • Hackshield has been updated and translated in the client. It is now much more sensitive than before.
    • It will only accept hardware-based inputs in the game.
      • Ex. If you have a gaming mouse with extra buttons that function as ctrl or something similar, this will no longer work with Mabinogi.

July 21st 2009

  • Nexon has announced that Mabinogi will be going through a scheduled update on Thursday, July 23rd, 2009. View the official announcement here.

Monster Info Templates

I've noticed that some monsters like Young Brown Fox have a better/different layout for them information than other monsters like the Light Gargoyle. After I tried to edit the Light Gargoyle to look like that You Brown Fox's layout, I noticed everything is layed out the same in the edit section. I was just wondering what I had to do to update how they look, if it's even possible. Thanks! --Hunter9009/Leif~Chaz 01:08, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

The "blue template," as some call it, is fairly new (okay, several months old?). We haven't implemented every monster into it, yet; I don't even think we've done half of the monsters. As stated on my user page, I'm (slowly) changing the old template to the new template. It's fairly easy, but it requires you to make a new page for each monster. I explained how to make a template and set it up here. If you need help, just ask on my talk page. --Aramet 01:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. :D I'll try and get some done. --Hunter9009/Leif~Chaz 04:10, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Templates linking to their content

Is there some way to make the template pages automatically link back to their subject? Right now the only way I've seen is to manually edit the Page= field into a link, but can that be coded somehow into the templates to do it by itself? Doing it manually is fine but I think everyone forgets to do that 95% of the time, and it makes it easier to see changes to the actual template when you can just click straight to the page when you're done.--Qaccy 20:34, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Give me an example of a template and their 'subject' cause I have no idea what you're talking about. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 20:41, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I see what you mean now. A template of an item redirect to that item/monster/equipment. Hmm.. I don't even see why we have the 'Page' field. It has no use. =\ --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 20:45, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, you're right...I think? The Name field can be used to link back to the template's page too from the looks of it, but that still means the person putting it up has to remember to go back and make the name a link for it to work. I guess it might just be a lazy thing, but before I figured that out it was annoying getting back to the original page after editing a template. :(--Qaccy 20:53, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

HUGE bug since 28th August (today)

I've just found that the free premium services are failing to work as of today. They were working fine yesterday, but any account that used to have free premium stuff, has lost them as of earlier today. I have no idea why this happened. Anyways, this seems like a humongous bug, so a warning on the Frontpage would probably be a good idea, no? Could a senior member please clarify as to the correct course of action? ~Zallist 00:31, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

My friend said that so many people attempted to buy the Combat 2x EXP Potions from the item shop to overlap with this x2 EXP event, that that server crashed and therefore services are down. Also, there seems to be major server lag (on Ruairi, at least). --Aramet (Talk) 00:36, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh thank god. I thought I lost a load of things off my mules. Well'p, crisis averted. And there's server lag in huge doses everywhere. It's because there is about a million people online at the moment. ~Zallist 00:40, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Is it just me?

Okay, so yeah i got the log in error, Thats not just me-- But the forums arent working for me either. Some parts of it at least- I don't know if it's just me. Nexon isn't doing a very good job... >w>; I cant even complain about it in forums anymore.

Because sure, complaining in the forums will do a lot. Forums are very on/off for most users, log in error was caused by the log in server crashing. As a side note, don't panic when the Cash Shop Server crashes. It's happened before, your Cash Shop Data has not been lost.--Mystickskye 03:21, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

did they announce the wrong day?

in the headline for the update it says [Edit] Update Schedule (09/02/09) but the rest says the first... which is it going to be?

It starts on the first and finishes on the second. You could have found this out by checking the announcement.--Mystickskye 07:56, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Enchant templates

I dunno if this is a problem with the template or what, but I've noticed that whenever I try editing enchant info (not the enchant template itself, but individual enchant pages), most of the time I end up getting a 500 server error after a minute or so waiting for the page to load. Just today (the reason I'm making this comment) I tried editing an enchant and it seemed like the whole wiki went down for about 5-10 minutes. Maybe this could be looked into to see what's up? Qaccy 01:13, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm assuming that this is the same problem with editing Template:StyleMonster/doc. If it's on multiple pages, each modification has to apply itself to every page the template is on. I could be wrong, though. --Aramet (Talk) 01:21, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Template:highrisk not in use yet??--Hengsheng120(talkcontribs) 01:48, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd understand changing the template itself could cause high server load like the monster one does...but this is just editing details about individual enchants (such as editing an enchant's effects or where it's obtained). It shouldn't cause that much lag since it's only affecting that one enchant's template...should it? Qaccy 02:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Hengsheng, we'd have to put that on every template. When editing a single template already causes load spikes, imagine the downtime just to put that template into use. Unless I'm missing something here... ---Angevon 01:21, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
It should not cause load spikes as the warning template should be in between <noinlcude></noinclude> tags which excludes transclusion on the template. The single templates are used on many enchant lists aren't they?--Hengsheng120(talkcontribs) 01:33, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Layout in Chrome

So I'm using Google Chrome and ever since I checked the wiki today, the leftmost column (the one with the navigation option and the searchbox) is scrolled all the way to the bottom.

This was not like this ytd. Can anyone fix it? --Phunkie 22:05, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

I think it's just you. Works perfectly fine for me. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 23:07, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Do you have Chrome 4 on Windows? I remembered updating it to 4 ytd, so that's what might be causing this. But I've cleared my cookies, history and everything, and still nothing. --Phunkie 03:44, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
No, I do not. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 04:03, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Soooo, any idea how to fix this? Anyone...? It would be so very appreciated. --Phunkie 18:09, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Stop using the beta builds. The current version (3.0.195.33) works fine. The dev and beta builds of Chrome 4 messes up the rendering.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 03:57, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

mabinogi mainsite having issues in firefox

for what ever reason the mabinogi website seems to be useless to me in Firefox but IE loads it perfectly in Firefox it says connection terminated while loading page this is a serious issue you'd think a company that exists to serve net users would want to maximize compatability i think it should be listed as a bug as it effects shop purchases --From Ariel 11:22, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

I had this issue for a couple weeks, but then it resolved itself on its own recently. You might try updating Firefox. I doubt Nexon cares about fixing whatever the problem is, their entire site was completely incompatible with any browser other than IE for a long time. --Inemnitable 22:26, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

A small nuisance that probably doesn't matter

I noticed on the skill list of the main page, every skill that is race-specific mentions which race it's specific for.

I.E. Stomp (Giant)

Only Arrow Revolver doesn't have a race-specific tag like that. It's a Human-only skill (unless someone wants to say otherwise). So I'm wondering why it doesn't say:

Arrow Revolver (Human)

And yet Final Hit has its race-specific tag for Humans? If there's no reason, I think it would be best to change to that, because some Elves in my guild ask if Arrow Revolver is available to them (which isn't).

Where do you see "Final Hit (Human)"? --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 05:27, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
As mentioned, it's in the big list of skills on the main page. The only explanation I can think of for it is that it's the only race-specific skill that predates Elves/Giants. (Excepting Ranged Attack, but that's not entirely race-specific, even if both races has a separate page for it) --Duet 05:42, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
The skill list might be based on the datafiles which have separately defined skills (even if the skill has the same name in the game) for different races. Arrow Revolver, for example, is a skill that Mari (in the RP) can use, but it doesn't stack 5 arrows.KisaiTenshi 20:24, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Stomp needs a (giant) because there is also a Stomp for monsters. Also, ranged attack for human and elf are totally different, which is why they need a tag. Final shot, throwing attack, wind guard, and other skills that don't have a different copy shouldn't need a tag. For Final hit, the monsters have their own version of it -the boss at the end of Maiz FH-. As for your friend who wants to know if elves can learn AR, tell him to read the page. The changes should be reverted.--Leyuu 14:15, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

G9 Teasers

I want to ask someone to add that Nexon has released a teaser for g9:

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3346919&id=120517645746

I wish that someone would add it into the main website under January 20 or 21st date. --Miyuna 18:32, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

There's actually been an update everyday on the facebook page since the 20th regarding G9, some of it's duplicate with the main mabinogi site. KisaiTenshi 20:24, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Mabinogi Europe

Just wanted to know if this wiki is also going to support the European version like, adding server news to the main page and stuff.

Since I saw that you announce his OB I thought that you could continue adding news like the server maintenance tomorrow. --Sekuiya 12:03, 2 February 2010 (GMT)

No. Sorry. --- Angevon (Talk) 15:29, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
In my opinion, the wiki tends to incorporate a lot of content from the KR/JP Wiki and marks it off as "Upcoming future content." It might be viable (Though possibly too much effort) to mark pages more specifically as "Introduced in G3" and "Was revised in G8" etc. This would at least avoid an inevitable willingness to help from EU players wanting to correct "The mabinogi wiki." The wiki itself doesn't state anywhere other than the main landing page and a few cases where it differs from KR/JP, that it's specifically for the North American version. Perhaps changing the logo area to indicate "Mabinogi North America" or something to make it obvious on every page that it's North America. As for the minor differences between the NA and EU versions so far, it's probably worthwhile noting differences if certain content was released in the EU differently from NA (eg events) so the pages are not reverted by EU players. Otherwise maybe fork the wiki and let someone in the EU run a copy of it as it is now and let them make such changes. KisaiTenshi 20:24, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually, it does say that this is for the North American/Oceania server.
Also, a lot of the future content stuff comes directly from itemdb.xml, not the other wiki versions. --Jαy 22:31, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
How many people actually check or even know of the policy? I meant like the http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/skins/common/images/wiki.png image and the base title of the wiki "Mabinogi World Wiki". I don't want to underestimate the intelligence of the EU players, but because of certain content nerfs in G1 an G3, it might lead to some confusion or people trying to be helpful and correcting it or making needless extra pages with duplicate content. Case example the "shiney spot" on the snowman exists in the EU G1 CB, but I'm not sure if their G1 CB/OB is nerfed to where ours is, or what it was before. I think it would just be simpler to clearly indicate that the wiki is for "Mabinogi North America" in the wiki logo area. KisaiTenshi 08:28, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
The logo says "for the North American Server" on it. --- Angevon (Talk) 20:38, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
On the http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/images/1/16/WikiLogo4.jpg it does, but that image is only seen on the main page of the wiki. Every other page in the wiki sees http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/skins/common/images/wiki.png which is the "Now Open!" logo on the left. I'm just saying that if someone is given a link to any page in the wiki, eg http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=G1 , there is no reference to North America at all. KisaiTenshi 06:56, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Actually we are supporting mabinogi europe players whether we want to or not, Nexon Europe is copying our wiki to the one on their site under "Mabinogi Wiki" with some minor corrections and leaving out some stuff. Most of it are word for word.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 01:32, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Alchemy

I've made a mockup of what I think the Wiki Mainpage navigation should look like once Alchemy is added. You can see it Here. Would this be alright for inclusion (after double checking the released skills) in the navigation?

Also, would Ice Mines be an Action or an Alchemy Skill (and thus included in the navigation)? --Tylian 12:37, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Maybe put alchemy skills above transformation skills. Ice mines are considered an action. Oh, also add Taillteann, Sliab Cuilin, and uhhh Abb Neagh to Uladh Continent, and [[:Category:Shadow Misions]] and Generation 9 to quests. Thanks for remembering the main page, I totally forgot about it. --- Angevon (Talk) 18:44, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
Don't forget to add cylinders to the list of weapons!!!! --Haven923 19:09, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Question:

This is a question regarding images of equipment within respective articles.
I'm just curious, should items like the new Classic Celtic Ensemble, Nakuru's Dragon Robes, etcetera (those without race limitations) have images of Humans/Elves (interchangeable; NOT both) AND Giants?
It may sound redundant, as it's not as if the clothing or anything changes whether or not it is on a Giant or Human/Elf, but I still believe it would be nice to view images of, say, Classic Celtic Ensemble for Giants on this wiki also. Right now, the images are of Humans/Elves (as most images are on the wiki), and I believe it would be good for viewing to have images of Giants (or Humans/Elves, if not already placed) on articles like this. Giants have a large enough change in stature from Humans/Elves to warrant images, is my belief, so I'm just curious if anyone agrees to this, and if uploading images of Giants to articles that already have images of Humans/Elves (applicable for Giants too) is a good or bad idea?
I wasn't sure where to ask this, so if this isn't in a reasonable enough discussion page, I apologize. --Rusty 22:26, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Actualy.... I wouldent mind having that at all... having gone and get a few images for some of the items that giants can wear and seeing the major difference (especially with male giants) i think it would be a good idea. there really is quite a significant change. and to be honest there isent all that much that giants can wear as it is (one of the major drawbacks in my opinon to having giants) so i would vote to have both human/elf pictures as well as the seprate giant ones for those items that apply for clothes. anything else wouldnt be enough to have this happening to it though.--chrissy of hailfire 03:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Needless to say (or is it?), but there are some things, such as glasses (giants can wear a few frames), that wouldn't need images uploaded if a Human/Elf image exists, since it's a bit redundant, and it's only facial wear with nothing but change in size really. But yeah, mostly clothing such as Celtics and other whatnot's that aren't just limited time, such as, only two I can currently think of being Cores' Healer Dress and Ceremonial Dress. --Rusty 19:52, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Equipment List Style Change.

As most of you know most of our items have been converted to having the blue colors. but there has been no change to the list of clothing shoes ect. they still have the black backgrounds. I've talked to Angevon about changing them to fit the rest of the wiki and has requested that i get the opinion of everyone else before i go ahead and change things.(the equipments actual page however will not be changed) personally making the lists seem more a part of the site would make things flow smoother, and with the game icons for items being put into transparent backgrounds we dont have to worry about having nasty black blocks. please give your thoughts on this and any suggestions. if you wish to see how the page would look like please visit my userpage where i already started on future content of shoes.--chrissy of hailfire 04:01, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Looking through your user pages history, I could see how it looked when it existed, and I say it looks pretty good. Some items are bound to look pixelated, especially if someone crops out the background poorly, but some sacrifices have to be made. I say continue to go for it, and keep up the good work. --Rusty 19:42, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
