I added the note that they can only be rebirthed following their first week of creation. Felt it needed to be there. --Wrythian 19:26, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Someone needs to fix the Falcon link. It keeps linking it to the Elf Falcon transformation. --User:Lightmaster

Pets stats - previous life stats

"The stats from the pets previous lives will be applied if its greater than its current stats." How so? Does it apply the previous life's stats fully into it? Is it partial? Is it a set amount? I need some clarification about this, please

ThiagoRiolu (talk)12:49, 11 February 2022

As it implies, when rebirthing a pet using the newer Pet Rebirth system (not Pet Cards but instead Pet Rebirth Points) the Pet will always have the highest Base HP/MP/SP/Str/Int etc. they ever achieved (you can hover over each stat to see current versus highest).

Lint (talk)15:29, 11 February 2022

Thanks, it's much clearer now

Creation Glitch

When creating pets in game using the "New Pet" option on the pet tab you will not be able to create more than 4 of the same kind of pet. Changing channels does not fix this, however you may still create more pets from the main menu without a problem.

Mitch burns1 (talk)04:42, 19 March 2015

maybe, at one point, you're suppose to only have 4 of a pet and the option never updated lol. It should be fine if you can still make more than 4 in the char select screen though.

That is my guess as well, and it really is only annoying. But I like to leave my kiosk open, and leaving to create pets could cause me to loose my spot, so it's a tad inconvenient. I mostly put this here so that maybe a developer will see it and fix it.

Mitch burns1 (talk)21:57, 20 March 2015

Well apparently it worked. This is no longer an issue. You can now create as many pets as you want from the in game feature, provided you have the cards, and don't go over the hard pet/character limit that is.

Mounted Combat...

Are you sure it uses some? Because it has the exact same combat stats of the player when mounted o-e

まそっぷ ! (talk)12:59, 1 September 2013

Then again.. equipped a weapon and mounted, same atk range now.

Okay. So. If your damage is higher than the pet's it will assume your damage. Otherwise, it will stay at its own damage. Min/Max damage are treated separately.

I see...that is really strange.

Right now I'm training my Lv 4x Thunder Dragon, and I'm stumped on decisions. Where should I train it?

Also, another question: Is it better if I kill as the Dragon or while mounted on the Dragon?

Infodude57500:28, 9 July 2011

Depends how strong you are, relative to the dragon. It is best to train AS the dragon if you're not that much stronger... but if you're miles ahead, it is better to ride around on the dragon and then hop off to kill things. Taking the dragon along for a Rundal Normal Hard Mode run or so helps. As do Black Desert Bears. You can kill Black Desert Bears AS the dragon with a little patience (mostly by attacking, then taking flight before it hits you to break aggro, then repeating)... but I'm not sure if it is faster than having it attack Angry Black-Tailed Mongooses or not.

SotiCoto13:07, 28 August 2011

Uh, won't the Bear eventually re-aggro after I land?

Infodude57514:54, 28 August 2011

The bear re-aggros pretty quickly, but not quickly enough to stop you if you land on top of it and immediately combo it (then take flight again). It is kinda slow, but it works. Another choice is to land some distance away, load up Smash, then use that on the bear before it re-aggros, followed by Counter or whatever. That may or may not take longer. Not sure yet. I usually go with the down, attack, up, repeat approach.

Pets (my battle pegasus) can oddly trigger the bandit hunting side missions next to commerce npcs, the signpost will allow you to 'hunt' a outlaw and trigger bandit spawns. With a little help from other players, pets can fight them to reap the exp bonus they would give, and collect the items they give. Though pets cannot go into shadow missions, they might not be able to pickup the outlaw homestead pass.

Veteran / Master bandits gives about 4000~7000 XP for goblins. They also have little to no def/prot so unlike a mongoose, your damage will go through better. A battle pegasus has a 175% exp rate so it's much higher. Of course, bandits has higher hp and less predictable AI than mongoose, but you don't have to run very far to spawn em.

But a lv40+ battle pegasus can have a r6 holy rush which can inflict over 1000+ damage to them, easily shortening the time if you can pre-emp them.

Edit: Lol august 30th 2011.
Dra6o0n (talk)22:48, 30 August 2013

...that sounds really absurd and I'ma try on Xhu's Bone Dragon...

umm...under normal circumstances, you can endlessly hunt Black-Tailed Mongoose the Angry or w/e for 2x exp off them. since they are not as spread out as teh White/Black Desert Bears...yeah go nuts. Just make sure you hunt them sparingly, as camping penalty kinda kills the exp.

Why did I reply to an old thread...yikes them recent changes are blindingly awesome.

Dude...it works. I'm going to "report" this to my "superiors..." *coughcough*

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:50, 30 August 2013

Necro, but I've been able to abuse the bandit method because of my marionette skills.

Inventory and RB

When rebirthing a pet, does the inventory size change? If so, what happens to your items if the new species has a smaller inventory?

Sozen Cratos Focker (talk)09:03, 27 May 2013

Rebirthing Pets

When using a pet card that receives an item upon creation, would you receive it for rebirth?

so, i was playing mabinogi and i noticed i could no longer right click an enemy and send a pet at them.

Character/Pet Limit

The pet page still states that the character limit is 80. I have heard from a friend that the limit has increased, although I have not tested myself. Is the new limit, in fact, 100?

Greypaw09:11, 6 June 2012

Rebirthing Dragons

If I were to buy a Fire and Thunder Dragon card when they come out and make a Fire dragon, get it to level 60, then rebirth it into a Thunder Dragon and get it to level 60, will it have both rank 1 Fire and Thunder Breath? Will Fire Breath be usable on Thunder Dragons? Do they share a cooldown timer?

Pyro - (Talk)00:27, 5 June 2011

No. The Fire and Lightning breaths are both special attacks, they will not carry over to another pet (or opposite Dragon) if you rebirth them.

Code 200821:32, 16 June 2011

Also, if you rebirth a currently existing pet into a dragon, will the Dragon Rider Armor be in their inventory?

Pyro - (Talk)09:29, 22 June 2011

Never mind, took a risk and found my answer. You still get the armor set.
