Talk:Lucky Finish
Luck + Lucky Finishes
I don't think Luck has anything to do with Lucky finishes. That or the lower your luck, the higher your chance of getting a lucky finish. Usually, I rarely get a Huge Lucky Finish, but after rebirths, they seem more common until my luck reaches higher again. My friend struck 4 Huge Lucky Finishes with 0 Luck after rebirthing. --Kevin (»Talk«) 23:22, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
How odd cause with zero luck I'm averaging about 1-2 huge luckies a month...before when i had 39 luck I was getting multiple a week.--Tehtammar 08:27, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Lucky Finish Max Drop
I'm almost certain that the max drop is wrong, as I recall getting 27K from a huge lucky finish on a rat man. Could anyone try spamming the higher gold-drop mobs to check this? --Fracture Talk
- I remember getting larger drops than that from Mushroom Forest Spiders. Probably red ones. --Jerl 08:15, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- 21k is the max, due to the limited space on the ground after a kill 21k is the most i know of anyone getting, problem is most the time people are too excited trying to grab all the gold that they miscount and since its unexpected people rarely know what they had in bag beforehand.--Tehtammar 08:27, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- I remember getting a huge lucky finish that seemed to be a max (from a rat man), and I think I do recall the formation of the uh... mounds of gold, looking like a square (if you were to picture it like a grid), with 1....mound missing from each corner, so its like an octagon/fail circle thing. so it could either be (5^2)-4, or something smaller or bigger. (YES, I had to bring math into this :D) So I'm going to have to say I'm going with 21k. Either way, its bigger than the average...ish.. like.. 500ish gold? f3--♪♫♪♫ѕταя♪♫♪♫ταιқ♪♫♪ 01:59, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- Just received a huge lucky finish from a zombie and got the max 21k (cept someone took 2k right after I finished counting how many were on the floor...)I also took a picture, although it isn't very nice since there's grass covering it. --Akumo 02:15, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Image
Should we put up an Image of a lucky finish? It should be easy to get, now that you can record video.--Leyuu 14:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- And how do you suggest we shall place a video onto a wiki page? --κєνıи (»тαıĸ«) 15:57, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Video? Even if one could be put on page it's kind of irrelevant, however a picture of a Huge lucky(max gold) might clear up a little confusion *point up a section in talk page*--Tehtammar 08:27, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Affected by Luck STAT? | 21 | 00:53, 20 February 2014 |
Monster Lucky Finish | 1 | 23:13, 26 December 2013 |
So according to this formula, there's no luck STAT involved. So this is just contrary to popular belief?
yeah. A test was conducted by several Japanese players using 0 luck and killing the same monsters over for about 10000 kills. Lucky gathers is the only thing affected.
Also Lucky Gathers are not possible with 0 luck.
Mikaya, I trust you, but a seed of doubt has sprouted. Blassreiter also removed the information you added on this topic.
Can you please prove you're right on this?
It is a really hard thing to prove. If Geocities.co.jp ever puts the site back up, then I would gladly link it. It's really up to the user to send a request to get it back up and such. :s I can't really do much outside of that lost data. I do know tests have been done. I don't honestly trust the JP wiki at times but they say that 1 luck contributes to .005% towards lucky finish rates. I do know for a fact that lucky gathers at 0 luck do not occur...period. Even with 5 luck, you can still get some lucky gathers. Hell, even the data was recently posted to the JP wiki (which i'ma bit shocked...maybe they got it here? I don't know.).
I'm not going to lie, it is very hard to prove how Luck direct influences anything consider how absurd passive evasion is...e-e. If it calms anyone down, playing as Ruairi and attempting to get lucky finishes proves very little. With his massive amount of luck, you'd think every strike out of a small number like say...1 out of 5 would make the guy strike finishes everywhere.
I'm also not surprised at the amount of doubt that has sprouted.
I'll just quote the JP wiki on its explanation on Luck in its entirety:
運[edit]
Luck
Lucky1/66 Big Lucky1/200 Huge Lucky1/1000
Lucky=1/(2000/Luck) Huge=1/(50000/Luck)
Lucky1/66 Big Lucky1/200 Huge Lucky1/1000
Lucky=1/(2000/Luck) Huge=1/(50000/Luck)
Wait, these are the formulas for Lucky Finish and Lucky Gather, respectively? Don't we use some of our sources from JP wiki?
yeah. And yes, we have used a few things from JP wiki. I should mention that it was only confirmed with 180 luck.
I spoke with Kadalyn on IRC, she says the information is fine so long as there is a source, and we have used JP wiki as one several times. Only problem is I have no idea how to navigate JP Wiki.
I wonder if this sort of controversy happened when configuring Critical's 30% cap...
more than likely it may have. I'm not surprised Blassreiter for removing either. Everyone has the right to doubt numbers that sound absurd/illogical/stupid/made up/etc. Even I was doubting when my JP buddies forwarded me their luck results because of the lack of updates concerning luck (maybe that's why the numbers are there...). At any rate, it can stay taken down if necessary.
Well, I don't doubt you (or I'm denying the doubt).
You do raise a good point about Ruairi and Cessair's Heart. They have 1490 Luck (minus the 10 from character creation) and yet their lucky finish rate seems to be the same as a player with 100 or 0 luck.
As for Lucky Gather, the only NPC with high luck who actually gathers is Shakespeare, I think. The one where he mines flint. Sadly, he only had 500ish Luck, and IIRC the mission clears instantly once the animation completes...
Have those JP people done tests on other things and if they did were those proven to be accurate?
I also want to point out the -10 luck only affects critical %. Everything else appears to leave Luck unscaled and has no known cap on luck-based effects.
It... doesn't? Now I'm really more confused about that -10 aspect...
-10 only applies to critical calculation. What's there to not understand? Luck appears to be unscaled when calculating bonus gathers.
I also want to word this:
Luck1あたりラッキーフィニッシュ発生率0.005倍ずつ上昇
To something like every 1 luck adds .005% chance of a lucky finish...that's is really minuscule...and just awkward as hell to say.
I meant overall. 10 is nonexistent so shouldn't the subtraction be universal to everything?
1 Luck = .005% increased chance. 1,500 Luck = 7.5% increased chance. That sounds awfully doubtful...
Apparently not if it's using a whole number to begin with. Luck a strange stat to tackle when getting everything down outside of critical calculations :c
Large math aside, 1/66 + .075 isn't exactly much of an improvement to begin with.
I hate this game when it comes to incredibly weird and ridiculous calculations.
(# / 0 Luck) = Undefined
1 / Undefined = ?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? THIS IS MADNESS
Probably so. I know they took awhile to find the Dex formula as well as some of the values for the new Defense/Protection scaling, majority of their cooking recipes through trail and errors. Nothing really goes unchecked as far as I'm concerned.
Well, if we've come to rely on some of their formulas I wouldn't mind putting back in their Lucky formulas.
A Basilisk got a Lucky Finish on my Pierrot Marionette. I'm completely puzzled by this, I mean monsters never get Lucky Finishes on us players. O-o
That happens to anything summoned by players for some strange reason. I once saw a Raccoon ko someone's peirrot and they got a lucky finish effect. I'm not sure if it's a bug.
