Correct me if I'm wrong, but Charge should be added to this list, too, right?
No. Charge can be used last I played on a giant, so assumed the same for a charge w/o shield reforged human.
That's some weird shit.
Charge and Lance Charge share the same cooldown. A giant can use either whenever they want and it does not switch your weapon. However, I'm pretty sure a human cannot use charge with just a lance equipped. I believe it'll say you need shield or switch to your other gear if you have one equipped already.
I'd have to test it though because I don't play little humans much :)
Not sure why they didn't just consolidate the two skills along with Counterattack + Lance Counter and save some hotkey spots. It's totes possible.
That seems pointless and unnecessary to me. Not to mention the skills are entirely different.
I think IDSd's idea makes sense since you're not going to use one when you have the other. It would also make it possible, for example, to switch between traditional melee + shield, and lances without having to switch hotkey sets.
Not that it matters though, we don't control how the game works, lol.
Yeah, but it barely even passes as a skillset in the first place.
And that extra ap. :(
True, lance doesn't have much, but I don't want it to have even less!
AP isn't so bad, especially with the free talent ap now :)
As much as I don't like redundancy and copypaste skills, more stats is better than none.
Does the amount of protection ignored form piercing level also ignore the 2% crit reduction per point of protection? Or is the protection ignored only for damage purposes?
Cool, then i guess this makes knight lances one of the best weapons for critting. time to go smash some sirens.
I don't think piercing affects crit chance. 133% crit with level 8 piercing isn't critting easy girgashiy. That along with several other lancers also saying it doesn't.
Well Enlightenment's probably to blame. Either that or it never ignored protection critical at all.
Girgashiy has 125 Protection Stat and 70% Effective Protection, according to some people crit is based on Effective Protection, making Girgashiy have 140% Critical Resistance. Piercing is based on Protection Stat (I think?), and level 8 piercing would lower its Protection Stat to 85 and Effective Protection to 59%, thus giving 118% Critical Resistance. If you're not critting him with 133% and level 8 Piercing then clearly piercing has no effect on critical.
Now, that raises the question if piercing has any effect on Injury.
I don't know if it's just me or it's universal but did Lances really lose the ability to rush forward towards the enemy after the last hit of a normal combo, and cannot be forced to walk for a short period after the lance's normal combo anymore? After a combo I don't lunge forward and I'm not slowed to a walk. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does that mean Lances are changed now?
Made a topic on Mabination and two other guys have the same situation. Except the "lunge and walk" comes randomly. It usually happens when the enemy has a full Knockdown Meter but not always. Maybe a glitch.
is that even possible o.o....?
Giants supposedly get a reduced minimum distance penalty and less combo finisher delay. Do we have any approximate values how much of a reduction they get?
One thing I've noticed when wielding a lance with my giant is that whenever I do a regular combo with it I walk afterwards even though I've been told giants don't have to. Is this because of an in-game error or is the info on these pages false?
- Human players take longer to recover from the normal combo than Giants.
- Players will be forced to walk for a short period after the lance's normal combo.
Quoted from the article. Doesn't mention that they aren't force to walk.
Giants have a reduced minimum distance with Lances and may equip Shields with them. They recover faster from the normal Lance combo and are not forced to walk shortly after.
Quoted from the Giant article. One of these two needs to be edited. :/
How? How do you increase the level of Piercing?
Shouldn't a lance's Def/Prot penetration be part of its page? I think we need to figure out a way to display this also.
Not exactly. Lance have a predetermined "Piercing Level" which dictates the amount ignored. Certain enchants can change this. We can just make a note of the lance's natural level with a link to the page on piercing.
Does the protection ignored also apply to prot. critical reduction, or does it only apply to damage calculation?
I know the page says Defense may not be used, but I merely wonder if this applies to giants too? It seems really schmaltzy to not allow giants to use Defense if they can equip a shield with the lance. Any confirmation would be appreciated.
I understand the inability to use Counterattack, what with Lance Counter, and it is sensible a human or elf would be unable to defend properly, with such a large weapon. It is merely my belief that a giant should be able to defend; especially given that they can equip a shield. I am sure they can use Wind Guard, so it is apparent they can utilize the shield effectively. Oh well though; what can be done? It is probably too late for the Korean community to voice their opinion, though there is always chance for re-balancing and such. I will not hold my breath though.
Thank you for the reply.
Defence with a lance is useless either way, since you can't attack with it at that range.
Lances are probably the strongest 2 handed weapons. Giants use the shield for enchant space to make it even stronger.
Personally, I am too lazy and casual to bother hunting enchant(er)s. That, and having taken the time to rank my Defense to Rank 1, I greatly appreciate the worth of the skill. I am sure there is also enough time to simply move backwards to attack, since I always have the time to move back and load another defense. But oh well. Another question then: if you try to use Defense with a lance, and have "Automatic weapon slot conversion" enabled, does it change your weapon slots to use Defense (provided you are capable of using the skill with your other weapon slot)?
