Idling now kicks you

Apparently you can't afk anymore. Just running into a wall doesn't cut it. Might have to get points every so often.

QuazarGuy (talk)07:46, 7 January 2014

As long as you whack something, you're not considered idling. You don't have to get points, except in the last round.

QuazarGuy (talk)08:04, 7 January 2014

Incorrect. Whacking things is still treated as idleness, even if you score points doing so.

Lionheart (talk)06:17, 10 January 2014

hahaha that's what you get for being lazy 8D...Not that I'm saying you are and...ehh I'm taking this too seriously still *goes back to taking first place over and over*

ベリサ・マイルスター (talk)08:33, 7 January 2014

The game kicks you out for idling after the mission is over, and that was there before the maintenance. Are you saying it kicks you out within the first few minutes of not doing anything?

Infodude575 (talk)12:14, 7 January 2014

Yes, it kicks you out within about 30 seconds if you do nothing.

QuazarGuy (talk)13:51, 7 January 2014

Try still not refunded?

I saw a guy running around the room and not hitting anyone or anything and he didn't get booted.

Infodude575 (talk)14:18, 7 January 2014

Just trying to find the least amount of required work. I have yet to try whacking something in place. Moving the mouse to run around the room is more calories than just clicking one spot. :p

QuazarGuy (talk)15:51, 7 January 2014

But I don't want to do exercise QQ.

Infodude575 (talk)15:57, 7 January 2014

Can we please confirm that you actually have to hit something and get points to not get booted?

EDIT:

H&S 0.png

I didn't hit anything or anyone, all I did was run around the room, and I never got booted.

Infodude575 (talk)11:43, 8 January 2014

Yep, you only have to move every so often.

QuazarGuy (talk)13:32, 8 January 2014

Infodude found the key. You just need to keep moving. If you must wait out being frozen twice in a row, take a step before you resume hitting props.

Lionheart (talk)06:24, 10 January 2014

How the hell is this making the event better?

Infodude575 (talk)15:12, 11 January 2014

its not. I've gotten booted from the last room after all the things were dead/knocked out waiting for the event run to end before.

Legiathan (talk)14:09, 13 January 2014

Just curious

To the edit that says "Potion of Strength (Called xml.itemdb.46940)", wouldn't it only appear like that in game if someone is modding? Please correct me if I'm wrong though. Just asking as I'm not sure it's something we should have on here if it's an error caused by an outdated mod.

Miyani (talk)17:40, 19 December 2013

Yes, that is correct (or if Nexon missed a line in their update). It does seem the name exists in the game, though I can't verify that.

Ikkisuki (talk)17:42, 19 December 2013

I've seen xml.something.#### names on other occasions, like Keith's Gold Pouch dungeon. The Girl on the Moon presently has a name like that. I'm guessing that's what happens when Nexon's language translation database is missing an entry. But I haven't had that happen with Hide & Seek event potions.

Lionheart (talk)06:37, 10 January 2014

Were you expecting it to happen to the potions? O.o

Ikkisuki (talk)14:54, 10 January 2014

1 of three four things could have happened

  1. Your files are outdated. Re-install to the latest revision (Current as of this post R177)
  2. Your mods are outdated...no details here...
  3. Nexon messed up an update. expect a fix in fornever
  4. Nexon deleted an entry somewhere...see #3.

Bad Trees?

Out of all the times I have hit a christmas tree, I have always found those NPCs and never once got debuffed. Am I really that lucky or?

Infodude575 (talk)13:55, 22 December 2013

Never happened to me either.

Meru (talk)13:59, 22 December 2013

Maybe it's just speeding up in the placement that causes it from what I notice.

ベリサ・マイルスター (talk)16:29, 22 December 2013

Stat potions?

Can anyone confirm/deny that the stat boosting potions last through a rebirth?

Edetha (talk)02:27, 21 December 2013

Permanently

ベリサ・マイルスター (talk)02:53, 21 December 2013

I believe OP wants someone to vouch rather than a left-aligned quote.

Hell, to this day, I don't believe those books give permanent stats, but I never cared enough to test it.

Ikkisuki (talk)07:06, 21 December 2013

From what I noticed, and doing some hard calculations, they are permanent.

ベリサ・マイルスター (talk)16:26, 21 December 2013

Disconnect fails everyone

It seems that if someone disconnects, no one gets a prize at the end. Anyone else come across this?

QuazarGuy (talk)18:29, 20 December 2013

I know that if someone disconnects or otherwise leaves, if you try to complete the event without them, Caravan Joe won't reward you after you leave, and it will still count as one of your daily 5 tries.

Not sure if leaving before finishing in such a case also uses up your tries.

Iyasenu (talk)18:38, 20 December 2013

Treasure Box and Cursed Labyrinth events does not refund a try if you left midway, so it probably affects this event too.

Infodude575 (talk)19:07, 20 December 2013

Speculations

Just throwing out things I've noticed while doing the event:

  • Christmas Tree = 1 hit; has a chance of having 2 characters.
  • Reindeer = 1 hit; either has 1 character hiding, or freezes you.
  • Boxes = 3 hits
  • Sacks / Shoes = 1 - 5 hits
  • Every 5 characters found inflicts the other players with a random status effect / debuff.
  • Every character in the first two stages gives 50 points.
  • Each Christmas Elf / Humbugger / Rudolph in the last stage gives 150 points.
  • Score does not affect rewards. Placement determines which reward you'll get.
  • Freeze! Stop Right There! can bounce / ricochet off enemies in the last stage, stunning multiple enemies.

I got one. Someone add it for me please? http://puu.sh/5SEdl.png

Kirbysama (talk)03:57, 20 December 2013

What box did you get it from?

QuazarGuy (talk)04:24, 20 December 2013

AP Potions

I'm suspecting the amount of AP the AP pots gives is random within a range for the different boxes.

QuazarGuy (talk)13:55, 19 December 2013

AP has a range between 10 (so far...) to perhaps 30 from the direction of the numbers.
