Finally they patched it... sigh... so many people were pissed at trnity staff lag.. time to train hailstorm now!
Wow, look at Test server update of July 16,2010. If you find bug in test server, we will award you with prize! ARE THEY SERIOUS??!! THEY CANT EVEN FIND THEIR OWN MISTAKE???? sigh,, at least they fixed hailstorm... Fallenone 13:43, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- No...that's the point of a TEST server. To get a large group of people to do hours of testing in a short time, so that mistakes can be fixed. --Sephy 20:12, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Explanation
Because no one updated vidio yet and I don't know how to, I will just explain the hailstorm. When you charge hailstorm, you lose A LOT of mana, like 70~100, and it takes LONG time to charge. After you finish charging, white cloud stay around you and you make nasty looking ice piece (looks like hailstorm icon) on tip of your staff. It takes very few second to make these ice. After you finish, you shoot the ice piece and you make another ice piece. This keep going on for 30 seconds (rank F). Once you get hit, hailstorm cancels so becareful! (once video comes out, I will delete this. So someone put this data in detail section if you want) Fallenone 14:56, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- I've added the details on the main page, got the trinity staff from nerys after the last patch. Things to note, the tier 2 magics have been weakened (rF Ice spear 100~110->80~88) and cast time reduction seems to have been removed entirely (I only have ice mastery to r5 so I'm not sure if its COMPLETELY removed) Tellos 20:36, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
New Inventory Slots?
When she equipped the trinity staff, I noticed she had those slate looking items "equipped". I'm fairly sure that they're something to do with G12, some sort of "Items of the Gods", but what exactly ARE they, and what do they do?--Th3Evil5Ponge 03:52, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Treasures of Falias, which buff demigod. --kaede-kit 04:11, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! That's pretty cool... buffs for Demigod... so how exactly do they buff it? Increase damage, duration, movement speed?--Th3Evil5Ponge 17:14, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Decrease Cooltime, increase damage, improve speed (even though you are not in demi-god mode), just as you guessed it.Fallenone 21:00, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Range
skillinfo says it's 1000, (200 less than icespear and 1000 less than fireball). someone verify this--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 02:32, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- I've used it on KR test and it has the EXACT same range as ice bolt. Skillinfo also says Down attack has a prep time of 1000, which is incorrect. Its likely that the weekly skill patching for test server is entirely server-sided. Tellos 02:40, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Splash
Splash at rF is not 0. I managed to hit 2 rats with it at F when they were practicaly on top of each other. Tellos 03:37, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Ice Spear??
What happens to Ice Spear now? Obviously it's going to stay in the game, but what about all those people who trained it only to have it replaced with a faster, more MP efficient, better stat giving skill? Especially when the minimum damage you're going to do with 42 charges over 30 seconds is 8400- not counting the max damage or int bonus or ice mastery bonus or anything. Is there any benefit at all to using Ice Spear over this? Ihazzai 13:26, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Ice Spear has better splash range, a faster load time, the freeze effect, the ability to chain explosions not to mention the damage bonus obtained when using a crown ice wand. Hailstorm fails to outclass Ice Spear because they're not really comparable.---Kaeporo 16:24, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Hailstorm is very mana intensive (costs a minimum of 50mp, and a maximum of 281 mp for the whole duration), can only be used with a fully-charged trinity staff, has a short range, requires you to stand still for the entire duration, requires you to sit around doing nothing for 6.5 seconds while it charges up, and deals damage over time rather than being a one-shot attack like Ice Spear. It honestly sounds very slow, inconvenient and frankly overkill even if you manage to use it at all. Apart from some world bosses I don't really think it has much use, and even then it's iffy due to your susceptibility to AoEs while you use it. And of course it'll be completely useless in PVP due to pitiful range.13:24, 14 December 2010 (PST)
- Er thats not quite accurate. First of all hailstorm can be used with any type of charge or any level of charge including no charge. Second of all it costs ~220 for the full duration if you factor in masteries. Its usefull against extremely bulky mobs as it is capable of dishing out 2500+ non crit damage on a max charged crystal for a high level mage, meaning its 1v1 damage efficiency is nearly unmatched. Its splash AoE is poor, and its not good for lesser mobs, but IS is used more from breaking up large mobs and rendering them nonthreatening, whereas Hailstorm is used to lay out intense damage on one target. The 6.5 second load is typicaly overcome by master mages using lightning bolts to push the target to a wall, counter+thundering them to hold them still, then using the 6 second stun to setup hailstorm and finish them off. Also, in demigod it is the rough equivalanet of spaming short range light spears as demigod's regeneration causes hailstorm to use virtualy no mana. Ice spear's typcal use is largeley replaced by bolt composer as IS is now the strongest skill in the game for the end game player. Tellos 14:20, 14 December 2010 (PST)
Charge Multiplier?
Do the charges stack linearly or is there some sort of multiplier like Firebolt and Icespear (6.5x @ 5 charges)?
- As it says on the page, its just multiplied by the number of charges. Tellos 14:39, 9 February 2011 (PST)

Does it still require not having this and that skill quest in progress? Renovation patch notes only said Fireball, Thunder, and Ice Spear.
Yeah, I don't think that restriction changed.
When the spell gives me the 10 second warning, if I try to attack anything, the skill just cancels itself. Bug?
About half way threw the example it looks like the person is hit by a wind blast, but isn't knocked back.
Is this just because the person was in Demi or is that normal for Hail?
I dont know why but during the quest for getting it, when on the hunt ice wyverns part the quest marker is in barri dungeon lobby. Are there ice wyverns in there or something that counts to complete that?
I just want to say "o_o" But this may be a bug. Cause the Wyverns can be found at Zardine, so you have to make some Hot Air Baloon trip ;)
Yeah i know, i had them killed shortly after postying this but i was wondering if there was something that satisfied it in barri, cause that would make doing the quest easier since wyverns are annoying to kill.
