Talk:Generation 9: Alchemist
Release Date (2/10/10)
I know, G8 just came out, but isn't that what they said when it did? That G7 had just come out? The Jap and Korean servers are many generations ahead of us, and I like to think that we could receive them in rapidity. If anybody has any Nexon leaks or news, post/link it here.... PLEASE!! --Haven923
- (No need to indent first)
- You're unlikely to find a realistic release date for anything from NEXON, as they keep as much unknown as possible, preferring to provide us with surprises. If one was to take a humble guess, I'd think we'd be getting G9 in around April or May. (POSSIBLY March, but unlikely) They could also release a semi-big patch for the anniversary, like they did last year. ~Zallist 16:42, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have only been playing Mabi for about 8 months and only seen one major patch (G8) so I wanted to get an opinion from someone who has been on longer than me ;)--Haven923 18:34, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Well, they have released a picture of Taillteann, so G9 shouldn't be too far off. If I remember correctly, they released pictures of Zardine just over a month before it was released. Goody :D --Haven923 00:22, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- omg, now more news. A teaser of the Adniel's Horn Bugle action T^T --Haven923 00:56, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
I have added it to this section's title. Nexon has apparently released a date on the cover of the new Erin Walker that Alchemist will be released on Wednesday, the 10th of February, 2010. I'm happy.--Haven923 15:37, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Name
Nexon seems to have the name for Generation 9 set as Alchemist (as seen here). Should the page be moved to Generation 9: Alchemist yet? --Jαy 01:15, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- I vote yes --Haven923 14:59, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Duel - Generations
'Any race may take part in G9. Humans can start and do G9 simultaneously with G1, G2, or G3.' Is it just g1,g2 and g3 or can g8 be skipped too. --Zaros 19:45, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
- I guess we will find out soon... though I rushed to finish G7 and G8 on my elf for this... did both in 3 days. But realistically, since G8 has the action to use in G9, id say no. But who knows? *stares at nexon website waiting for it to finish patching. --Yuuka 09:09, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- The way it works is that you can do all the Chapter's mainstream storylines at the same time. Meaning if you're human and you meet the current level requirement, you can do g1~g3, g7~g8, and g9~g12 at the same time respectively, since it is in their own chapters. --Miyuna 09:10, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Cutscene Error
So for the Alchemist Seal, I get nothing but a black screen, and occasionally Leymour and Cai pop up and say something. It actually took 7 minutes(I saw the timer for a couple of seconds) until it went out of that state, and then it started showing the cutscene.
I know I'm not the only one that had this problem, either. --Jαy 23:03, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Alchemist's Seal RP Glitches
When I played through that mission, I only had one person. I played as Fallon while Cai remained stationary. This seemed to majorly mess up the spawn patterns of the enemies, and I would often have to wait 5+ minutes for them to spawn Kefka 03:24, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- Isn't that just server lag? ~~Darkblade
Weird Cat?
There's no need to talk to the weird cat to start G9, whether you have started G1/2/3 or not. Or does the comment @ the top of the page mean something else? --κєνıи (»тαıĸ«) 08:32, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Death in Completed Alchemy Experiment?
Q: What happens if you die in the Alchemy Experiment Quest, then a party member clears it and turns out to have no feathers, also you have no method of Ressurection. What happens? ~~Darkblade
- They get the clue and you revive in town. --Leyuu 21:17, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'm asking what happens to your clue. The mission gets cleared, but you lost a clue. Darkblade132 03:23, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- You won't get a clue. You'll either end up going to the next experiments level or have to repeat the current one. The experiments caps out at number VIII. If you don't get all your clues by then, Dorren will keeping giving you VIII. --- Angevon (Talk) 03:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- Oh... repeats... I see. Thanks Darkblade132 00:22, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Jenna and Leymore
I didn't get this quest. It just skipped right to the Heart of Courcle. --κєνıи (»тαıĸ«) 04:35, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I got this one a bit (about a mission, not sure on exact length) after I received the Heart of Courcle quest, they'll both be in the quest log at the same time. --Duet 05:18, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I got it right after I did the Sketch. Darkblade132 00:22, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- I concur. It might be in the wrong place. I just got the Heart of Courcle sketch quest now, and missed the Jenna and Leymore. More information to come as I work through the shadow mission and sketch. But, for now, I'm goin to bed. Scratch that. Stayed up to do some Mana Crystallization and got the Jenna and Leymore quest shortly after I got the Heart of Courcle one. Jenna and Leymore comes a little after the Heart of Courcle, so I think ti's fine where it is.--Demaetri (Talk) 08:18, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Equipment drop against Claimh
Despite what it says, I dropped my robe, got revived and before I could pick it up the battle finished. Once back in Taillteann I was able to claim it from the lost and found. Anyone else actually lost an item this way?--Mystickskye 08:29, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm actually iffy about that... There was one run I did on Advanced, and after reviving someone who had dropped a Gladius, Claimh was killed before he could pick it up. He checked the "Lost and Found" place, but it was not there. So... I dunno what to say about that... =X --Lt. Jessie 20:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Elatha RP quest
Read the part for this quest on here and it says that most of his attacks only do one damage. I've been hitting normal damage this whole time. Schoch 21:31, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- Didn't have to run all the way back through the dungeon either. Leaving from the statue after the boss room worked fine. Schoch
Secret Experiment
After completing Secret Experiment Clue VII and obtaining Clue #4, I got Secret Experiment Clue V. Since this is G9S2 (or, rather, after the skills/farming patch) is this something new or just a random stroke of beneficial luck? Ashsaber
- Actually, there is a glitch with the experiments. I've tested it and just forgot to add it on here. If you have a high quest, then you can join another person's party who is doing a quest lower than yours and do the mission with them. If you "gave up" your quest before entering the shadow mission, then Dorren will give you the quest after the one you just beat. Example: You are on quest VIII, you find a person on quest I. You give up your quest and do the shadow mission with them. Now you can talk to Dorren and get quest number II. This is very useful for avoiding the harder quests. On my mage, I was on experiment VIII and still needed three more clues (due to some horrible luck and a lack of feathers) and decided to use this glitch when I found a person on quest I. If you have two people both on the experiments, you can do them together and, using the glitch, can only ever have to do experiment III once. (first person uses their I, then II, then other person's I after which the first gets II. Then do either II, then the other II, then do III.) Very, VERY nifty ;) --Haven923 04:56, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Entrance to Noitar Arat - Barri run
It says that on advance difficulty, the dungeon is Barri basic/advance, yet I saw no advanced enemies in my run. Just Gremlins, Vampire Bats, King Mimics, Flying Swords and 3 Gorgons. --a random Person. 04:21, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
- I guess it's either Barri Basic OR Advanced? I haven't gotten to that part yet, so I don't know. --Jay 04:38, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Fomors' Counterattack Redirect
This quest is missing its punctuation. It's not that it's a bad thing since a lot of people won't use the apostrophe, but could someone create a redirect so that if someone does use the apostrophe in a search it will end up in the right place? Sorry, I don't know how to do it. I looked for this quest forever before I tried looking for other punctuation or spelling options. (In general, I think the G9/Taillteann/Shadow mission lists are a confusing mess - see my talk page if you wonder why I'm confused)--~Shadoe 05:28, 24 April 2010 (UTC) Someone's done the redirect. Thanks. --~Shadoe 20:50, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Just a minor gripe, but for "conflict! an unexpected battle" you can actually have ONE guard die without failing. Two guards, however, is a failure. ~Maxurion
For the "Conflict! An Unexpected Battle" what are the requirements to succeed the mission? Defeating the Shadow Warrior didn't seem to do anything at all. So are we suppose to kill every monster on the field? SoraHikari 03:05, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- Why not visit this page here? The requirements listed that you have to kill ALL of the enemy monsters before they kill two or more npcs... so yea, kill them all before they even have a chance to kill the rest of the npcs. =/ --Miyuna 03:50, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Just making sure :], before I saw on the G9 page someone had put Defeat the Shadow Warriors to complete "Conflict! An Unexpected Battle". SoraHikari 14:09, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
- Personally I find it easier to kill the archers behind the barrier first by just entering from the west side as fast as possible at the start of the mission before they can see you. After that it's just a matter of killing all fighters without worrying about arrows. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄ƷCosmicƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♀☆ 『 T a L k 』♪ C o n t r i b s 19:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Clue # formula instead of list
Where # is the clue number you are looking for, (# -1)*3=start time, #*3=end time
So 1 is from 0000 to 0300
2 is from 0300 to 0600
- I hope you dont mind, i edited it so you could see the "-" in front of the 1, it looked like #1--Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 04:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Should this be included?
Seems that some people disconnect at the Temple Knights' "Jenna's Memory" Quest and to resolve it is to talk to Collen for a new one. (Without a Shadow Mission in questlog) SoraHikari 00:59, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
G9 Final Claimh Solas W/ Party?
When it says that anyone who has the quest will get it completed if they kill Claimh, that makes me wonder two things: -Will only the party lead be able to summon Adniel after Claimh is down to 1/3? -Does difficulty of the leader's quest matter or will it complete the quest regardless?--XxxTarlachxxx 22:43, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Skipping G9
Is it possible to skip G9 once G10 comes out?IHarryl 10:14, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
Nope, there is NO way to skip G9, as I am learning right now. You gain the critical alchemy skills for later on, as you MUST have Life Drain for G10 doppleganger.--Magiobiwan 23:24, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Clues After G10 Update
I noticed that when I started the clues from #1, it always gave me 2 pieces. I did this on Int. Can anyone confirm this?? --Kiyoura 00:59, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- I can confirm. Happened 100% of the time to all party members no matter what the time was (even party members not participating in the clue collection). The first piece is the guaranteed clue # and the second is random. I was also on int. -MrEngenious 4:11, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
How to start G9S2 side quest?
Is it nessacery to have finished G9S1 (mainstream) to start the G9S2 side quest? or do you just talk to all the NPCs listed and THEN get the thing, or is it a passive quest?--Magiobiwan 23:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Thats for the G10 one , isn't it? But Ive already finsihed Temple Knights quest for G9. Im gonna test and see if it might not be a Passive quest.--Magiobiwan 01:28, 27 July 2010 (UTC) It is not a passive quest. I dont know how you get it, but people have done it. It might be a quest you get after you become friends with Andras. Her Personal story talks about the fact she is or might be an elf. I will test this using friendship potions.--Magiobiwan 03:13, 27 July 2010 (UTC) Hmm, might not be able to test that after all, Tara event ended so I got no pots...--Magiobiwan 00:31, 30 July 2010 (UTC) This might be it. I noticed you have to do a LOT of stuff in Filia, stuff which giants probably couldn't do. Maybe you have to be an elf ally?--Magiobiwan 13:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, my character that did G9S2 was in fact a giant-sided human, I just used the good o'l technique of trapping the guards on the side of the house behind Castena so I could safely talk to Castena (You could talk to her only for the duration of the quest) SoraHikari 14:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Temple Knights Beginner Bugged?
I have just tried to do the temple knights rundal dungeon under 100 levels ( beginner) but it appears to be highly bugged. the goddess statue appears in a random area, the door you need to exit appears to be ebhind water and half of the doors never spawn but still register collision while other are spawned without collision. anyone else get this? i'll try to get screenshots to show you what I mean. --Chaoskirina 20:27, 01 August 2010
Correction. temple knights on tarlach is bugged. -- Chaoskirina 13:11, 02 August 2010
i completed the clue book and got the reward before i got the quest after the clues quest
would that somehow effect g9--Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 04:34, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

I didn't receive the shadow mission, but I got the necklace. I am unable to enter the shadow world. Is there any way I can obtain the shadow mission?
Nevermind, didn't read properly.
Using the necklace should give it to you.
Ahh. Haven't touched G9 in forever :x Glad you're back on track.
I didn't realize how wrong I was on this part, entering after noon does award you the 1-4 scraps, had to see it for myself the third time. Damn.
Since I still have some characters on the old quest line, should we archive the old quests? Though right after the completion of that quest, they get jumped into the renewal. Any changes for the shadow missions will stay, but the actual quest is changed...if that makes any sense.
In that case, we should archive the older version but write a note on both changes that completing the quest will warp them to the newer version.
Also doing the old quests that involves warps (like going to renes after rescue Jenna) also applies.
I ran secret expi. 1 without opening the end chest(this was accidental, "These Shadow Mission's reward chests contain Alchemy Experiment Scraps. You must put these clues within the book. " should be in bold) and didn't receive the 1~4th scraps. I left the shadow realm and saw that I hadn't receive the scraps OR fulfilled the quest requirement for them. I talked to Dorren, hoping she'd notice I was lacking them and give me the quest again but she just gave me the second quest. I completed the second quest and got the 5~8th scraps but now every time I talk to her she just gives me the second quest again. If I run the second quest again will it give me the 1~4th scraps? I really don't want to run it again if I don't have to
If you are re-doing Secret Experiment Clues, you are right. Talking to Dorren only gets you Secret Experiment Clue II quest. Enter this mission on 00:00~11:59 when Palala is out and if you also enter the boss room on the same mission during 00:00~11:59 when Palala is out will give you scraps 5~8. If you enter this mission on 12:00~23:59 when Eweca is out and if you also enter the boss room on the same mission during 12:00~23:59 when Eweca is out will give you scraps 1~4.
There are some changes I noted when working on G9. Difficulty (as in Shadow Mission levels) is much lower. I should be getting Hard, but am now getting Int. Also, for the quest "Entrance of Noitar Arat," there is no longer a Barri Dungeon component. I was given the Shadow Mirror and the Last Battle Shadow Mission (also Int) automatically. I haven't progressed past this and I was up to Shadow Expeditionary Force once this season started, so I know of no other changes. Magick (talk) 20:53, 1 May 2013 (PDT)
What lvl was your highest leveled talent? All shadow missions have been talent-based rather than total based, but it took a while for them to adjust generations until now.
It came out not long ago, so we're making adjustments as we go.
I'M STILL CONFUSED ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS BY "BASED ON EXP THAN LEVEL"
I said "it took them a while for them to adjust" being they updated teh shadow missions late, in G17S4 instead of S3. And by "exp" they mean talent exp, not literal exp.
Tldr: Talents lvls=New CP
My highest talent is Skilled, so that would be Advanced, not Int. And yeah, I know; before the update, I literally could not continue G9. It wouldn't allow to start the missions because I was getting Hard level missions due to my total level, but couldn't enter because my talent level wasn't Expert. So yes, I did think about that but I would be getting Advanced, not Int. Unless that's something they overlooked.
They no longer have lv3 Natural Shield (at least with an elf)
If they still do have it, there could be two reasons why the video doesn't apply.
A: It's on a dragon.
B: They were both critical.
It is also possible that only certain temple knights or from certain missions have them. However, I don't know since I'm not an archer. Have you tested this yourself?
Edit: The video says temple knights with shields.
Edit 2: Okay I am way too oblivious...
Aww, you named a video after me. =o But I agree, this is enough evidence to prove that Temple Knights with shields no longer have Natural Shield unless other evidence is presented. Have you test any other passive defenses or with dual wielding or archer temple knights? The shielded one might not be alone in this change.
Just curious. It seems kinda odd since any other Generation that included a S2 aspect of it still has it on their main pages.
Edit: Found it, discussion is on the "NPC Quest" page.
Originally it said that you cant use the horn until you fight Claimh Solas, however, that says you can use the horn in g10, regardless if you have beaten g8 or not. that is not true. changed to saying Until you have finished Generation 8, you cannot use the Hornpipe for any battle other than the one with Claimh Solas. --Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 14:20, 10 January 2011 (PST)
Is there a particular reason why, the S2 information was removed? You can still find it in the history changes section. I think Aramet accidently blew out the last section there. Old Info: http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=Generation_9:_Alchemist&diff=291293&oldid=285465
I finished temple knights fully, watched the cutscene with the arrowhead necklace and talked to Andras. It's been a day now and still no quest. I talked to Collen, Andras, and Berch, but they all just talked to me like normal, no mention of the quest whatsoever. Help?
