From Mabinogi World Wiki

Tarlach server; Shadoe is a human character (sometimes male and sometimes female) and I am female irl. I have male and female humans, elves, and giants as well as lots of pets. Leader of Jasper guild, which was formed in December of 2008 by former Sardius members, though I'm the last of them in the guild. Shadoe is currently 4000+ total level (not counting exploration). I also have a human and Giant and a couple of pets on Mari.

I have finally gotten Master level in a combat category for Warrior (close combat/melee). (last updated 10/31/2013)

noting every item I catch is going to get crazy, so to save space I'll just mention some notable ones: caught a black L-rod and black spaika boots. A large portion of the NPC sale money is from the boots. Caught a sunfish. These items would be worth much more when sold to players than when sold to NPC. (I'm not nuts, I notated the NPC value of the boots and kept them to sell.)

Preliminary results suggest that Mondays make a big impact on success rate and that it would take a looong time to fish enough to determine if advanced bait is worth the money it takes to make it. A stack of 300 adv bait could cost anywhere from nothing to 30k to make depending on whether you can gather/make everything yourself and market prices (especially for wood boards). That's up to $100 gold per bait just to break even.

It's very hard to watch for every bite you get, and no way to know how many chests you've caught if you afk for a while and come back. Also, if you fail for a while, some of the "ok" boxes can disappear and I don't have enough inventory to hold everything I catch afk. I may be a bit too adhd for this. I'm going to keep trying for a while, but if I continue to mysteriously lose 6% of my bait due to inattention then this experiment may turn out to be meaningless. I was hoping to compare success with/without adonis, adv bait, adv rod, etc., but that could take months. I may change to just varying the bait or to varying having all of the above versus none of them to keep from going insane.

Sorry, I've completley lost track of what data I was on, and it's getting too monotonous, so I'm quitting the experiment. Again, the day of the week seems to have the biggest impact, then being in a good party. There doesn't seem to be much difference in using the Adonis set or not. There's just too many variables to look at in the long run: Adonis, location, fishing rank, advanced bait, advanced rod, stats/titles, day of the week, etc. Plus the amount of money you can get is turning out to be a useless piece of information since your catches can vary greatly just based on chance and because you can catch things that are basically worthless to NPC's but worth a lot of money to other players (like the Abysmal ES and special colored items). Maybe I'll try this again at another time, but I'll have to start over since my fishing rank has gone up.
