Talk:Generation 23: Tempest

The page currently claims:

"At 30% of their health, Talek will transform into Mutant Talek and regain all his health. Bring his health down to 20% to complete the mission."

Do we have a source for that? Based on my runs, I think the first phrase should refer to Talek's health - Morfyd's health doesn't seem to matter, and I think both numbers should be 20%.

Should be either one of them I think; first time I did it I was gunning down Morfyd and didn't really touch Talek iirc. I'm running another character through g23 to check though.

From my runs so far, Talek's health doesn't matter for the first part, just get Morfy down to 20%. I'm assuming you just need to get either one of them down to 20 to proceed.

For "A Brief Encounter" the wiki currently claims:

"Easiest way is to simply ride a fast pet around in the fog without getting close to either Cethlenn or the Salamanders."

It's not that simple. I was successfully doing that for about 2 minutes, and then it threw me out of the mission because Murielle had apparently died.

I think the advice is misleading. It's trying to tell you to keep the enemy spawns far away enough not to aggro you or Murielle/ to minimize the number that do. If you have to it's easier to obtain the aggro yourself for the most part and just keep running, but Murielle's AI will itself present the problem of engaging in fights.

Their AI seems erratic. I did have that one run where Cethlenn killed Murielle. But on all my other runs over 3 characters, they just ignored each other, even when they ended up standing about 3 metres away from each other.

Currently page says:

"Survive against Manannan and his servants for 5 minutes to trigger a dialogue and clear the mission.

If you get Knocked Unconscious during this fight, you will immediately resurrect with full health."

I don't think we've got the full story here yet. In one attempt at this mission, I died three times and the mission failed on the 3rd death. In my next attempt, I died once, was successfully revived, and the mission completed at the end of the 5 minutes. Unfortunately, in the failed attempt, the third death happened close to the 5 minute mark, so I'm not sure whether the mission fail happens if you die 3 times, or if you happen to be dead at the time the 5 minutes expires. (While the page says "immediately resurrect" it seems to take a few seconds, and I'm not sure if my 5 minutes expired during those few seconds.) The "3 deaths -> fail" theory seems more likely, but I don't want to put in the in the page until we can confirm that.

Unfortunately I can't confirm it myself. My human and giant have already made it through. It was my squishy elf that died three times and needed a 2nd go at the mission to complete it. That's all my characters through now, and I'm finding this generation sufficiently tedious that I don't want to redo it.

I'm not sure if you need to be using Phantasmal Sight to get shards for the barrier activator from the shining spots; I didn't get any while I didn't have it active, but the dialogue didn't change. Can anyone confirm?

You need to use it once during mission. After that it will always be there.

When completing the "Search the Area" part, it seems to me that no matter what order I searched in, I always found the book on the 9th search. Happened for all 3 of my characters. so that's unlikely to be a fluke, but I'd feel more comfortable adding it to the page if someone else can also confirm this guess.

It could be added but even if it isn't everyone will still be able to successfully find the book. Seems to me I found it on the ninth try as well. Probably best to leave it as is so that the wiki isn't 'wrong' if someone finds it on a different try or miscounts.

currently unknown if you need to clear g22, the prereqs in the chapter info only state that you need to be 5k or higher. I'm raising an alt to test this out.

You don't need to clear it.
