Growth time

With 99% on Water, Fertilizer, and Bugs, My pumpkins took about 12 hours to grow 10%. In total, they took slightly less than 5 days to complete the growth, so there probably were a few variables. --Coco 19:44, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Action

Should I reformout this to Actions? -- Ember Incubus (Talk | Contributions )

No, it's not an action. ---Angevon 21:20, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
But acording to it, it says in G10, it is treated as actions. I meant should I leae this page but mention the actions the page Actions-- Ember Incubus (Talk | Contributions )
In my opinion, since there is a more complex system to go with it, it should have its own page. ---Angevon 21:22, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Then should we link to it? On the Actions page? -- Ember Incubus (Talk | Contributions )
Go ahead. ---Angevon 21:27, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Create the actions on the actions page, but leave some links to the farming page. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 21:29, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
That's what I am sugesting. -- Ember Incubus (Talk | Contributions )

Just wondering. Now that actions are in. do the points for the corrosponding action increase instantly or do we still have the wait time of 20,30,40min?--Teoh 22:30, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

The points still appear after the 20/30/40 minutes. It doesn't really matter if you get the points before or after since you won't be able to use another action during the cooldown anyways. --Dias 14:43, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Day?

The basic info says, "You can only water/fertilize/etc your farm ten times a day." Does the "day" mean Erinn time or real time? Or you don't know that yet? :P --Caellian 12:44, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Real time. You can only do 1 action after 1 hour or more in real time, and you can not do more then 10 actions in 1 real day. --[diamondclear|diamondclear]

Does that 10 actions affect players sharing the field? Because I think the more players participates, the more effective it has to be.--Dra6o0n 04:38, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
1 hour or more is incorrect. I can water my crops (pumpkins) every 20 minutes, fertilize them every 30 minutes, and remove bugs every 40 minutes. It may be worth noting (in case there's something to your theory) that everyone has rented a plot on my "field" (6 plots) --Azz 07:03, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
What Azz said is correct. Also, you can check how much time is left by clicking on an action. However, if you finish as you click, you'll end up doing a new action based on what you clicked to check, so if you are checking, click something you plan to do anyways. --Sinnoaria
A day resets at Midnight server time. --Sinnoaria

Profit?

Does anyone know about how much profit is made? and the range of profit that can be gotten out of each crop?--Lighthalzen 06:05, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

From KR Mabinogi Times's data

Name Base Purchase Price Base number of Crops(100%)
Strawberry 3000 140
Pumpkin 9000 40
Tomato 4000 60
Eggplant 4000 70
Cabbage 4000 80

Note : Purchase Price is changed by users selling crops.

Example) If Many users sell Strawberry, Strawberry's Purchase Price is decreased and Other Crops Purchase Price is increased. Purchase Price is reset at Maintenance. --Juff 00:09, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

If someone bought a lot of seeds for cheap, is it possible to save them until you decided to grow them when you think the profit margin rises?--Dra6o0n 04:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Why would you do that? Seeds are always 500g each. --Yuuka 20:01, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Just to add to the discussion - My friend tells me that pumpkins have almost reached 9100 gold per crop - which is above the maximum in the graph. Any idea as to why? --Tigrr 12 April 2010, at 20:50 (UTC)

It is sort of like the Supply and Demand module. When there isn't much being sold/the other crops are selling well, the price will go up and vice versa. --Sinnoaria 00:33, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
It's past the Base value, not the max value

How to farm?

Just out of curiosity how exactly do you farm because mabinogi farm recently just came out and i have no clue how to use it - LawLies

I also have a question: by 2 days before the crops expire does it mean two days since you START growing or 2 days since they were able to be harvested? --XxxTarlachxxx 19:16, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

LawLies, read the Farming page. XD Tarlach, 2 days after they are able to be harvested, I believe. And when you want to ask a question in a discussion page, make another section, don't ask your question under someone else's question :x --Rainney 10:39, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Thankyou LOL but i have finally figured out how to farm because of the help of other players, i edited it abit so it is less confusing for other players(i hope)
I may be mistaken, but I believe it means 2 days after they are harvested, as if your lease expires, they are automatically harvested and mailed to your inbox. They would then rot in 2 days if not sold to the Farm Manager. At least, that is my take on the situation, but I could be wrong. --Rusty 18:59, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Now I'm confused as well.. clearing this up would be much appreciated. D: --Rainney 11:33, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Going off of how other food items in-game don't expire, I'm going to assume (until tested, of which I will do with my farm) that the harvested food doesn't rot. Being that I live in Florida and am surrounded by farms (one right behind my house.... good strawberries, too >.> ), I know that if you leave a crop in the field for too long after it ripens, it becomes too ripe and begins to decompose. For now, until the first week of farms are done and we have evidence, it is safer to assume that the plants will rot if not picked from the field after they are ripe within 2 days. --Haven923 16:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, I harvested mine today and it turns out it's after you harvest them. They get an expiration date of two days on the item description. -- 11:21, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I harvested mine and noticed that, too. Turns out the food items do have an expiration.... --Haven923 22:22, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Logging Out/Changing channels affects farming?

Just questioning again ... does logging out or changing channels cancel out the action? - LawLies

No, it doesn't. The action will continue progressing. --Piamette 10:23, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Not in my experience. If the animation is still going when I log out, the action is not credited when I come back. Urhixidur 22:03, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
If you logout during animation, the action has not been fully completed. You will still be allowed to use an action without cooldown. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 22:06, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Time to Harvest?

I'm harvesting pumpkin at 100%, and the time takes 5 hours. I'm just wondering if it is the same for every crop (I would assume), or if it is based on % of Growth Level (you could assume if you have less crops (75%), it would take less time to harvest, but I don't really know). My friend told me her cabbage are taking 5 hours to harvest in total, and I assume she went for 100%. --Rusty 03:34, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

pretty sure it's fixed 5 hours Saiyr 05:22, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

I don't remember exactly, but I'm fairly certain my tomatoes were 5 hours.... --Haven923 06:36, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
What happens if we are manually harvesting and our lease expires? Does it complete manual harvest, become automatic harvest, or split it between the two? In other words, if I have 5 hours left on my lease and my crops aren't 100%, is it better to wait till they are more mature or to start harvesting manually?--~Shadoe 07:56, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I harvested my strawberries 2 hours before my lease expired at 99% growth. I obtained 133 strawberries from my harvest. From what I see, either: as long you pressed the harvest button you will not be penalized from your lease expiring before you finish harvest, or the penalty is really small. --Dias 14:40, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Pumpkin, 38 or 40?

I changed the information in the article to 38, as this is what I got at 100%. I don't know if there are any hidden factors that jipped me of 2 pumpkin, so I'm going to assume 38 is the correct amount. If there is some odd factor and someone else has gotten more pumpkin, please let us know here. --Rusty 09:27, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Well I think the reason is because you didnt harvest the pumpkins yourself? according to what I read, you get less crops when you wait for them to mail to it you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dantena13 (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments with the Signature.png button or by typing ~~~~!
If you wait for him to mail it to you, you get less than the number you originally plant. It's better to harvest them personally. That and 40 is the -base-. --Miyuna 14:59, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I did harvest the crops myself. Granted, I don't think I was online exactly when the harvest finished, but I don't believe that would matter, but who knows. The article mentions that if you do not harvest, and your lease runs out, they will be mailed to your inbox. The article also mentions they will be mailed to your inbox when harvest completes, so whether you harvest, or let your lease expire, they will always be mailed to your inbox, I assume. So far, I'm still thinking the correct number is 38, unless of course the values are ranges, such as 35~45 or something at 100%. --Rusty 23:00, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
her real point was that "base" does not mean max or min but some number in between. an approximation, i suppose. point being you're misinformed (base is a misleading term, but i can't think of a better one) Saiyr 01:53, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
How about mean? median or just average :) all those are better used words... Base tends to come off as minimum amount.. Or maybe that is just me having had an Advertisement course in college. --Vehementi
So to make it easier to understand, 40 is the average crop yield at 100% for pumpkins if manually harvest. I suppose that means we can assume there is a slight range, such as 38~42 or something? On another, note, my friend said she harvest 39 pumpkins, so I now know that there is some sort of range, and I now understand what Miyuna meant by '-base-' from what Saiyr explained to me. Thanks for the information guys. --Rusty 02:43, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
I've done pumpkins twice and got 40 when harvested at 99%, so I don't know what the original person did wrong. But in case anyone else feels the "need" to edit the amount because you didn't get the maximum, please do not. Enough people have done the farms already that if there was any substantial deviation it would have been noticed. KisaiTenshi 08:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
have done eggplants twice harvested once at 99% and got 67 and once at 100% and got 69. -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 07:52, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

All levels to max for all crops?

I just wondered. Will I want to get all 3 levels to maximum for every single crop? The description for strawberries says I need "just the right amount of water and nourishment". I'm wondering if growing strawberries means I'm supposed to hold my levels within a tight range or something. For that matter, if strawberries have such a caveat, what about the other crops? Thundercross 12:12, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Well, going by whats said, Pumpkins need nourishment, which possibly means focus more on Fertilizer? Likewise with Eggplant, saying it needs Adequate Water. But this is just what it is going by in description. Best to leave it unconfirmed at the moment. --DarkWyvern 21:08, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Presumably, all 3 levels at maximum for all crops give the best growth? I've tried strawberries so far and had them at near max crop status for all 3 levels and the growth level were significantly faster than lower crop statuses. I'm going to test the rest of the crops. SoraHikari 01:43, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Two possibility that was pointed out to me were:

  • The description might be referring to what gives the most gain for the % . So like cabbage would get more boost from a high water percent than a high fertilization percent.
  • The description might be referring to what goes down faster since the %s do go down over time, it may be that it is referring to certain things going down at a faster speed.

--Sinnoaria 01:06, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

a thought I had was that perhaps on some plants the gain-per-action is less than others, for instance the number gain on eggplants that require more water is less on water. However, I think, based on observation, that maybe your first possibility is more correct, since the bars seem to go down consistently for my eggplants, despite it 'needing more water'. -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 17:03, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Food?

After I finished harvesting strawberries, (a few days ago) and placed them in my inventory; I right clicked them and there was a use button. Can you actually eat these to refill hunger? SoraHikari 20:50, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Decided to try it just now, since there was no reply to this. I made sure to divide my cabbages first and solely eat one, and yes, you can eat your produce. My hunger went from 50% to 57%, on an alt newbie character. Someone owes me 4k for that cabbage. No, not really. --Rusty 18:17, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

I can't believe I didn't try to do that before. Too bad it doesn't stay that way afterward. Anyways, thanks :). -- Dias 14:11, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
ah haha, *feels enlightened* -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 15:54, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Manual Harvesting

I've been wondering for awhile now, how exactly do you manually harvest your crops? O.o I don't think bare hands work... SoraHikari 01:25, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

The harvest button on the sign after your crop growth hits 75% is the manual harvest. The "automatic" harvest occurs if your lease expires before you press that button. Saiyr 02:07, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
useful detail, adding to the article. -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 02:38, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Not Harvesting at 100%

Does your crop ever rot on the field? As in, if the crop is at 100%, but you don't harvest for two days, will it ever decrease in amt? -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 23:23, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Wondering if this is true, I've got tomatoes almost at 100%, and it's only day 3 of the lease.--Dra6o0n 04:31, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Crop information

The information is vague. So I'll just put the info, someone can summarize

All crops begin with 40 H20, 30 FERT, and 80 BUG H2O is 20 minutes, FERT is 30 minutes and BUG is 40 minutes Watering adds 5 H20. Fertilizing adds 7 FERT. Removing bugs adds 11 BUG.

Pumpkin: H20 decreases by about 0.37 per hour FERT decreases by about 0.54 per hour BUG decreases by about 0.42 per hour

Strawberries: H20 decreases by about 0.51 per hour FERT decreases by about 0.76 per hour BUG decreases by about 0.41 per hour

Tomatoes: H20 decreases by about 0.19 per hour FERT decreases by about 0.3 per hour BUG decreases by about 0.39 per hour (Haven't grown eggplant and cabbages yet, and too busy with the event to care atm) Then there is this:

For pumpkin and eggplant, it's .99% per hour. For strawberry, it's 1.04% per hour. For cabbage, it's 1.11% per hour. For tomato, it's 1.37% per hour. http://nyo.110mb.com/mabicropadv.htm

--Hopedestiny 14:45, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Other Use(ful)(less) Information

Current price in Tarlach of eggplants are slightly under 7k. They'll probably go over because no one's growing them right now. I'm guessing, but im not sure, that prices will max at 2~2.5x their original base value? --Vi3tkid277 19:43, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Wondering

  • Since the "produce" grown are edible, should we even consider making a new page listing their hunger fill?
  • Also, is it even possible to cook using the grown produce? SoraHikari 14:19, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Crop guides, yes or no?

I had a thought of maybe compiling a guide to get the crops to a garunteed 100% harvest before a lease expires for each different kind of crop. maybe with progress photos for each plant. They'll probably need individual pages though. This would be helpful for new people who aren't sure what to do with farming. Opinions? Miyani 06:28, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I think the pictures are useful but I don't think a guide is needed. The crop advisor linked above by Hopedestiny is all anyone needs. --- Angevon (Talk) 13:48, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Crop time till action

Does anyone notice when the timer comes down to a few seconds, when you try to press the farming action button (ex. watering) and it says for ex. if there are 10 seconds left, the message that appears is "You can't preform Watering right now. Please try again in 10 min." when it should be "You can't preform Watering right now. Please try again in 10 sec." SoraHikari 12:05, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

-Yeah, I've noticed that too. Edetha 00:46, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Weather?

Does anyone know if weather effects the watering action at all? What about the rain casting skill? Edetha 16:50, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

From what noticed Rain storm (100% rain) it started right after i planted new seeds (tomato) and now the rain has stopped just now nothing has changed, more testing is needed though Zinfandel 08:17, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
The rain casting page says it helps grow crops- I'll look into it and do some testing in a while. IHarryl 08:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Lightning started just after I planted strawberries and I had also just fertilized but it didn't add yet. The lightning lasted nearly 30 minutes and then I fertilized again. According to the crop calculator the growth for the half hour without lightning was 0.34% and at the end of the hour I had 0.34% while at the beginning of the hour I had 0.30% growth. So the lightning must add at least 0.04% maybe 0.05% per hour. QuazarGuy 22:17, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Timing Translation Error

when the timer between actions get past 1min and 0 sec, the game will say wait 59min, and so on it doesn't affect the game but just letting people know Zinfandel 08:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Farming Action's respective meter increase

I believe the action increases the meter at a fixed rate, it is not random (since over time the meters will decrease a certain amount over time) Water=5 Fert=7 Bug=11 as stated by Hopedestiny seems correct, can anyone confirm this as well before I change some of the words about the actions giving a random amount to its respective meter? SoraHikari 03:47, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Within the last year or so the Farm Advisor appears to have gone offline. I don't know if anyone has an alternative, but it would probably do to either remove the link or rehost the advisor if anyone knows how it was coded?

Even easier solution: the internet archive has a copy of the old page; I just changed the link to direct to it instead of the dead one.

Infodude575 (talk)19:22, 28 August 2012

They don't actually contribute towards the article, more of a spacefiller, which is no good.

We don't need so many quotes on one article.

Well it is nice for the NPCs to have their own explanations, but that's just me...

Infodude575 (talk)08:40, 30 August 2012

I don't really see why that's necessary if we have our own instructions on how to farm. The quotes section on farming takes up roughly half of my half height browser, which is still a lot, and I'm pretty sure all of them are redundant. I think the first one is okay because it's not an explanation as much as a quaint quote, but I seriously dislike how much whitespace it makes under the picture it's next to.

Also in general, I think the bold italics style is not very good.

Stacking Crops

Can crops be stacked? As in, say you farm with one character and an alt (from another account) and you both harvest pumpkins around the same time. Can they be stacked or will it be counted as two different yields? Just wondering so I can try and get the Country Living Journal Achievement.

Code 200813:09, 4 April 2011

If you mail them to the main character then yes they can stack. I'm not sure if the limit is different on them all, but pumpkins stack to 100.

Further more, the expiry times average out when you stack them together. (I frequently do this with my 11 or so alts) ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:04:05:05:43 (Tuesday)

Alrighty, thanks. I just wanted to be sure so I know I wasn't wasting my time to try and get the achievement this way.

There was no cap listed on the page. It only said >7000 meaning greater than 7000 since 7000 was the highest any player that edited the wiki has seen. Noone knows the real cap ~小太郎 TALKCONTRIBS 2011:02:07:21:32 (Monday)

Regarding total crop yield

Say i got a crop at 100% growth and i was about to manually harvest it. 1: Would the current stats at the time of harvest effect total crop yield? (e.g. Would 100/100/100 give more than 99/88/79 (h20/fert/bug, respectively)) 2: Do the stats still go down during manual harvest & affect the amount of crops gained?--§ýkÌ☼ 22:09, 9 December 2010 (PST)

§ýkÌ☼22:09, 9 December 2010

As far as I've seen as long as you're really close you get between 95% and 100% of your full yield. I think you have to have them all above 90 for that though.

Tellos22:12, 9 December 2010

AFAIK the stats at time of harvest have no effect on harvest yield. I've harvested at 100% growth numerous times with the parameters at different values and tend to get a number roughly around the "full yield". Sometimes it's a bit more, sometimes it's a bit less.--Mystickskye 02:30, 10 December 2010 (PST)
