Vanalen Formal Wear

Vanalen Formal Wear

Uh, for the pictures you recently added, can I request you to quickly retake the pictures in PNG format? If you didn't know how, see here. Thanks.

umm, well im kinda new still to this and usually when i try to replace a picture that is already jpg with a png it says it doesnt match MIME type, so i just used jpg...im not really sure how to change ^^; if i could get help that would be nice..

Seecret01:08, 14 December 2011

That's 'cause you're trying to replace a JPG designated page with a PNG picture. To upload a PNG picture, just change the destination filename from ending with .jpg to .png, while uploading the PNG picture.

Akira01:38, 14 December 2011

alright i will try that ^^ ty

Seecret01:46, 14 December 2011

um...it doesnt allow me to ^^; i click it and i cant type in it..

Seecret01:50, 14 December 2011

Ah, really? In that case, just go straight to the left column, and at the lowest bit of the sidebar, there's a box called "Toolbox". In that there should be a link called "Upload file", upload your image there, and name the file exactly as you did with the jpg file, minus the extension, plus the .png.

Akira01:56, 14 December 2011

ok ty let me try that ^^;

Seecret01:58, 14 December 2011

Okay i tried uploading it and i'm actually getting really frustrated to the point i'm crying because I want to get this right and fix my mistakes. I uploaded a .png picture and i went back to the vanalen upload page but how does that change anything...it still asks me to pick a picture and it says i can't because of the mime type...

In such cases, just change jpg to png in the url.

Ok NOW it just replaces the image that Akira told me to upload to the wiki.

Seecret02:21, 14 December 2011

Sorry for the frustration. Most of the time (that I see, anyways) it takes a while for the new image to load, unless the name is re-defined, which you don't actually need to do. Just upload the image, and if that's a success, you've done your part. ^^

Akira02:35, 14 December 2011

Well, I guess since Pyro fixed my problem, I will put his elf and giant union picture to a use if he allows me to put it on my wiki page I can make it say "This user wishes that elves and giants could communicate in peace" thanks for all the help both of you.

Uhh... I meant for that icon to be used in a wiki article. In G15S2 they release the Erinn Tournament, it's basically a series of Theatre Missions where you fight NPCs. One of the missions you fight the citizens of Vales and Filia. They are labeled the Elf and Giant Union and that's the icon it uses. (Every other town uses their town's crest, but for some reason Connous and Physis are united so I assumed it'll be mentioned again later.)

Pyro - (Talk)03:55, 14 December 2011

^Mmkay, that's kinda weird. Why would the Milletian be fighting citizens?

Uh Seecret, I realize I bothered you to no end with this but...the back, angled and side views are kinda missing. ^^' Not to worry though, to save trouble I have the links for you:

[[1]] <---for back view

[[2]] <---for side view

[[3]] <---for angled view

Also, there were two reasons that your picture failed to show up: one, the article itself was calling for jpg pictures. It doesn't instantly know when a png version is uploaded. I'll make the change once the other three pictures have been loaded. Or maybe someone else will make the change.

Two: The naming scheme was off. Again, this site doesn't instantly know what file it's supposed to be named, so one had to manually change the name by themself when uploading with the toolbox option. I'm guessing that your file is originally named "Vanalen Formal Male Front" on your computer, right? Because that was the file's name, the wiki named the picture exactly the same.

...And, erm, one last thing. (Sorry!) You have originally saved the pictures as PNGs, right? Because JPGs-turned-PNGs apparently aren't up to scratch. I can't tell the difference, myself, but others can.

It's a tournament, a contest, etc. For a far from complete page about it go here.
