How would you make a document photo appear on your User Page. Im still a novice, sorry.

for the thumb part, just put "thumb" without quotations. making it a thumb will let the random text appear at the bottom. Without thumb, you can just have the text appear when you mouse over it. "#px" makes anything within that size provided it is small than the width I think.
Examples:
[[File:Meteor Strike.png]]becomes
[[File:Meteor Strike.png|thumb|Meteor Strike]]becomes
