GMT is wrong
GMT is still gmt after daylight savings. For UK time it become BST (British summer time) but gmt is still 1 hr behind BST. You confuse me by applying daylight savings to all 3 values but calling the GMT one GMT instead of BST.
GMT, EST, and PST.
Maybe there's another line we can add to GMT so if daylightsavings=y, it becomes BST.
Sorry, not very familiar with time zones outside of those in the US. I'd fix it, but I protected it from myself.
What I meant is I have no idea where these timezones are being used. Also EST/PST become EDT/PDT as well, and yay DST shift times are different across regions.
I am really miscommunicating or having a stroke or something. Where on the wiki are these times shown?
Ah, this is Template:times. I can certainly add the simple BST change if that's what you want, but it still won't be 100% accurate:
BST begins at 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday of March and ends at 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday of October.
In the northern parts of the time zone, during the second Sunday in March, at 2:00 a.m. EST, clocks are advanced to 3:00 a.m. EDT leaving a one hour "gap." During the first Sunday in November, at 2:00 a.m. EDT, clocks are moved back to 1:00 a.m. EST, thus "duplicating" one hour. Southern parts of the zone (Panama and the Caribbean) do not observe daylight-saving time.
TL;DR: time zones suck. I don't think it will be easy to find a good solution. Let me know if you just want the simple one or feel free to brainstorm another.
Okay then leave it as GMT and don't let daylight savings change the time so it is always set to GMT?
That's actually non-trivial as well, because the time is specified in Pacific, and the offsets aren't constant relative to American DST shifts.
Can you use a similar script to the shadow mission script to see when DST shifts are and if they need to be applied?
I'm actually not sure what I was talking about yesterday. Time is confusing. Perhaps it isn't non-trivial. Should just be +8 if !isDST and +7 if isDST.
