Damage by Skill?

Damage by Skill?

So according to what I'm reading, every single skill affects Shadow Spirit?

That would mean if Shakespeare has this, he'd be OMGWDFBBQHAX OP?

I have several hundreds skill ranks. All my demigod skills do fairly ridiculous amounts of damage.

I one shot Glas with spear of light critical.

I also blew off another player's rA Wings of Eclipse and about 200 mana from MS in a 5% duel.

My Shadow spirit lasts for over a minute and can pretty easily halve HM or Elite boss HP over its duration

My Fury of Light can wipe an entire elite spawn.

All demigod skills have some way of vastly multiplying the player's power based on their damage, levels, skills, and stats.

So wait, you have 500 skills? o:

I'm not sure what my total skill ranks are, but it is probably in the 400-500 area.

Quite a few problems with that.

  1. Like Anemki pointed out, there aren't several hundred skills.
  2. Spear of light doesn't do extra damage if you crit.
  3. Unless you're going up against a giant with nearly 0 int and rF MS and already blasted the crap out of exlipse beforehand, you're not going to deal anything over 80.
  4. Fury of light already ignores defense, so it's to be expected that elite mos can be killed easily for the most part.

Yinato, you're just looking for trouble. I will no longer replay to your posts if they do not contain anything beyond trivial argument.

Each skill has 15 ranks. You're suggesting that it is impossible to obtain over 500 ranks (the equivalent of 33 skills max rank).

EDIT: Also, spear of light CAN crit. I'm getting the impression that you are simply trolling.

Tellos23:16, 24 June 2012

Read the skill page? Yes, it can crit, but does it do any extra damage? Grab an r5 upgraded weapon, spear something countless times, and tell me if you see a dramatic increase in crit damage, or if its still in the same relative ballpark? If anything, you're the one looking for trouble around here. My "trivial arguments" are valid points which pretty much discredit the points that you're making.

Yinato23:22, 24 June 2012

I suggest you re-read the skill page. Spear of God (Brionac version) cannot crit. Spear of Light can. You've probably never used the skill

Also, kudos on trying to use a skill page that I wrote to prove me wrong. You really had me going.

Tellos23:25, 24 June 2012

Wow, you really are full of yourself, aren't you? That example I gave isn't something I pulled out of thin air genius. Let me break it down for you: If you have an r5 upgraded weapon equipped, that means you can't have the brionac equipped (Hence, it's not SoG). Spear something with that r5 weapon equipped, and you won't see that much difference in terms of damage Also, if spamming spear of light enough times in a day to derank it 4 times isn't using a skill, then I don't know what is.

If you're just going to insult me then this discussion is over.

We'll talk again when you appreciate math and testing.

Direct insults versus indirect. Just saying.

It isn't so much that I can't appreciate the two as much as it is me disliking the person preaching about it. That being the case, I guess we won't be talking anytime soon then. Welcome back to the wiki?

Yinato23:57, 24 June 2012

It doesn't matter whether you like me or not. I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to make a reliable, accurate, comprehensive, and user friendly wiki.

If you want to talk to me that's fine, but while I'm on the wikispace I am here to contribute. All I see you doing is griping at me while arguing over pages where I was a major contributor telling me that I'm wrong by misquoting something that I myself wrote.

I will not accept any anecdotal evidence as page-worthy fact. I speak only in math and cold hard numbers while I am here.

Tellos00:00, 25 June 2012

You say you've been gone a year, correct? The first thing you see me post when you get back is probably the initial reply I made, and nothing prior to that. In regards to what you said about griping, fair enough, seeing as you're basing it off a few posts.
Now, the first thing I see you post makes you sound like you're full of yourself and that you're just bragging about your character's skills. See the problem?

Yinato00:08, 25 June 2012

The problem is that you're taking it personally.

Tellos00:10, 25 June 2012

Nope, it's that you're basing it all off a few posts. Oh, and stating my personal opinion/point of view on the matter doesn't necessarily mean I'm taking it personally. There's no point in me taking what you say personally since I don't know you.

Yinato00:47, 25 June 2012

Where did the damage formula come from anyways...?

I saw Professor Cirno's post.
