Talent System
It is a revamp of the Destiny System, so should we put in in the Destiny System page?
Because I figured somebody would just change the name of the page when it became time? I don't know.
It's an evolution of the Destiny System, not a completely new thing.
If talents replaced destinies, then we wouldn't move the destiny page. We'd put the archive template on it and write a note at the top of the page about talents.
Guys, I am SO sorry I haven't been posting more, I've just recently settled in after my move. The Talent system...I can't honestly describe it. It's weird, in MY opinion, it's like they chopped the Destinies into tinier pieces and just made them set for specific skills.
It looks like its a system asside of the destinys... otherwise it would be called destiny revamp or something like that.
It replaces the destiny system. Skills will be split between the 16 different talents. x2 training will only apply to specific skills in those talents. Level up bonuses appear to have been removed. Players will now receive "Talent EXP" when ranking skills covered by that talent. The exp given depends on the skill, its rank, and the player's race. Every time a talent levels up, the player will gain a passive stat boost which increases with the level of the talent. This stat boost is applied on top of the players base stats, meaning it does NOT grants CP. All talents have 15 levels and the stat boosts are applied regardless of the player's chosen talent. Talents will level automatically. Selecting a talent does nothing more than grant x2 training to relevent skills.
Players may opt to become a grand master of a talent, pushing its level to 16 by completing a lengthy quests.
The player may also apply their talent title if they so chose. The title is prefixed according to the player's current level in the talent. For example, a person with lv15 Warrior would be Character_Name the Master Warrior.
Getting level 15 in a talent typically involves completing no less than 90% of the available skill ranks in that specific talent.
Now that I look at it, hopefully the stat boost isn't so stupid like at max talent rank you get only +20 to a stat or two... But if devcats wanted to make players stronger after putting so much effort into talents, maybe a +50 to a stat and +10~20 to various related stats at max talent rank would be better. Then again, what's the point of increasing cap of stats from 999 to 1500 if talents increases it that small lol? Maybe a +100 to a single main stat is possible?
Anyone who got their hands on the G17S2 PTS took a look at the stat gain from talent levels?
And I've been wondering... What is the max possible stats you can get if you were to r1 all of them for skill related stats alone?
Because 999 stat can (currently, and even easier once talents are out) be reached, and surpassed if the cap was raised.
329 str is the max possible perma gain for humans, plus the age and leveling boost to str semi-perma. But the aging and leveling boost is quite low, even if you can get to level 200, you'd only get +100 str. Aging up from age 10 means ~10 extra strength. Using enchants and stuff probably wouldn't boost strength up more than 100 max.
So you hit around 500 str to 600 str max in that range... I don't know what else is needed to push strength to 999 and over other than using transformations. So with the addition of Talent systems, to surpass that means it would give about ~300 strength when maxed? If so means that you will hit the 900s with non-transformation based stats, with the use of talent system.
999 str = 339.6 max damage is added to the character. 1500 str = +600 max damage to the character.
The talent system is no issue, but when other players can stat glitch their way up it turns bad if devcats response to that by nerfing systems.
