Jewel Upgrade help?

Okay, so I've been trying to upgrade my Dustin Sword, I'll get a Star Sapphire that's over 2 C.M. and it still says I have the wrong Gem Type for the Upgrade, for both upgrades. So... Do you need every Gem listed for the upgrade? Or does your upgrade path effect the type of Jewels you need? As on my Dustin upgrade list the Jewel Upgrade names are different than the names listed on the Dustin Silver Knight Sword page.

So, would it be worthwhile to add that to the main page? As I've never heard anything of it before I asked.
