Gale?

Might someone put a description down for that? I have no idea what that means in terms of the skill.--Price 11:17, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

I've always assumed Gale is when you use wind blast against a monster that's very close (melee range) to your character --Bryanneo 14:52, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Then someone ought to mention that in the description. I assumed the further push-back was a form of lag.--Price 17:51, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

This is how i see it, Gale is when you use wind blast extremely close. The more Wind Blast is ranked, the longer range you get to have Wind Blast's Gale happen from a further distance, also ranking it allows Gale to push them back further away as it's ranked up. Anyone else wish to confirm this? --Bryanneo 15:23, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Changed the Details section

Fixed it so it says Wind blast starts to blink after 2 shots and the third shot will give the cooldown. --Bryanneo 15:07, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Always Knocks Back

What about cases where the opponent can never be knocked back? Cases such as using Windguard or Advanced heavy stander. Which one wins? --Whyrainfalls 19:46, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Never is absolute never (for ahs)--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 00:30, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Wind Blast acutally beats Wind Breaker, blowing away the giant user away but i doubt advanced heavy stander is affected. --Bryanneo 14:46, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Final Hit isn't affected by Wind Blast either. --Kendoza 09:27, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Hmm maybe they changed it? --Bryanneo 12:57, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Wind Blast cannot knock down a user in final hit because it has a different status than most knockdown attacks. Most knodown attacks set the knockdown gauge to <100% and force a standard down while doing damage. Wind Blast does a normal hit damage followed by a fling effect which throws the enemy a set distance at high speed. Final hit negates the knockdown timer, and windblast won't cause a knockback if the knockdown timer is stuck at 0 for some reason. Tellos 14:03, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Invalid Info?

The page currently states that Wind Blast's Gale effect is rendered impossible if you use a cylinder other than the Normal no-element or Wind Cylinder. However, I always use a Fire Cylinder and I visually see the Gale effect often. Can someone else confirm that this statement is not true? What I may be seeing could be due to lag, so if someone could confirm, I'd appreciate it. EnigmaticFractal 17:24, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Gale is different from just knocking it back with windblast. It will always knock back with windblast at a further distance, but you won't get any gale distance. Actually, this can be confirm (or denied) if you have a high ranking windblast and you use a fire cylinder and see if you get the training "Blast away a Strong-level enemy", <- that's gale training. If you were able to fulfill that part using a fire cylinder, let me know. --Miyuna 18:22, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I know that Gale is different from just knocking it back. There's a very large difference in the regular knockback, and the Gale knockback. The reason I question the validity of that statement is because I continue to see the kind of knockback distance that is only possible through Gale. EnigmaticFractal 10:06, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
The reason it was added was because a player was trying to train "blast away (gale) a strong-level enemy with an elemental cylinder and try to gale the enemy away (like literally he was up to his face) and no matter how much he tried, he never got the training. When he switched to a normal cylinder and did the same thing, he got the training. So I'm just curious. I can't test this out myself (because I haven't trained wind blast), so I can't say for sure. That's why I ask if you can prove this person wrong, go ahead. ^^; I'm not angry or anything. --Miyuna 14:06, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
Hm. That's strange. I'm holding off on ranking Wind Blast at the moment, so I can't really see if its correct or not at the moment. >< EnigmaticFractal 22:30, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
I have confirmed that you can in fact get gale with another elemental cylinder, I used tidal wave with r1 Wind Blast and got points for blast away a strong opponent. Marith 23:42, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Something i've noticed is that the cylinder used effects the knockback distance. It could be that in order for it to count as "blasting away" an enemy they need to be knocked the maximum distance possible or farther for that rank. Since using a cylinder other than a wind or normal cylinder doesn't knock them as far, even on a gale it wouldn't be the max distance, and thus wouldn't give any training. i haven't had the chance to test it as far as training goes, but i'm certain about the knockback being effected by cylinder type.--(not-so)Anonymous 10:31, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Portia Prefix Title enfeebles Wind Blast

While I have the Portia title on, the skill does not blow away any monsters, no matter what range I am; at point blank range and at maximum range. This does not happen with any other prefix title or when I transform into a Paladin (which overrides equipped titles). I am using a regular cylinder.

That sounds really strange...

I remember seeing a topic on the NX forums about this. Not sure what has become of it.

Addressing the "Always knocks the target back" part.

I've noticed that, when attacking at max range, the skill will hit the target and stun them for a very short period without knocking them back.

my character has Rank f wind blast, and I've noticed this wile using a fire cylinder. wind and alchemy mastery's are both novice rank.

when the target is closer(I'm assuming this is the "gale" range) it successfully knocks the target back.

if anyone wants a video, ask.

Anyone know when this will be uncapped?

I'm looking to use Burgundy Bear enchants on all my armour to toughen it up for tanking, but that depends on R5 Wind Blast. Does anyone know when the skill will be uncapped so I can harvest my sweet, sweet Protection?
