No monsters?
There aren't any monsters on Ch4 in the field, hens, bears, foxes, etc have disappeared from Ch4 outside of dungeons.

"March 27, The HER0 Guild from Alexina is having a guild battle on Sen mag," is this really appropriate for the main page? Wiki Updates...
The stuff that appears in the Wiki Updates section is too lax.
It's supposed to be information and updates about the WIKI; not the Mabinogi NA Server.
I remember reading someone post that somewhere before; and it's sad that there are dozens of users who don't understand that, and throw random information about Mabinogi (server checks? nothing to do with the wiki) into it. The page most likely needs to be protected and limited to admin and whatnot; and probably needs to have some stricter rules applying to it set in place.
I can understand it's a great way for users to acquire information about whats going on in NA Mabinogi; but it's far from it's original purpose.
Perhaps set up a Wiki Update News and a NA Mabinogi Update News; and put the Wiki updates underneath (essentially; replaces the Wiki Updates section on the main page with a Mabinogi Updates section; and the wiki updates section just beneath that).
It would be very informative for all users, and it would retain each update pages purpose fully and wholesomely.
Or, if everyone is really OK with it; you may as well just move it to a page titled Mabinogi/Wiki Updates or something.
Just my thoughts on the matter. --Rusty 09:22, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, I just noticed it says General Mabinogi news , Not Wiki updates, I beleive it is fine Juanmelk 22:55, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Maintenance
Since when does wikiupdates announce server checks? I see no record of this ever. Deleting it until someone tells me why we starting that.--黄恒升 ☞ 评论 ☜ 09:04, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Shop change
Anything that cannot be linked to an article in the wiki does not belong to wikiupdates!!--黄恒升 ☞ 评论 ☜ 09:15, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- However, I did post a rather important item for people to see here, even though the actual statements are not on this server. --Irjustman 22:20, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- I do not mean 'did not put link' though. I mean impossible to link (also used figuratively) to any parts of mabinogi world wiki. Your statements were linked to your username, and mabinogiworld.com is our first link in navigation. Some wiki news can be linked but are not linked, and some cannot be linked and is not related to wiki at all. For example, a nexon mabinogi maintenance cannot be really linked, unless it adds more features. In the recent shop change update info, there is nothing in there that can be linked to mabinogi wiki. Of course, updates that are related to or will change info on the wiki are valid.--黄恒升 ☞ 评论 ☜ 23:11, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
Glitch?
Anyone know about this glitch? I've only just seen it on the wiki, and I don't know anyone who's experienced it. o-o --~Zallist 02:10, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- What is the glitch? There's nothing on NX's site or the forums about it. I don't think its news worthy. Fifty 02:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- I was thinking it sounded fishy. The person who originally put the glitch information up doesn't have a Userpage or anything, which seems strange for someone willing to change the Wiki Home. o-o --~Zallist 02:23, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Foreign Mabi news?
Err since there's information about maintenance now, how about news about foreign servers? I miss the updates on the main site. Fifty 05:47, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Faulty Scripting
I've been able to get six Jasper in the past 45 minutes, whereas my friend has gotten three Star Sapphire and three Jasper. Do I have to relog for this claimed fault to take effect? Also, I've never managed to find chests anywhere besides Pantay Swamp and Cor since G7 came out. Could someone explain? --Aramet (Talk) 02:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- There aren't supposed to be chests there. Empty your hands and click on the statue for up to two artifacts. I'm removing those two statements from the front page as someone doesn't seem to know what he/she's talking about.--Mystickskye 02:55, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- That's what I thought. :) Thank you. --Aramet (Talk) 02:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, that was my fault about the chests. I take full responsibility for that. Also, I should have specified that it was in Mari/Nao server that the Metallurgy script is locked. --redemption2 03:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: Channel Crashing
I know it's fixed now but I'll put this here for future reference. When a standard channel crashes, you can push yourself out of it by changing your password. It'll forcefully log you off the channel in question and when at the character lobby, one chooses another, safer channel. This however, won't work for housing channel crashes.--Mystickskye 05:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
Seriously...
This 'article' seriously needs some more moderation.
Viewing the history, there are quite a lot of silly things being added in here and there; and yes, they are dealt with in time, but it constantly deviates the purpose of this section.
Wikihome/WIKIUPDATES, not Mabinogi News and updates. There's already a section for Mabinogi Server Updates at Wiki Home/ServerUpdates. Perhaps that section should be used more thoroughly, while this section should remain faithful to it's wiki updates.
I notice earlier in this discussion page, Hengsheng asks what happened to the MabiNews section...perhaps that section should be added back, placed above the Wiki Updates section, since it sounds like a more major and more often updated section.
Even IF a MabiNews section is added, I personally think there should be some tighter moderation with the section; I don't think something like announced updates belong in the MabiNews section (How about the Server Updates section?). Then again, it also depends on what people see as 'news'.
This is all just a gripe really; I would organize and arrange everything myself, but I'm not a major member of the wiki "team" here, and I definitely don't want to go changing around major structures without permission from an administrator in line with me. Honestly though, I really don't understand what the Alexina server being offline has to do with Mabinogi Wiki Updates...I really don't. ~Rusty - 12:25, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
- But...
- On the home page, the title thingy says "General Mabinogi News".
- It appears above, like, literally, you have to scroll down to see the ServerUpdates, and is a lot bigger, and for most (maybe all) computers, you can view the most current.....update thingys, right there, without having to scroll down. As in, its more convenient.
- I personally think the ServerUpdates are for like.. the big things, like patches. Not minor little things that dont really affect everyone in a dramatic way. Like, sure, maintenance can get annoying if you're trying to keep a shop open for the night, but its not really a big..biggie. o_o
- Just look at the big picture. And don't get all hyped up about it, we can simply just move this page to a more fitting name, and then problem solved. o-o--♪♫♪♫тιиα♪♫♪♫ταιқ♪♫♪ 23:07, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

General Mabi News Section Updates
Do we need another page specifically for channel/server issues? This section is being overrun with these "updates". It gets to be a mess when Mabinogi's down/lagging. Thoughts? --Jspillers 08:05, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm starting to think that anything about that should be left out entirely, with the exception of announced maintenances/patches (scheduled or unscheduled). All it seems to do is make this section, yeah, a mess. --Duet 17:05, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
- Seeing today's "updates" regarding the crash of Ruari's ch1... and the new accounts created on the wiki to announce it four times, I think it's time to set some rules with this section. I'd go in and edit them out, but there's no clear policy about the section. -- Jspillers | Talk 06:44, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Not sure its supposed to be optional
"* The Web Launch is entirely optional. You can use the Mabinogi.exe launcher and you will be prompted for your login on the login screen."
- I don't think Nexon would appreciate you telling people how to bypass the web launch. --LtGeneral Snow 18:41, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, nexon doesn't have a problem with it, Tibaroo the forum moderator suggested this himself, and i imagine a nexon employee wouldn't speak against the wishes of the company. Miyani 00:12, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to point out one thing, the Bugs with the AI system have happened before, it usually happens after a patch or maintenance, it will eventually be fixed it's just a server side bug, I have experienced it MANY times prior to g9. it's just taking a bit longer to fix this time. Miyani 14:45, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
3/11/10 Crashings
It's not necessarily due to mods. Many mod-less people are crashing as well. My hypothesis is either that there are too much Dungeons being completed or because that there are too much Good Luck Potions around.--BIassreiter 04:21, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- please define "crash". How are you crashing? What do you get when you crash? I can tell you the causes by the way you crashed.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 04:41, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- too many dungeons/potions around would only cause server lag/crash your client wouldn't be affected by dungeons you have nothing to do with.--Sozen Cratos Focker 09:01, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
I can verify that modless people are crashing ALOT after the new patch, i havn't used mods in about 3 months and have reinstalled my client since, so i am crashing on a completely clean client. The client will just completely close out, and an error message will pop up saying that the info was copied to your clipboard and to report it, then it'll open the nexon website and ask you to log in. or something along those lines, and if this happens on my laptop the entire computer crashes with it.
It also, is not isolated to rabbie (i've crashed in fiodh and albey red gem, which has NEVER happened before this patch in any place), It can also happen when changing maps or channels. it's simply an error with the new patch, too many people that don't mod are having this happen for it to be tossed off as faulty mod packs. Miyani 23:58, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- I can confirm (I haven't experienced it personally, but have been in dungeons where other people have been dropped) that it is happening to people without mods. However the stack traces posted on the forums so far suggest it has something to do with the player characters (of which the only thing recently changed is the name color.) It could simply be that the reason I'm not crashing, but others are, is that their systems (video card?) have less memory. It might just be a memory leak, and those with less memory are crashing the most frequently. I'll see if I can get people to post their system specs on the nexon forums. KisaiTenshi 13:00, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm gonna have to disgree with the memory not being good enough, my friend has what can only be defined as a super computer, that has top of the line everything in it and is still receiving crashes, and while my computer isn't as good, it's by new means unqualified to run a game like Mabinogi. If peoples systems weren't good enough wouldn't this have been happening before? but a memory leak is definitely possible. Miyani 18:23, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, it's clearly a bug related to having used the name pot (if the crashdump contains renderer2.dll) I didn't have this problem at all until I used the name pot, now it crashes a lot. (no mods) KisaiTenshi 08:13, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
- Here's the rundown with the dll changes.
The quasi-legitimate way to work-around the problem:
Download the r56 to 57 patch from nexon:
ftp://patch.nexon.net/game/57/56_to_57.0
ftp://patch.nexon.net/game/57/56_to_57.1
Wherever you download the files to, then go to the command line and go
copy /B 56_to_57.0+56_to_57.1 56_to_57.zip
Then open 56_to_57.zip with anything and extract the pleione.dll and renderer2.dll to your mabinogi directory.
This will solve the crashing problem by rolling back to before the blacklist feature. The name pot effects will still be present. However this will break the weblogin, so you must run mabinogi.exe directly.
I won't update the front page, however acquiring the dll files directly from nexon removes the possibility of the files having being tampered with, from people offering "dll downloads." KisaiTenshi 11:43, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- You can check any's dll's modification date (there's only one date and time) and their CRC32 checksum. They all should match. DLLs cannot run themselves, so there's no need to worry about downloading and then checking. And no, it does not break web launch if you replace all the files (in my first version download) instead of just the renderer2 and pleione. That said i'm changing it back since you mentioned that it breaks web launch.--Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS 12:35, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

No word from Nexon...
I have noticed several times, the updater adds "No word from Nexon" after the notification. This appeals to me as a whine from the updater, is it really necessary? Especially on the 2 instances in July 7th 2010, the giant issue and the fact people were losing items after server crashes were both labeled with "No word form Nexon." However, the giant glitches were addressed by Nexon on the forums, and the loss of items has been constantly addressed by filing a ticket.--Sampapa 22:39, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Nexon has hinted that G11 will come out soon
This news item needs some sort of citation... --Acru 18:40, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Well for one I don't mod. Im also seeing these complaints from lots of different people on the forums. Second there are lots of such complaints all over the Nexon forums. I would think a warning that you could lose your dungeon journal entry before you spend money on an unlimited dungeon pass would be in order -Tsunari
- Well, from what I see, only those with outdated XMLs from modding are getting this problem. As soon as they update their mods, the problem seems to go away. (Actually, I also removed your "Crashes when selecting character" bug, but that one is correct Xp) ~◕Д◕ TALKCONTRIBS 01:56, 24 October 2010 (PDT)
- Well not everyone mods and I personally have only seen the crashing and disappearing dungeon entries. How do you know its only because of modding that such errors occur? Especially with journal entries, those have to be stored on the Nexon servers and not on the players computer. - Tsunari
- Ever seen /data/db/achivementtable.xml? The G12 update changed that to include all the dungeon achivments. If you have the pre-G12 one, none of them show up. ~◕Д◕ TALKCONTRIBS 02:10, 24 October 2010 (PDT)
- Actually .xml files dont even exist in default installs, its all in .pack files. They do show up then randomly cease to exist later on. -Tsunari
- Well, I don't know. Maybe Nexon failed their own packages and all the modders "fixed" themselves Xp ~◕Д◕ TALKCONTRIBS 02:27, 24 October 2010 (PDT)
- It's possible the patching didnt go quite right, it was a massive patch for the g12 release and the fix was relatively small. Im downloading the client fresh, so I can uninstall and reinstall. However, I do try to not base it on my experience only, the official Mabinogi forums has a lot of such things in it.
