i really dont think you should add speculation to a database like this one... its in really bad taste, and the majority of us really hope its NOT an afk event

1. This wiki is not a "database".
2. This information is not speculation.
3. Too bad, it's an afk event. Deal with it. Don't vandalize the wiki just because you don't like it.

You know we CAN get descriptions of items before the event for them are out, I don't see any justification in you calling this speculation unless you didn't know that.

call it vandalism if you want, if you give nexon a valid reason to bring on a lawsuit by releasing information which you cannot legitimately obtain in game yet, youre asking for trouble, and i would rather keep the wiki online

Now let's get back to talking about this.

• First, they would request C&D. I guess you can call this, that.
  • They have made their request. I have fulfilled their request (removal of "IDs [for whatever retarded reasoning], unnecessary tags, and other things we aren't using").
• Second, even if they were to go for a C&D, would they really bother with a wiki first? There are assloads of sites that would be way more beneficial to take down first, e.g. modding sites.
  • They haven't.
• Third, Nexon doesn't really care. Have you looked at Maplestory? Have you noticed the plethora of database/modding/hacking sites there are for Maplestory? Do you know how many have been taken down because of "data-mining"? As far as I know, 0.
  • We've been data mining information before, during, and after their little scare. They. don't. really. care.
• Fourth, "No posting of 'data-mined' information" was only a rule in the Mabinogi Forums. That rule, as far as I know, does not apply here and there is nothing in the policy (not that any of you have been reading it. "NO VANDALISM" is in there also; you don't see that not happening) that forbids it.
• Fifth, they have better things to do, like fixing the entire damn game.

yeah, they dont fix all that many things there either, most likely their plate is full in that department, but they are a highly segmented company, the billing department people cant do anything but forward requests if you try to get help with tech issues, and visa versa

yeah, i took it too far, and i apologise, maybe you can get a link for editors somewhere that has a list of tags and when to use them. talked to another editor, and now i know to use the

My opinion here is that trivial things like soon-to-be-released event items aren't important enough to mine, and to save the less than legal stuff for things far too difficult to find in-game, like 5 star food stats, hidden shield bonuses, and weapons, etc.

Joking aside, What's going on now? I mean yeah, people on the wiki but it's inevitable for all wikis (at some point) to data mine into the game to gather information, like gathering numbers and such. I'm sure every wiki at some point has done that...hell there's a whole wiki called The Cutting Room Floor that dedicates itself into for lost content and crap like that. I'm sure Mabinogi has some...deep dark secrets that have yet to be be revealed...

btw, remember that FMA stuff? One of the giant spies have Olivier Mira Armstrong's gloves. Does that mean we'll get it? no because Nexon NA didn't get the rights to distribute that content, but we can keep dreaming 8D

But when Nexon has requested us to not mine, then any we actually do has to fly under their radar, so I think we shouldn't give them any reason to be suspicious by only when it's absolutely necessary. Event Items are not.

Event items are just meh...never really cared for this event e-e since well...*looks at sand piles slowly growing* yeah...and well course it's gotta fly under the radar. What else are you ers gonna do?

biggest problem i have with this page is that it was created, and then FLAUNTED on a thread on mabinogi chat boards... It is not our responsibility in regards to whatever the hell the idiots on the Nexon forums do.

They'll trace it back to us, for enabling posting of mined stuff on the wiki. Companies such as Nexon are never very fair or intelligent about things such as these. I'm still standing by for a private tag, so we can make these pages, but all outsiders will see is a page about a weapon that appeared strangely quickly, but after it was released.

You know...I briefly saw the announcement before they took it down and put it back up. at the time, I was sleepy, so I didn't post the info on the article.

in many sites there are such ways, and most are less advanced than a wiki, but slightly more advanced than a forum.
