So how does ^ work against Mineral Hail? How much damage do you take, if any, and how much EXP is lost?

When the skill is used against Mineral Hail, it defends against it like Shield of Trust does but without causing the stun. Difference being that 1 damage (from Rank 1 of Shield of Trust) is cancelled out, thus receiving 0 HP damage, and instead takes the efficiency ratio of Wings of Eclipse.

Taking rank 1 Wings of Eclipse (18.88 ratio) on Hard difficulty Mineral Hail (105% of HP) on a person with 600 HP, Mineral Hail will do 630 damage normally. 630 / 18.88 = 33.37; That's the amount of EXP you'll lose on Wings of Eclipse for using it to defend that Mineral Hail.

I've noticed that sometimes, my character will ping (due to shield mastery I suppose) and this will cause Mineral Hail to deal half of its usual damage, even if I wasn't protected by Shield of Trust.

I know that "ping"ing by using Defense with a shield equipped won't affect the damage at all, but I've noticed taht if I ping naturally (just via the Auto-Defense granted via shield mastery happening to activate) on Mineral Hail, the damage will be reduced by half.

Has anyone else noticed this? It's seems to happen kind of often if you're equipped with a Shield and Heavy Armor at the same time, or if you're using special clothing with passive Auto-Defense against magic attacks.

What color do you ping when it happens naturally?

Blue.

I think... That Mineral Hail sure kicks up a lot of dust.

IIRC Auto Defense doesn't reduce damage; Passive Defense does that.

Speaking of which, might Transformation Mana Deflector reduce damage?

So it seems like only Shield/Armor Mastery's passive pinging lowers the damage of Mineral Hail.

Neither defending with a shield or using Transformation reduce the damage of it.
