The description says it increases magic defense? Is that a lie or indirectly referring to the mana tweaks?

I don't see an improvement in magic defense. So, I'd say you're correct in that it's referring to the special effects.

It's directly referring to magic (period)...and it also increases physical defense. It's perfectly correct English to say it the way its written as well. You don't seem to understand this - hence why you wanted to add the trivia. I'm with kevin though, it doesn't say anything about magic defense at all so it's pointless to have that.

If it were to increase magic defense (sorry was thinking of magic protect earlier), in the sentence it would say "magical and physical defense". This is correct English, the other way you're thinking is not.

So basically what you're saying is that it repeats itself?

I'm sorry, but English isn't my best subject, so I'm under the impression that it affects both Defense and Magic Defense stats. Plus the second time the word "magic" is used its right next to "defense." Also, I might be wrong, but I don't think Nexon is always grammarly correct.

Also, FYI Magic Protection is lumped in with "Protection" I think, it just gets separated in Druid.

Yes, it sort of repeats itself. I'm just saying that the description is written like a normal sentence and when read that way, it certainly doesn't seem to mean "magic defense". If you want to really get technical I'm sure you realize there is no "physical defense" stat either. There never will be that kind of stat from what I recall - it'll always just be "defense".

And yeah, the protection stat reduces magic damage...but it will not later. Later "protection" will only be for physical attacks (though they don't bother to change the name to physical protection).

*Shrug* I'm always a bit skeptical about how Nexon words things. For example, during The Saga's NPC Commentary, there was a small typo in there that caused a huge plot hole.

It doesn't really repeat itself; "helps channel" and "provides benefits to" are related, but not the same thing. If it were referring to magic defense, it would not say "benefits to"; adding those two words makes the statement too broad to refer to a single stat, and magic def is the opposite of a benefit to magic.

The first line of the description is just filler/flavor text. The second line says 2 things; 1:It provides benefits to magic, 2:It provides physical defense.

Next time you have trouble with the wording of something, please come to the talk page first instead of starting a revert war with 3 people.

The mask actually gets Magic School Repairs. I can't get the template to show properly, though.
