Thanks. ^^ I think I know enough to start making some contributions. Already added some tips on Beginner Chat and Taming Wild Animals, things like that. MSZShadow 13:55, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

the Maestro

Have you actually obtained the title ingame (in NA, other servers don't matter)? There are similar titles that have never been officially released ingame in NA and some that haven't been released in any server. Please provide a screenshot.

Pyro - (Talk)14:21, 1 August 2012

And why do we keep the #1 title, all the FMA ones, and the GM/devCAT titles?

We keep the unreleased Event Titles because they are obtainable in other servers. And the GM/DevCAT ones are obtainable in NA (although you must be an employee for those). However, I have never seen any evidence proving the Maestro title is obtainable in any server at all.

[1]

Someone's already got it.

Oneris14:54, 1 August 2012

Any title can be obtained by a GM, why don't we just include all of em.

Sorry it took a while to respond. Yes, I have it. Had it for a while now, actually. [1] Also posted this on Nation shortly after I got it: [2]

Although, if people actually paid attention, knowledge of the title is gained as soon as you learn music skills. If you already had music skills, it wouldn't be announced to you, of course.

Thanks.

Scythes as Swords

Tell me, who gave you that information?

Infodude57513:20, 21 July 2012

That would be Indexu of Alexina (if I remember correctly), and some other people who have/had access to KR testing servers on Mabination. I intend to confirm it myself, when I get the chance.

MSZShadow13:49, 21 July 2012

Still haven't gotten the chance? O-o

Infodude57522:30, 1 August 2012

Oh, no, I did. I just saw it was no longer on the page, so I didn't bother returning to the topic. No, no they aren't handled by Sword Mastery. At least, not in NA.

Two title for Enthralling Performance

There are currently two title for Enthralling Performance, one for male, one for female. The player's name and guild were taken out for privacy matters.

Kiyoura18:31, 26 July 2012

Oh, is that so? That's odd. I could have sworn the last female car with it had Enthralling Performance.

Then a note should be made to specify that, rather than just stating "X or Y", as that made it sound like the title was glitched, or was like the "saw the Libaray Ghost" (or whatever its name is) title, in the sense that in the UI it said one thing, but said something else when equipped.

Trinity Staff

The images are on the staves page, they do not belong on the Trinity Staff page.

Pyro - (Talk)10:26, 4 July 2012

Then there needs to at least be a mention or link to it, as it's part of the nature of the weapon. A link in the item description should suffice.

MSZShadow13:03, 5 July 2012

So what you're saying is, on each page for any weapon, even things like Cutlasses, we should write down the entire list page on its page?...

Pyro - (Talk)13:26, 5 July 2012

I added a note that it is capable of bolt charging for intermediate magic on the staff's page...personally I feel a video is more appropriate for showing bolt charging, rather than a still image...

MSZ, stop reverting to your image. Your images have jpeg compression. Anemki's upload is crystal clear. Lighting isn't the problem, it's the compression of the Jpeg in your images. Natural PNGs are preferred over jpeg conversions to PNG

S•A•R•I•A13:30, 5 July 2012

@Pyro: I said nothing of the sort. The weapon changes in appearance and has that natural effect. It's mentioned in the page, but there's no way to find the images unless you just so happen to go to the staff page. There should be no problem turning one of the words in the mention of it into a link to the gallery, or something of that nature. The concern is that players have trouble finding things on the wiki, because pages and/or databases are so poorly connected.

@SARIA: There is no visual change in quality, even with it being a natural PNG as opposed to the converted one. The only noticeable difference is that the emphasis is no longer placed on the effect, the reason for the image, contrary to what wiki policies require. Therefore, for those purposes, it was a downgrade. If it was done in similar lighting, I would have had no problems. Regardless, I've lost respect for the wiki in general, so I wouldn't have bothered to change it again, even if you had said nothing.

MSZShadow14:13, 5 July 2012

There is a change. Saving it as a jpg removes a bit of quality, then resaving it as a png has no quality change, but the first quality change already took place.

Plus its common sense to go to a weapon type's page to see what makes it special. It doesn't physically change its appearance, it's an xml effect.

Pyro - (Talk)14:25, 5 July 2012

Shadow, do you have a laptop or an LCD plasma screen?

Prairie Dragon Heart.png Anemkitalk to mecontributions14:39, 5 July 2012

@Pyro: That's why I didn't explicitly say "no change". Yes, I know there is a change, but it's hardly noticeable, and typically makes no difference. For that reason, it's only natural for the policy of emphasizing the subject to take priority over image type policy. If it were common sense to look at/for weapons via the type page instead of searching the name to go to the specific item's page, fewer people would have trouble finding an item, since the searching system can be finicky. Also, regardless of the exact semantics, the effect is recognized as part of, or belonging to the object.

@Anemki: I have both, and some other types. The only significant difference I see is with certain colors changing a bit on some screens. Even so, this difference is negligible.

MSZShadow14:51, 5 July 2012

If you tilt it, there are pixels or grainy areas around the edges. It's actually surprisingly easy to tell a Jpg froma Png. It's also easy to take images so they are not a Jpg, and resaving them as a Png doesn't make it better. :/

Prairie Dragon Heart.png Anemkitalk to mecontributions15:50, 5 July 2012

I made the "type" parameter in the weapon box now link to the list page of that type, in addition, better categorization is now used.

They're cool, but we have a policy against having character names in pictures. Please use the control+n hotkey in-game to hide your name and retake them.

Angevon (Talk)08:11, 4 February 2011

Oh right, I forgot about Ctrl-N. xD Give me a moment, and that'll be fixed.

Done. Thanks for reminding me. =)

Images w/ Mods

Please refrain from adding images to the wiki that show mods.

κєνıи тαıĸ«)12:58, 21 November 2010

Those images don't show mods. It's a known glitch. You can actually obtain the item.

MSZShadow13:10, 21 November 2010

Sorry for assuming that it was mods. It was because of your bitmap font. Would you care to explain how you obtain this item?

κєνıи тαıĸ«)13:28, 21 November 2010

No problem. This is how I do it.

1. Grab yourself a Large Balloon and some Ballista Bolts 2. Get in the balloon, and take off. 3. Start using a ballista (Just click on it). 4. Log off while still holding onto the Ballista. 5. Log back on the same channel you logged off on. 6. Change channels to a different channel. 7. Remove the Bolts and Ballista from your equipped items. 8. Move a good distance away from the spot where you logged off. 9. Change channels back to the channel you disconnected on. 10. Now you have the Ballista. Don't try to fight using bolts, or you'll get an error message, and lose the Ballista.

If you're unable to move, repeat steps 6, 8, and 9 until you can move on that channel.

Edit: Eh, formatting died. At least they're numbered. Edit2: Not sure if Play Dead actually affects anything, but it seems to help sometimes, when you can't move, to use it.
