Talk:Final Hit

From Mabinogi World Wiki

Zelfae: According to a friend of mine Final Hit isn't avaiable until G4, despite that the quest for it takes place in Emain Macha.

You could probably find out by going on youtube and looking at the generation trailers. Whichever generation trailer shows final hit is probably the one that it comes out for.Ziv 10:44, 2 May 2008 (PDT)

It's not working...

I searched the area around the sun landmark for the whole storm and found nothing... =( Is the information on the page wrong? (I play in the Japanese version)

It's possible you were just unlucky. Make sure you could actually see the lightning flash and hear the thunder, too. Mathonwy 22:23, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
It's very hard to find. Keep trying, and good luck. I was lucky --- someone else found the statue, and it stayed revealed for a while. I was able to get two sketches from it. After it dsappeared, I spent all the rest of the storm trying to find it again without success. --- Angevon 01:21, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
its not enough to just search near the landmark, i is usualy near the landmark, but sometiles its all the way on the other side of the mesa.

The easiest way to acquire the page is simply buying it from someone who has already found it. It eases the stress on the player. And the price of the page is well worth the skill. -- Eiyuu 10:31, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Searching for it is extremely hard even for just the twin swords one. For me I found the twin swords at around the west section of the entrance to the mesa but took me about an hour and a half searching for it. Best thing to do is to buy it from players as the skill is well worth the 40k me and a friend bought it for. --- Pbkillstrike 9:38 pm (PST), 8 April 2009

an hour and a half?? RL or Mabi time? i found it within 30 seconds of ariving at the mesa for the first sketch, and when i went there during a thunder storm for the second, there were people all over the place so it was found almost emidiately after dissapearing every time. Sozen Cratos Focker 05:48, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Pb, you bought it for 40k OwO Most sell it under 30k in the Tarlach server xD But anyways, what you said is ture, buying it is the easiest way to obtain the sketch. -- Eiyuu 06:41, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Similar attacks in other games?

I've noticed that there seems to be a very big parallel between Final Hit in Mabinogi and 00 Mode in Gundam 00: Gundam Meisters for the PS2, except instead of clicking the target to warp and make a strike, you use the control stick to pick your target. Has anyone else seen similar attacks in other games?

Yes, the World of Warcraft Rogue Combat spec talent Killing Spree is similar as well. (See here) --- Musashi 23:18, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Question

Do ranged or magic attacks slow down Final Hit (the ones that don't knock back)?

I have not seen any decrease in my speed when I was hit by an Icebolt or an arrow shot. --Eiyuu 1:51, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Not from what I've seen, I've noted no decrease in attack speed, at least in the dual wielding form of the attack, regardless of what I'm pelted with.--Kingrussel 08:34, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Just pointing out that the only way you are able to be knocked out of Final Hit is either to be hit with Magnum Shot, Firebolt, or Counter. There are other ways but these three are the most basic. -- Eiyuu 19:35, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

No, the only attacks that are suppose to be able to counter a Final Hit are Windmill, Counter-Attack, Firebolt, and other attacks that knock back enemys with one strike. I have though seen that I do slow down when being attacked by normal strikes but that is probably due to lag. --- Pbkillstrike 9:45 pm (PST), 8 April 2009

Stamina Usage

This skill uses an awful lot of stamina.

A bit to load the skill, then it slowly drains stamina every second.

What I want to know is if when you attack in Final Hit, do you use the normal attacking Stamina also?'

R1:40 Seconds, 2 Stamina a second, 10 Stamina to Load; you've got a bare minimum of 90 Stamina right there. The status page mentions this:

Each single-wield normal attacks take up 2 stamina, while each dual-wield attack takes up 5 stamina (for Humans).

There you've got 5 Stamina gone an attack while Dual Wielding...if normal attack stamina usage is used while in Final Hit, you can expect to run out fast. ._. ~Rusty~

I don't recall duel wielding needing 5 stamina a swing back when I played other servers.--Aubog007 15:13, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I think I read somewhere, each hit takes 2.5 stamina, while each attack (while dual-wielding) consists of 2 hits (except the third, if you have a 3hit and 2hit weapon). Either way, it's the same thing as 5 stamina an attack. ~Rusty~

By the time you have at most Rank 9 Final hit, its best to get at least rank A production mastery for +60 stamina.--Dra6o0n
EDIT: I've noticed that my Rank D Final hit uses up around 2.5 or 4 Stamina per atks (Dual Wielding), but couldn't gauge it well cause my stamina was draining 1 per second.

I would just like to note that your weapons also affect how much stamina you are using. For instance, two daggers will use a considerably lot less of stamina then two cutlasses. Keep that in mind while preparing Final Hit. -- Eiyuu 10:34, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

I have noticed that final hit only consumes stamina based on the chart. It does not use the extra stamina needed to attack with dual wielding.

Final Hit can drain your stamina considerably if you use it often but I have only been taken down to around 40 stamina from a max of about 100. I am however at rank D of Final Hit and use 2 Daggers but that is just me. --- Pbkillstrike

Crits and Damage

I've noticed that i never seem to crit and that my damage seems to be lower than normal, is this something that will change as the rank of the skill increases?--Jacobpaige 11:05, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I have tried to increase my chances by wearing a Stiff Tailed Cap. Though, it does seem that my critical attacks happen less often as well. Still, I am unaware of what might be the cause of it all. It may just be that when using Final Hit, your chances of getting criticals are lowered. -- Eiyuu 10:36, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
it also could just be that you are out of stamina whenever you notice this hapening. i think being out of stamina makes all atacks do your base damage, and not get anny crit bonus or anything from your weapons. Sozen Cratos Focker 20:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Final Hit is incrediably effected by Stamina. With 0 stamina you will hit for bare hand damage and be unable to do criticals. I have observed however that I do more criticals in Final Hit then when not using it but i rarely use my daggers outside of Final Hit except for profing for upgrades. Also having the Lucky (Guy/Girl) title equiped will also greatly increase critical rates. --- Pbkillstrike

Another thing is that you may be useing them on high HP thisng like golems...they have a lot of protection, so that might be decreasing it. User: Heme

Stat Improvement Rank F>E

I recently got final hit, and the Rank E Description was, 'Greater teleport distance' or something, but I could teleport further. On the wiki it says that the distance is 400 for Ranks F and E, but I think the distance for F is like 200, because I could teleport further with Rank E than F. --Fruitrecruit

There's a similar issue on the D>C upgrade. I think it's a more minor teleport change this time.--Kingrussel 02:34, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and I really couldn't teleport anywhere with Rank F. I basically could only teleport when I was already in range to hit the monster, Rank F has a very small teleport range. Also, are distances proportional? Because D Final Hit (600) seems to teleport a distance slightly less than a crossbow's range (1300). --Fruitrecruit

Rank D of Final Hit has about 1.5 times the teleporting distance that Rank E in my battles. --- Pbkillstrike

Pictures

Do we need anymore pictures of Final Hit. I can obtain some if needed.

I think it'd be a good idea if you Documented warp range from above. Just take some well timed screens of you using it at different ranks.--Kingrussel 05:12, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Kingrussel

What good will different ranks do? It's all the same animation...--Kevin 05:26, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Mainly for the distance. Each rank gets a higher distance then the last--Kingrussel 10:00, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I could try making screenshots for Rank F final hit distance, but I've yet to gather enough AP to rank it up, nor do I know how to post edited screens on the wiki.--Dra6o0n 18:50, 13 March 2009 (EST) - EDIT: Nvm, I made a example picture to the right of content list...

Rank F is the same as rank E in both teleportation distance and skill time, but time and distance go up in D.

As for the third picture, its incorrect and needs to be removed, since there is not an atleast a distinguishable difference between rank F and E.

Oops, I noticed it a little while ago that on the summary, it is by every 2 rank that distance increases...--Dra6o0n

My current Final Hit Rank is 9, so from there to Rank 1 (i.e. 9-8, 7-6, 5-2, and 1) I will try to take some screen shots that captures the distance of the skill. Though, if others wish to do it, please feel free to do so. -- Eiyuu 09:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

It's much easier to have a system where you use the multiplier of rank F range, like Rank D is 1.5x and Rank B 2x...--Dra6o0n
I think that there should be a picture of rank F and rank 9, atleast until some one gets higher. --Zaros 23:27, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Training of Final Hit

I don't know if this really is Wiki-worthy, but there's a trick for leveling up the "Defeat___ enemies during the skill" stat. Simply Pile up enemies with finishes (Via Party/Anyone to Finish) and finish them all at once. It's up for debate on this techniques relevance to the article or not, but feel free to at least read it from here.--Kingrussel 10:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I am also unsure of this section but I suggest that an orb room with lots of monster appearances will add to piling up finishes. I myself use Ciar Basic as an excellent training ground for Final Hit. A little note: Three orbs active with a lots of spiders/rat men = Easy Final Hit Training. -- Eiyuu 1:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

This method doesn't work well with multi aggro mobs, unless you have high defense and can afford to be hit by during final hit.

Well, I didnt really think that the mobs in Ciar Basic hit that hard n-n;; -- Eiyuu 11:52, 18 March 2009

Try certain places in Iria, or especially Ant Pit or Nube Mountain caves, where many many monsters spawn at once (use the party to put them into one area). Rebirthing can make them tougher so you can get powerful skill pts.--Dra6o0n

But remember, you can make them weaker this way, but in a long run, you will become stronger then them. So, use tendering potions! xD (Just saying my opinion, but they should sell them in the shop >.>) -- Eiyuu 12:07, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

If you are low lvled just rebirth and use Final Hit on single aggro enemys that are easy to kill like goblins in barri. --- Pbkillstrike

Hit Box Expanding

I've tested the "Monsters get larger range" theory in the Alby arena, and it seems to have no effect on how close people have to be to hit me. What I think has happened is that the lag has caused them to seem further from the monster than they actually were. Anyone have any attributing info on this?--Kingrussel 08:32, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Nope, even without lag some monsters always look farther away when being hit or hitting the player. Most notably is the hell hounds, who have a massive hti box. --Fracture

long details section...

i think we should rearorganise the details section, its really bulky. u suggest haveing one section for general info about it, one for specific things about how it works wen you are dualweilding or not, and one section for trivial stuff like the color changes and how it cant be used in pvp on other servers. Sozen Cratos Focker 02:58, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Party Battle Techniques

I was looking through the section on how many ways your party members can screw up your Final Hit, and I wonder: has the time for support shot finally come? In the description it says something about not disrupting the attacks of a warrior, and even though we know for fact this doesn't work in regular combat, what about during FH? --Fracture

When used in a party, only users of the same FH skill will not cancel each other out. So Final hit is great for taking out a boss that has little or no heavy stander if you have multiple people use final hit simultaneously on a target (thus won't send it flying), just remember not to hit the boss if your ally still has final hit active, otherwise the boss will be sent flying and will retaliate.--Dra6o0n
Dra6o0n's therory is accurate but wrong. When a Person is Attacking in Final Hit mode you may attack the monster they are attacking. You may use any skill or regular attack you want but make sure that it doesn't knock them back.
Ex. Perform a standard Combo but do not finish it or do not use magnum shot and other one hit knock back skills that includes one-handed Final Hit. --- Pbkillstrike
I know about those things, but sometimes at certain moments (ie: a critical ranged attack) the monster winds up getting knocked over anyway. I'm mostly wondering about the potential uses of support shot when it comes to FH. --Fracture
My friend used Support Shot while I performed FH on an enemy. It didn't disturb the enemy or my attacks whatsoever, so it seems to blend nicely with FH. She continued to test it with some of our friends using FH and it went on performing as it should. I can test this some more on my elf right now to safely confirm it. --Aramet 23:01, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Final Hit Glitch

The glitch for Final Hit is similar to the Firebolt glitch. After you finish your Final Hit skill, you retain your animation around your swords. This has happened more than once to me. The glitch is probably the result of lag from either me or the people watching me preform the skill. I'm merely curious if this glitch has ever occurred to anyone else. -- Eiyuu 16:30, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

I have experienced the glitch also. Some one was having a Paladin/Dk duel and died. They kept it when they got up. I also heard that it automatically happens if you switch weapons while final hitting. I have yet to prove it true. --Zaros 04:04, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
My friend had died in FH and I saw him in FH still, so I guess it occurs mostly when you die. ─┤Hakumei├─ 21:45, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, I see. Though, I personally say that it looks awesome when the glitch occurs xD -- Eiyuu 19:05, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

I just teasted it... switching weapons during final hit dosesn't keep it going... unless its switching right when the skill ends... User: Heme

PvP and Final Hit

Does anyone have any tips as to how to difuse a final hit attack in pvp?

Only thing you can do is Final Hit back, wielding a single-handed weapon, Counterattack, Firebolt, Magnum Shot, or Windmill. If they hit you, the only thing you can do is wait for their attacks to end. --Zephyre 12:05, 14 April 2009 (EST)
if its a 1 on 1 fight, and the opponent is dualwielding, the only way to stop their final hit early is a Nao Escape Bomb. Sozen Cratos Focker 16:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Unless you're lucky and they pause from lag, giving you a chance to load up windmill, counter, or to run and hide. ─┤Hakumei├─ 21:47, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Tip Deletes?

Who keeps deleting all the Tips on this section and wants us to die? ~ Shadowboy132

who keeps deleting it? whoever knows it's a waste of space that just makes the page less usefull annyway.
who wants "us" to die? dont know, dont care.

Sozen Cratos Focker 00:17, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

How is it a waste of space? Its supposed to be useful Information. ~ Shadowboy132

information not directly related to the skill is not useful on the skill's page. Sozen Cratos Focker 04:32, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

You're free to make links to the proper Battle Tactics page, like Icebolt does. ---Angevon 04:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

What about adding the Party Tips to this? I mean usually if you team while someone uses this skill, they die.

PD DEFEATED!

Final hit+dagger ^o^ User: Heme

what?--Sozen Cratos Focker 03:25, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
I think they meant using Final Hit with daggers will defeat Passive Defenses. I kinda knew that already o3o --Kevin Talk«) 03:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
that would depend on the attack speed of the monster.--Sozen Cratos Focker 03:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Thats technically not true. One of my friends was using FH on a Dark Mini Golem (the Ciar Adv one) and he got his ass kicked. ~ Shadowboy132

I've found that this is dependant on quite a few variables: attack speed of the weapon, attack speed of the monster, amount of client-side lag, and how many times in a row passive defenses are activated. For example, with my dual gladius I can keep going through passive defences unless I activate them twice in a row. But with my dual wooden blades it takes 3 in a row for me to get hit. This may or may not be something worth investigating. --Sanity 03:59, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

It may also be affected by the rank of the heavy stander, as that affects how fast the target will come out of the flinch.--Sozen Cratos Focker 04:36, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Page Too Long

Or more, the info/details section is too long. Far too long. A quick glance shows lots of useless trivial information as well. This being the case, can we come to a consensus on what can/should and what can't/shouldn't be deleted?--Mystickskye 07:57, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

let's start with removing the purely objective things like "Final Hit should be used more as a last resort or to help you kill bosses"--Sozen Cratos Focker 20:14, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
Forgot about this for a bit. At any rate, I agree on those but I also think we should take out the obvious, debatable or otherwise non-notable. Even a lot of the useful info is messily rewritten and verges on repetition in many parts.--Mystickskye 03:46, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Feel free to remove any obvious, unnecessary, and/or repeated information. The wiki is supposed to be concise and accurate, so the last thing we need is clutter. There's stuff on other pages that needs clean-up, too. I'm really tired of reading stuff like "If an enemy's running at you with a skill loaded, it's probably using Smash!" So please, help us tidy the mess. --Powder Rune 04:22, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
also, all the things about graphical effects, animations, and what it does to a character's appearance should be moved to captions under pictures, or somewhere else were it's not in the way, and that's for all the skill pages, not just this one(if there still are other skill pages that do that). The details section should just be about how the skill works.
and i think information that's in the charts doesn't necessarily need to be in the details section, at least not for the really long pages.--Sozen Cratos Focker 00:06, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Just rearranged the details section and broke it up into smaller sections. It's still bulky, and maybe not very easy on the eyes yet, but at least now it's somewhat organised and it should be easier to find the line we are looking for when editing or removing parts that are wrong, unnecessary, or poorly worded. Theres still some more reorganizing and other work to do on this page, but I'l get to that later. I'm tired from spending all that time working with the way the details section used to be(felt like I was looking at a terms of service agreement or something).--Sozen Cratos Focker 21:07, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Based on what's said here, I'm gonna be pruning the details section back based on how a wiki should be and my own person judgement. If people do end up having a problem with it, please discuss rather than just undoing changes.--Mystickskye 23:31, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
suggestion(i don't know how to do it myself): put the "obtaining the skill" section into a hidden text box, on this page and any other skill page were it's more than one or two lines.--Sozen Cratos Focker 23:30, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Unable to be knocked down?

I was fighting Gorgons in a g2 Fiodh dungeon today, and while using FH with a blunt and a shield against one, it knocked me down and canceled FH without putting me into deadly or killing me. Glitch, or perhaps the chance for getting KD is extremely low with FH?

I have noticed that it's possible to be knocked down whilst in FH, it's happened to me quite a bit. I've not really noticed anything in common that caused it short of being hit a lot.--Mystickskye 05:58, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Cooldown

At rank D it says the cooldown is 275-270 seconds But at Rank C it says the cooldown is 300 seconds Yet on the chart, it says its 300 untill rank 5. Since im mainly elf i dont know the true time, and my humans FH is rank F

The chart is correct. Cooldown for any skill begins when you activate the skill, not when the skill is cancelled or ends. Rank D FH should have an effective cooldown of exactly 276 seconds if the skill is used for its full duration.--Emiri 20:58, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Monster Renovation

I did a test on Cessair, and they seem to be affected by the Final Hit buff. Firebolt didn't cancel, and their damage went from 1 to 160. Can someone double check, and if possible check if EMAC Padan and Price are also affected?

On a slightly related note, their sword smash weren't able to debuff me, nor were they able to counter sword walk.

Infodude575 (talk)20:51, 22 April 2015

Knocked back

My friend told me he was fighting a Headless, he used FH and at one point the Headless managed to knock him back and got his FH canceled. Edit: Friend decided to trace his steps, and then remembered he was click CTRL + Clicking and most likely he just accidentally canceled the skill without realizing and synching perfectly with the hit.

Also, another friend told me fireball knocks him back, but he was able to continue using FH.

Can't test either of these because lagging too hard in mabi.

Sakura502 (talk)18:17, 22 April 2015

Got knocked by a Sulfur Spider, didn't lose my FH.

It's not even using the template properly and "needs maps"? Maps of what? I think we should remove this banner, but I wanted a second opinion.

Probably an updated map for the twin sword statues.

Meru (talk)16:01, 8 June 2014

What Meru said. Its not up to date since Saga 1 altered the terrain/minimap around the statues and may or may not have moved the statue's locations around.

Okay that makes sense. I'll move it to a more proper location then.

Blargel (talk)18:27, 8 June 2014

I don't know about push-back being ignored entirely, as the skill claims...

  • I've gotten comboed by a Stag Beetle for about 7 hits or so, not once did I get stunned nor pushed back.
  • I was RPing as Shamala in Episode 6, a Shaman used Chain Casted Lightning Bolt to push me back and cancel Final Hit.
  • Was RPing as Millia, a Lich used Chain Casted Icebolt and I got stunned around the third hit, despite her Mana Deflector.

I think an investigation should be conducted on all stun/push-back attacks.

Infodude575 (talk)11:55, 4 June 2014

Well if what you're saying is right, you were pushed back by magic attacks but not melee attacks. I believe it goes like this. A normal non Final Hit enabled character would get Stunned > Push-Back > Knocked-Down but while in Final Hit, stun gets moved over a bit so it would be Stunned > Knock-Down eliminating Push-Back. I will do some testing as well, don't believe I recall being pushed-back but I do remember being knocked-down and stunned often.

Red Dragon Thunderstorm

From the Monster Summon Urn. Does that count?

Infodude575 (talk)16:09, 26 December 2012

tested just now yes the red dragon's storm ability counts as 100% rain and will cause the twin sword statue to glow I learned something else I didn't know that's related that thing being that if a storm starts beforehand the statue can start glowing when or slightly after it starts
