Act 1 Scene 2
Polonius is introduced. However, he says nothing.
Act 1 Scene 3
Polonius greets Laertes who is leaving for France. After the son leaves, Polonius warns his daughter, Ophelia, that Hamlet cannot be trusted.
Act 1 Scene 5
Polonius's butler summons a messenger to deliver a luggage to a servant at the docks, but warns that monsters have been roaming about lately. When the messenger gets to the docks, they find Shakespeare instead.
Act 2 Scene 1
After Polonius's messenger returns, Polonius tells that he sent the servant to France to spy on his son to see how he fares. The messenger does not tell that they met Shakespeare.
Ophelia rushes in, who is alarmed at Hamlet's odd behavior, and gives her father a letter describing Hamlet's situation. He tells that Hamlet is facing the 'ecstasy of love', possibly responsible for his 'mad' behavior. Polonius heads off to announce this to Claudius and Gertrude.
Along the way, Polonius is attacked by Young Goblins. After the messenger defeats the Goblins, he thanks them.
The Prince has finally,
Gone mad with love.
I will go seek the king.
This is the very ecstasy of love.
This must be known, which being kept close, might move,
More grief to hide than hate to utter love.
Act 2 Scene 2
Polonius brings Ophelia's letter to Claudius and Gertrude, telling them what was written on it.
Act 3 Scene 1
After The Murder of Gonzago has played, Polonius orders applauding.
Act 3 Scene 2
Claudius, who is now very suspicious of Hamlet's actions since The Murder of Gonzago, he orders Polonius to spy on him.
Act 3 Scene 3
While Hamlet and Gertrude are in an argument, Polonius spies behind a curtain. Hamlet, who had sensed someone behind the curtain, pulls out his blade and stabs it, killing Polonius by accident.
Act 4 Scene 2
Laertes, who has heard the word of his father's death, immediately rushes back to Denmark and swears vengeance for Polonius by killing the one who murdered him, and targets Claudius. The King informs Laertes that Hamlet was the one responsible for Polonius's death.
