MABINOGI Letter Collection Event (2011)

Description
The Mabinogi letter collection event is back with all new prizes!
Nerys and Simon in Dunbarton give out collection books and your job will be to collect all the letters that spell "MABINOGI." You will need to place the corresponding letters in the collection books. These letters may be collected from monsters all over Erinn. Once you successfully spell MABINOGI, "complete" the collection book and receive a gift certificate. Take note that each collection book will give specific gift certificates. That is, a Simon Collection Book will only reward a Simon's Clothing Shop Gift Certificate.
Gift certificates may be redeemed from either Simon or Nerys, as long as you have the corresponding gift certificates. Simon will typically reward clothing where Nerys rewards weapons and armor.
If you want a more convenient way to collect MABINOGI rather than filling out collection books, Nerys and Simon both offer hunting quests that will also reward gift certificates. You may purchase these hunting quests from the merchants' Event shop tab.

Basic Information
- Upon logging in during the event you will receive the quest Collect MABINOGI Letters!
- See below for quest details.
- When speaking to either Simon or Nerys, they will have a Receive Letter Collection Journal button and a 'Redeem Gift Certificates button.
- Simon and Nerys will also offer you a Letter Collection Journal upon exiting their shop. You may say "No" to this.
- Prizes are determined by the amount of Gift Certificates in one's inventory when speaking to either Simon or Nerys.
- Simon's Card Collection Books given by Simon will give 1 Simon's Clothing Shop Gift Certificate upon completion.
- Nerys' Card Collection Books given by Nerys will give 1 Nerys' Weapon Shop Gift Certificate upon completion.
- Simon and Nerys also offer a quest scroll which gives 5 Gift Certificates specific to the NPC.
- The quest scroll asks you to collect 5 sets of MABINOGI letters at once.
- Each MABINOGI letter is only obtainable from specific monsters. See below.
- Letters can be stacked up to 100.

- Note: Monsters of the same type usually drop the same letters (example: all bears drop "g" and red "i"). This does not count for those that are of similar type (example: laghodessas don't count as "spiders" in this case). Also, monsters will tend to drop 2 letters (one less frequently than the other). The 2 letters they drop will also be closely related (example: "m" and "a" or "b" and "i").
- To quickly obtain M and A letters, kill gray or white wolves at Tir Chonaill, or other areas with many wolves.
- To quickly obtain B and I letters, you could run Longa Ruins Dungeon. Many enemies there drop these frequently.
- To quickly obtain N and O letters, you could run Barri Dungeon*. Most evidently in the Advanced versions, gremlins and chon-chon drop these letters often.
- Or Rabbie Dungeon, for the skeletons.
- To quickly obtain G and I letters, you could run Math Dungeon. Almost all monsters there are capable of dropping letters.
