Bard Bulletin Board

From Mabinogi World Wiki

The Bard Bulletin Board is a way for players to share music scores they've composed with any other player on the same server.

Basic Information

The Bard Bulletin Board (left) and individual song information (right)
  • To access the board, click the main menu and then select Bard Bulletin Board, the board is accessible to all players at the start of the game.
  • Players can view registered songs in the three different tabs of the bulletin board, "Solo", "Jam Session", and "Liked".
  • In each listing, players can click on the song name to more information such as the composer's comments and copy the notes if they're made visible. Players can also preview the song, which will play it on the composer's designated instrument, or quickly transcribe the song if the player's Composing rank is at or above the composing rank of the song.
  • Players can also filter scores based on recommended instrument, composing rank, number of players necessary, and/or search by title/composer name.
    • Note: The search field is case sensitive, and the search only shows results based on the number of "Current Music Scores" (listed at the top of the board), which initially starts at the 100 most recent scores. In order to search in the entire history of uploaded music, players must first navigate to the earliest page with the >> button on the bulletin board, and then conduct a search only after the "Current Music Scores" value is equal to the "Total Music Scores" value. The Current Music Scores value will reset back to 100 once the bulletin board window is closed.

Uploading Music Scores

The window that appears after clicking "Register"
  • Players who wish to add a song to the bard bulletin board must first compose a musical score, and then click "Register".
  • From there, players enter in a title and description, and can place one or more scores in the designated slots and select suggested instruments. They can also choose to keep the notes hidden from other players.
    • Scores that are uploaded to the bard bulletin board cannot have hidden chords, and they cannot be written by another player
    • After uploading the song, the notes are still visible to the original composer, and the comments can be later edited, but the title, notes, and preferred instrument cannot change.
  • The composing rank of the uploaded song is determined based on what composing rank would be needed to fully transcribe the notes in each section of the song, not by the composer's Composing or Musical Knowledge rank.
  • When other players transcribe the song, the title of the transcribed score is uses the name of the original uploaded score, not the title on the bulletin board.
